Hall didn’t head straight back through the secret passage.
He figured that if he returned by the same route, he’d probably run into people from the Judgment Bureau.
So, he found another way out — heading toward the Sixth District Underground Street’s drainage system. After walking along the channel for a while, he finally saw daylight.
By now, the Judgment Bureau and the White Knights had more or less completely taken over the defense of the Sixth District Underground Street.
So only a few minutes later, he ran into some Judgment Bureau officers. Hall didn’t bother to avoid them.
Instead, he went right up and greeted them.
He even explained about how he had helped Leticia delay things earlier during the rescue.
He didn’t lie — because if a lie got exposed, it would just require an even bigger lie to patch over.
He simply wrapped up the account by saying that he had lured away those Xia Kingdom spies, and had escaped into the Sixth District Underground Street sewers as a result.
It was, in short — flawless.
He didn’t say much more, only asked if Leticia and the others were safe.
The answer was that Leticia, along with Moyel and Himan, had gone to look for him.
Hall thought for a moment. If he met Leticia and the others right now, they might insist on exchanging intel.
So, staying in character, he simply left them with, “What? As long as they’re fine, that’s all that matters.”
Originally, he’d been tempted to add a line asking Leticia to come personally to the Faxtius estate to thank him — but then remembered the school situation. If he said that, she might actually come.
So he left it at that and departed straightaway.
When Hall returned to the Faxtius estate, dusk was already falling.
Lov was in the vineyard, picking grapes cultivated on the family grounds — but the outfit she was wearing made even Hall feel…
…that it was far too bold.
That back was so pale, those legs so beautiful.
Yes, she was wearing an apron, but it was somewhere between a nude apron and a regular one — not as revealing as the former, not as modest as the latter.
From behind, one could see only two white crossed straps and a large pale-pink bow.
If someone wanted to make a move on this girl, it would be far too easy.
And of course, from the rear, he could also catch sight of the little heart-shaped ribbon on her underwear.
“You’re back, Young Master. How was your day?”
Lov had heard Hall’s footsteps. Originally, she hadn’t planned to turn around — imagining that Hall would quietly walk up behind her and hug her from the back.
If things turned a little ambiguous, all the better.
But she also knew Hall wouldn’t do that, so she turned to face him ahead of time.
“Not bad. Just got held up a bit — something happened in the Sixth District.”
“That’s good. So, when are you planning to leave Saint Louis, Young Master?”
From the moment Hall had said that morning that he was leaving Saint Louis, Lov had been thinking about it nonstop.
And she thought it was wonderful — if he left, those other women wouldn’t be able to find him, and she would be the only one by his side.
“After this incident is wrapped up…”
By now, his rescue of Leticia and Moyel should have been reported to the higher-ups at the Judgment Bureau. All he needed to do was wait for their decision.
At present, Ye Wangxue — “Chick Phoenix” — had already returned to the Xia Kingdom.
And Mandosha Flower, after this incident, would return to the Salvation Church according to the game’s plotline.
Even if his suspicions weren’t completely cleared, the tense atmosphere in Saint Louis would ease, making it the best time to leave.
If he delayed any longer, he truly wouldn’t be able to stall.
Right now, he had to avoid Himan, Christine, Leticia, and still be on guard in case Ye Wangxue came to find him after escaping her marriage.
There were simply too many heroines to avoid.
“As long as I can get out of Saint Louis smoothly, I’ll be safe before the East–West Continent war breaks out.”
At the same time.
In the Sixth District Underground Street.
Leticia and Himan had just learned from the Judgment Bureau that Hall had already left.
This made Himan irritated — he’d just gone straight home?
He’d clearly saved Leticia and Moyel… did that mean he was actually on par with Moyel in strength?
Unimaginable.
She had a head full of questions and wanted to confront Hall.
Leticia, upon hearing the news, merely said, “As long as Hall’s fine, that’s good.”
Then she took Moyel and headed home.
But she felt a little regret — she hadn’t managed to buy the succubus blood.
What now?
If she went through family channels, she could get it quickly — but she’d be found out, and then questioned about why she was buying such dangerous items.
In the future, she’d still have to prowl places like the Underground Street.
“Moyel, the Adventurer’s Guild should have quite a few adventurers who specialize in selling their loot, right?”
“Ah, yes, milady — by the way, what was it you were looking to buy?”
“Something very important.”
This time, Leticia’s eyes didn’t waver; she looked completely serious.
In the next few days, Hall attended school as usual.
What puzzled him was that Himan kept avoiding him — yet in class, he could always sense her gaze drifting toward him.
But the moment he looked back, Himan would immediately turn away.
After a few rounds of this, Hall just stopped paying attention.
He didn’t know what she was thinking — but whatever.
This sort of life actually gave him a rare bit of peace.
That said, there was something else giving him a headache. Ever since that Theology Day when he had directly interpreted Christine’s words, a number of girls from the Theology Faculty had started coming to him with questions.
Those questions weren’t hard for him, and he was happy enough to answer them.
But Himan seemed to haunt him during these moments — maybe afraid he’d try something indecent with the Theology girls.
“Sigh… how many more days before I can slip out of Saint Louis?”
After school today, Hall was as idle as ever.
The announcement board at Holy Light University usually had something new posted.
He glanced at it and saw…
A notice from a few students planning to form a group to explore the Demon God’s Labyrinth outside the city, recruiting members.
His first reaction on seeing it wasn’t to join — but to remember that he had planned to retrieve some treasures from the labyrinth that could only be obtained through puzzle-solving.
By this point in the plot, the first forty floors had more or less been cleared and purified of monsters by adventurers and the Church working together — which meant…
As long as no one else had taken them, Hall could collect all the puzzle treasures from the first forty floors.
“I really do need a new weapon. Knight’s Azure completely shattered the night after my duel with Ye Wangxue. Feels like I got a fake — it’s supposed to have one of the highest durability ratings in the game.”
Buying a weapon was out of the question. Even as a duke’s son, his pocket money wasn’t enough to casually buy something above rare-tier, let alone a heritage-tier weapon.
As for something like Moonbound, a legendary-tier weapon — those were basically priceless and never on the market.
Just then, a familiar voice spoke at his ear.
“Hall, are you interested in the Demon God’s Labyrinth? The White Knights happen to have a routine patrol mission in its safe zone. Want to come with me?”
