Chapter 3: Satan’s Daughter Returns

When you think of Satan, you probably imagine a monstrous demon who embodies evil and spreads misfortune across the world.

Lucy had thought the same.

Before arriving here, she had pictured the Lord of Hell as a fearsome being with massive antlers sprouting from his head.

However, the reality before her was far from what she had imagined—and, in a different sense, it was even more shocking.

His neatly swept-back hair was a striking blend of black and white. His appearance was impeccable, exuding an air of authority and refinement. Clad in an ornate royal uniform, he radiated a dignified presence.

At first glance, Lucy’s impression of Satan was that he looked more like a saintly king of a noble land than the feared ruler of Hell.

He sat upon a grand, imposing throne, staring at Lucy with an unreadable gaze. Then, after a moment, his lips curled into the faintest smile.

If anything, he seemed… pleased.

Lucy muttered to herself, “Now he looks a little like a devil.”

Was he happy that his lost daughter had returned?

They studied each other in silence before Satan finally broke it.

“You have traveled far, my daughter. Please, take a seat.”

With a snap of his fingers, a maid appeared and placed a chair before Lucy. Without a word, she sat down.

This was a pivotal moment. She needed to stay sharp.

She had been told on her way here—she was Satan’s only daughter, lost long ago. She had been living unknowingly in a distant land until Dragos found her and brought her back.

By all accounts, there was no reason for her to be hostile. In fact, she might even find crucial information about the possession incident through this situation.

“Are you really my father?”

“Yes. You are the child of Satan Deviluke.”

“But… I still don’t know.”

“Of course, you must be confused. Even I was in disbelief when I first heard that you had been found. But you are undoubtedly my child. The powerful magic flowing within you is proof of that.”

His voice was gentle, devoid of hostility. In his gaze, there was warmth—something that helped Lucy feel slightly at ease.

On the other hand, Satan seemed unable to conceal his excitement. He had waited for this moment for a long time. After all, his only biological daughter had returned after what must have felt like an eternity.

A demon he might be, but he was also a father.

First of all… this man—no, even Satan himself—doesn’t realize that this is a game.

Lucy analyzed the situation. Since she had no idea how long she would be trapped in this world, she needed to gather as much information as possible.

“What happens to me now?”

“Don’t overthink it. You are simply returning to where you belong.”

“That means…”

Satan added the title she was hesitant to say aloud.

“You will become the sole princess of Helatour.”

A princess.

Lucy almost flinched at the thought. It was bad enough to be a fragile girl, but now she was expected to play the role of a princess?

Her fingers twitched, but she knew she couldn’t refuse.

She knew nothing about this world.

Even if she was only Level 100, there might be even stronger beings lurking somewhere. She wasn’t foolish enough to throw away the security she had just gained.

At least until I finish gathering information, I’ll stay here, she thought to herself.

With an awkward smile, she replied, “Then, I’ll be in your care from now on…”

“No need to be so formal. We are father and daughter.”

“Haha… But I do have a few questions.”

“What are they? Speak freely.”

There was one thing that didn’t quite add up when Dragos explained the situation to her.

“How did you lose me in the first place? I… I don’t remember anything.”

Satan, ruler of this land, was practically an emperor. It was difficult to imagine him losing his only daughter. There had to be more to the story.

Perhaps there was a clue hidden in the circumstances surrounding her birth.

But as soon as she posed the question, Satan’s demeanor shifted.

The excitement he had shown just moments before disappeared, replaced by an oppressive silence. His mouth remained firmly shut, as though he were unwilling to answer.

“That story is not meant for you to hear yet. We shall discuss it another time.”

“…??”

“Is there anything else you are curious about?”

Lucy hesitated but asked the next most important question.

“How do I leave the Demon Continent?”

Satan’s eyes widened slightly, as if surprised by the question.

“I will ask this just to confirm… Why do you wish to know?”

“…I’m just curious.”

“Heh. Instincts, I see.”

“??”

Satan chuckled to himself before continuing.

“Do you know why we are trapped here?”

“No.”

“It is simple. We lost the Great War.”

“The Great War?”

“A war between gods, humans, and demons. We were defeated and sealed here by the combined forces of the three great powers.”

So that was it. A battle between the gods, humans, and demons.

“So… is there a way to break the seal?”

“Not yet, but one day, I will find a way.”

In other words, even he didn’t know.

You could have just said that from the start…

Just as Lucy was starting to grow bored, a knock echoed through the audience chamber. A soldier rushed in, his face pale.

Satan’s brow furrowed.

“How dare you interrupt? Can’t you see I am meeting my daughter?”

“Forgive me, Your Majesty, but there is no time to delay. You must march to the northern front immediately.”

“Tsk. Understood. I will depart shortly.”

Satan clicked his tongue in irritation and rose from his throne.

“I wanted to speak with you longer, but it seems fate has other plans.”

“Where are you going?”

“To war. The northern forces are causing trouble again.”

“Then what about me?”

“I have instructed the royal family to treat you with the utmost respect. You will have no trouble here.”

With that, he turned and strode toward the exit.

Left alone in the grand chamber, Lucy hesitated before whispering softly, “Then… take care.”

Satan paused for a brief moment, then gave a small smile and waved before disappearing through the doors.

A Princess’s Life Begins

After the audience, Lucy was entrusted to three maids.

Each of them was stunningly beautiful and treated her with the utmost respect, just as Satan had promised.

They helped her bathe, dressed her in clean garments, and prepared an extravagant meal to satisfy her hunger.

Though initially uncomfortable with the unfamiliar princess treatment, Lucy quickly adapted.

The royal bath was heavenly, and the food was exquisite, rivaling even modern cuisine.

Yet, one thing irked her.

The dress.

A pristine white gown. A dress, of all things.

Having always adhered to a dark and menacing aesthetic in Ragnarok, this outfit felt completely wrong.

She had tried to request pants, but the maids adamantly refused. Dressing a royal princess in anything but the finest gowns was unthinkable to them.

I’ll find something in my inventory later…

Soon, the maids led her to her new quarters.

The moment she opened the door, she was met with a horrifying sight.

Pink. Everywhere.

She stared at the princess-themed room in utter silence as the maids clapped, convinced they had outdone themselves.

Meanwhile, Lucy thought to herself, First, I need to hide those teddy bears. Then, look for my pants.
