Chapter 38: The Saintess’s Humiliation and the Teacher’s Fury

At the summons of the war horn in Allyrose’s hand, the demonic lizards, which had only just retreated, instantly surged back, encircling them from all directions.

Standing nearby, Luo Jia blinked in confusion. Moments later, as he observed the crimson glow shimmering within the demonic lizards’ eyes, the Demon Lord seemed to grasp the situation.

A faint chuckle escaped his lips as he subtly channeled his magic.

[Enhancement Magic – All demonic lizards gain 100 attribute points!]

[Bloodlust Magic – All demonic lizards enter a berserk state!]

And finally, naturally, came the Taunt Magic!

The silver-haired youth subtly pointed a finger. In that instant, every demonic lizard’s gaze locked onto Vivian, who, at that moment, shone brightest amidst the throng.

Then—

The very next second, the demonic lizards charged once more! The students instantly descended into a chaotic panic.

Only Vivian, a faint, disdainful smile playing on her lips, rose to her feet. She then swept her staff, summoning an orbital cannon to descend from the heavens.

‘What a joke,’ she thought. ‘I am the Saintess…’

“Don’t be afraid, everyone! No matter how many magical beasts appear, Vivian can handle them all!”

The blonde loli cried out, then unleashed a confident barrage upon the demonic lizards surging towards her. In an instant, the students’ eyes were dazzled and disoriented by the continuously flashing light cannons.

While she projected an image of immense confidence, the truth was that Vivian dared not be careless against these monsters.

Only after a sustained, saturation bombardment did she finally allow a slight smile to grace her lips, lowering her staff with a gasp.

‘My magic… my magic is almost depleted,’ she thought. ‘It should be fine now, right?’

The blonde loli wiped a bead of sweat from her brow. As she confidently lifted her gaze, she suddenly realized something was amiss.

‘Something feels… off.’

Hiss—

The moment the swirling dust settled, Vivian was met only by a chorus of monstrous roars.

On the ground, hardly any demonic lizards had fallen. Instead, they all stood unmoving, their gaping maws revealing rows of sharp teeth.

Their scarlet pupils fixed on Vivian, causing an involuntary shiver to run down her spine.

They charged again—!

“Y-yah—ahhhhhh—!”

The moment dozens of demonic lizards surged upon Vivian, the blonde loli completely abandoned any pretense of Saintess-like decorum.

She simply huddled, screaming, with her hands clamped over her head. Jason, Arius, and Tok, who were nearby, immediately drew their swords and rushed forward.

The guards, too, surged into the fray, desperately trying to pull Vivian from the overwhelming encirclement.

The scene immediately devolved into utter chaos. Timid students shrieked and trembled, while many others simply stood frozen, paralyzed by fear.

Just as the situation threatened to spiral further out of control, a figure sprang into action.

Yuna, who had been at the back of the group, swiftly charged forward. Her right hand clenched into a fist, erupting in a burst of flames.

She then roared at the men who were haphazardly dragging Vivian across the ground:

“Everyone, get out of the way!”

The moment her words faded, a fiery fist shot skyward, striking a demonic lizard.

With their aggro now redirected, the creatures turned their attention to Yuna, launching a frenzied assault. The red-haired woman, her hands wreathed in flames, immediately began a fierce counterattack on all sides.

‘Oh dear—’

Watching the scene steadily devolve, Allyrose instantly felt a pang of regret.

‘Damn it,’ she thought, ‘I forgot that Yuna-chan, as a teacher, still has to help her students. I can’t let my esteemed mentor get hurt!’

Moments later, the young woman gripped the horn in her hand once more. She sighed.

Unfortunately, after a brief examination, Allyrose couldn’t discern how to use the horn to dispel the summoned magical beasts. ‘Perhaps it doesn’t even have that function?’ she wondered.

A moment later, Allyrose reluctantly drew her Holy Light Energy Sword, preparing to infuse it with power. Yet, before she could, she paused.

‘Wait,’ she realized. ‘W-wait a minute?!’

‘How is Yuna almost done killing them all?’

Indeed, just as Allyrose was about to unleash her ultimate weapon, the red-haired woman was already taking down several creatures with each punch.

Simply by swinging her fists left and right, she systematically decimated every demonic lizard that surged toward her.

She, herself, though panting heavily, bore not a single scratch.

‘No… Wait, what?!’

This truly terrifying display even astonished Luo Jia, who had been observing from the side.

‘To think there are still such formidable individuals among humans,’ he mused.

Finally, after she had choked the last demonic lizard with her bare hands, Yuna’s demeanor finally settled. Wiping sweat from her brow, she let out a sigh of relief and sank onto the ground.

However, the others nearby paid her no mind. The instant the chaos subsided, Arius, Jason, and Tok, who had been close to Vivian, immediately rushed to her side.

They grasped Vivian’s dirt-streaked hand, asking anxiously:

“Vivian, are… are you alright?”

“Ugh—”

Vivian hadn’t actually sustained any serious injuries. At most, she had a few superficial scrapes, mostly from that oaf Tok dragging her along the ground.

Yet, her current disgraceful state, coupled with the peculiar stares from the many onlookers, filled her with constant apprehension.

Moments later, the blonde loli covered her face and burst into tears. Her crying prompted an immediate reaction: Arius anxiously swept her into his arms, then bellowed to the surrounding crowd:

“The Saintess is injured! The training course is suspended! Quickly, Headmaster, summon someone to immediately escort Vivian back to the Royal Capital for treatment!”

Hearing this, Allyrose blinked in utter bewilderment. ‘No, wait, don’t!’ she thought.

‘This isn’t right,’ she mused. ‘What about the calamity-level magical beasts we were promised? We haven’t even encountered them yet, and the entire thing is being called off just because Vivian rolled around on the ground a couple of times?’

‘Oh, forget it…’

Allyrose sighed, deciding not to press the issue for now. Indeed, her immediate priority was Yuna-sensei.

The very next second, the black-haired girl with long, straight hair quickly jogged to Yuna-sensei’s side. She then squatted beside the red-haired woman, extending a hand to poke her teacher’s tightly closed eyelids.

“Hiss—are you out of your mind, you little rascal?! This old lady isn’t dead yet!”

“Cough cough… Hehe, just checking on you, Sensei~ Are you alright? We’ll be leaving soon, you know…”

Before the assembled students, Allyrose flashed a mischievous grin at Yuna. The red-haired woman immediately let out an exasperated sigh.

Moments later, she opened her weary eyes and offered Allyrose a faint, tired smile.

“Don’t worry, I’m not dying… just out of energy. You all go ahead; I’ll rest here for a bit, then I’ll leave.”

“Hmm… but that’s not good at all! No, no, it’s too dangerous for you to stay here alone…”

“What are you two dawdling for?! Can’t you see the Saintess is in a dire state? Hurry up and move!”

Witnessing Allyrose and Yuna still bantering, the irritable, green-haired simp, Tok, immediately roared at them with frantic urgency.

Allyrose immediately furrowed her brows. ‘Tok doesn’t seem to have much respect for the school’s teachers, does he?’ she thought. ‘Isn’t Yuna-chan’s life just as valuable? He’s acting as if Vivian is already at death’s door…’

However, just as she turned to argue with Tok, the ground beneath the young woman’s feet began to tremble with increasing intensity.
