Chapter 29: Doing Something Naughty

Mu Jingyi’s bedroom was a mess.

The sheets were stained with the kitty’s sweat and fluids, and the rich cream scent lingered in the air, constantly teasing the alpha’s emotions.

In the end, Mu Jingyi carried Ning Jiu back to the kitty’s own bed.

An omega who had just been temporarily marked would always feel an inexplicable heat.

A fine layer of sweat gathered at his temples.

Half-asleep, he instinctively moved closer to the alpha.

Even lying beside him was not enough.

He sprawled directly on top of Mu Jingyi, treating him like a mattress.

Only then did he settle a little.

The kitty calmed down.

The alpha beneath him, however, was wide awake.

Every tiny movement—through nothing but two thin layers of pajamas—was magnified endlessly in Mu Jingyi’s senses.

He held the kitty close and stared at the ceiling, fully conscious.

The satisfaction of holding him and the frustration of holding him without being able to go further intertwined, constantly testing an alpha’s limits.

It was destined to be a sleepless night.

Ning Jiu did not sleep peacefully either.

He woke in a daze and instinctively nuzzled into Mu Jingyi’s neck, drawn to the alpha pheromones.

The earlier comfort at his gland faded.

An unbearable itch replaced it, dragging him fully awake.

He frowned, letting out a soft whimper as if terribly wronged.

Mu Jingyi had not slept at all.

He turned on the bedside lamp, casting a gentle glow over the kitty’s reflective blue eyes.

“Where does it feel bad?”

Those sapphire-like eyes shone even brighter in the dim light.

Still hazy with sleep, Ning Jiu murmured without guard.

“Daddy… kitty still wants… pheromones.”

He was like a little cat starved on suppressants for too long, who had only just tasted a bit of broth.

He pushed himself up and shifted forward, pressing down onto Mu Jingyi again.

“Daddy, bite the gland again…”

Still not fully awake, he did not realize what was pressing against him.

He simply asked without fear.

Mu Jingyi pulled aside his collar and brushed his fingers over the scabbed bite mark.

The skin there was swollen and vividly red, more alluring than before.

Such an inviting sight, and the kitty would naïvely offer it up, blinking innocently as he tested the alpha’s restraint.

“Alright. My pheromones… all for you.”

Mu Jingyi’s voice was hoarse.

His throat burned dry no matter how many times he swallowed.

He bit gently this time, careful not to draw blood.

Ning Jiu let out a soft sigh, a sweet murmur escaping his lips.

There was no sharp pain like before.

Instead, he frowned slightly in dissatisfaction.

“Daddy… can you… bite harder… I want it to hurt a little more…”

Mu Jingyi inhaled sharply.

His heart pounded wildly.

The simple request sent a dangerous reaction through him.

“You little bad kitty… I was worried you’d hurt.”

He stroked his hair tenderly.

“Kitty isn’t afraid of pain… I’ve endured ten times worse. This is different. This kind of pain feels good…”

Heartache and desire tangled together.

“I’ll give you what you want. Just tell me.”

He bit down again, this time layering a new mark over the old.

The faint metallic taste returned.

The omega’s fragile gland was not meant to endure such strong pheromones, yet the addictive comfort pulled him under.

Soon, Ning Jiu drifted into sleep.

Mu Jingyi tucked him in and, unable to rest, dimmed his phone screen and sent a long message to the Mu family’s private hospital.

This condition was not normal.

The weaker the body, the more desperately it craved alpha pheromones.

Ning Jiu could be reckless.

He could not.

Repeated temporary marking might work in emergencies, but Mu Jingyi wanted to restore the kitty’s health properly.

His body was too frail to be left like this.

Throughout the night, Ning Jiu woke several times.

Each time the gland throbbed, he would ask for another bite before dozing off again.

By morning, his neck bore overlapping marks.

Fresh red ones.

Older, darkened ones.

A heartbreaking sight.

Mu Jingyi took leave from work.

Caring for one’s omega was a valid reason.

As the president of the Mu Group, his leave was easily arranged.

Ning Jiu slept for a long time.

When he finally woke from hunger, his alpha was there to feed him warm porridge.

He sipped it slowly, then gingerly touched the swollen gland.

The moment his finger brushed the bite mark, he hissed and pulled back.

The kitty who had claimed not to fear pain now felt a trace of regret.

If he had known it would hurt this much afterward, he would have asked Daddy to be gentler.

Though it had been his own request to bite harder.

Temporary marking was only an emergency measure.

Yet the bond between alpha and omega deepened beyond that.

He felt closer than before.

Closer than when Daddy had only pampered him gently.

He could not quite describe the feeling.

It was different.

“Baby, we’ll go to the hospital for a thorough checkup. Then I’ll know how to take care of you.”

Ning Jiu nodded obediently, gripping his spoon.

He did not like hospitals.

The operating table.

The cracked ceiling.

Cold blades cutting skin without anesthesia.

Dirty needles piercing without care.

He had survived countless modification surgeries.

Many inferior omegas had not.

Whenever he lay on an operating table, he felt his life was no longer in his hands.

Daddy meant well.

A good kitty should not reject kindness.

Just then, a small black ball of fur jumped onto his lap.

“Wau! Wuii mao wu!” (Boss! Human smells nice!)

Coal Ball sniffed suspiciously.

“Ma’ao! Wau mao wu.” (No, boss smells nice!)

It sniffed again, confused by the scent lingering on Ning Jiu’s neck.

“Wau Ma’ao wii?” (Boss did naughty things with the human?)

Ning Jiu’s eyes widened.

His face flushed bright red.

“Ma’ao miiu!” (Don’t talk nonsense!)

Coal Ball meowed indignantly and pawed at his finger with soft pads.

“Wau ma’ao!” (Boss did naughty things!)

The two cats batted at each other playfully.

“What are you two doing?”

Mu Jingyi laughed and picked Coal Ball up, interrupting the “fight.”

“It bullied me. No canned food for it today!”

Coal Ball did not understand but sensed the tone and meowed anxiously.

Even when angry, the kitty was adorable.

“Baby, don’t be mad. We’ll cut Coal Ball’s snacks today. Little kitty is still growing. You need to eat more.”

“It’s already gained weight.”

“It used to be too thin. A little weight is good.”

Ning Jiu poked Coal Ball’s head and huffed lightly.

He was not truly angry.

Just embarrassed at being exposed.

“Baby should gain a little more too. You’re too thin.”

His body could not recover overnight.

He patted his cheeks.

“They’re fuller now. You can pinch them.”

“Let me see.”

Ning Jiu obediently leaned forward, resting his chin in Mu Jingyi’s palm, eyes sparkling with expectation.

“There’s a little more. Feels good. Even prettier.”

The praised kitty smiled proudly.

His white tail stood high behind him, clearly pleased.

He did not mind having his cheeks pinched.

He only cared that Daddy said he was pretty.
