X
The Demon Continent
The continent was divided into four major factions: the Eastern Forces, the Western Forces, the Northern Forces, and Helators (the Central Forces). Chaos was a daily occurrence, with never a moment of peace.
The main reason was simple—Demons loved to fight. But another contributing factor was their confinement to a single continent.
Because of this, war, rebellion, and terrorism were common occurrences. Among all the factions, the Northern Forces stood at the center of most conflicts.
They were known as the “fighting race,” and they strongly opposed the rule of Satan, the current supreme authority of the Demon Continent.
The reason was ideological difference.
If Satan’s system prioritized order and unity, then the Northern Forces upheld only one doctrine—survival of the fittest.
Like oil and water, the two ideologies could never mix and were prone to explosive clashes at any moment.
That ongoing conflict now interfered with something as personal as Satan’s reunion with his daughter.
Clink. Clink.
The sound of armor shifting echoed as Satan led the Fourth Knight Division northward.
The Northern Forces had dared to invade his territory, and Satan wasn’t one to tolerate such insolence.
Leading the charge himself, he rode ahead, flanked by Lovolf, the Fourth Knight Commander, and a thousand elite knights.
Satan’s face, already sharp and intense, looked even darker than usual.
It wasn’t the first time the Northern Forces had caused trouble. But today, something made him particularly irritated.
One of his closest aides, Dragos, a Great Demon, quickly picked up on it.
“This provocation is poorly timed,” Dragos muttered.
Satan let out a bitter chuckle. “You could say I’m a little excited this time.”
“Then shall we take care of this on our own?”
Satan shook his head, pushing aside his personal emotions, and returned to a serious demeanor.
“The battlefield this time is Berhelm. That means he might show up.”
“If that’s the case, we can’t afford to go easy on them,” Dragos said.
“Of course not. We’ll make sure they pay for this mistake—with their lives.”
Dragos smirked. “Then this battle should be entertaining.”
The two continued to ride side by side, their conversation brimming with bloodlust.
After a moment, Satan’s expression softened slightly as he asked, “Dragos, what did you think of Lucy?”
Dragos hesitated. “How could I possibly evaluate Satan’s daughter?”
“I’m allowing it. Speak freely.”
After clearing his throat, Dragos finally answered, “She’s… clever. Too clever for her age. And in terms of appearance and charisma, she’s remarkable. However…”
“However?”
“If I may be blunt… she doesn’t act like a typical girl her age.”
Satan narrowed his eyes. “Explain.”
“Before we departed for battle, I received a report that she refused to bathe and caused an uproar over wanting to wear pants instead of a dress.”
“Hmm…”
“Doesn’t that suggest she’s had a difficult past—one that never allowed her to live as a normal girl?”
Satan fell silent.
Both he and Dragos exchanged meaningful glances, their thoughts lingering on Lucy, who was far away in the castle.
Meanwhile, back at Satan Castle, Lucy was shoving every single teddy bear into the closet.
The Bell Rings at Midnight
The day had been filled with strangeness, and now, it was time for bed.
But Lucy couldn’t sleep.
There were too many unanswered questions.
What happened to her original body?
Were there other players trapped in this world like her?
I need more information.
She walked over to the window, gazing at the massive metropolis beyond Satan Castle.
The city lights stretched endlessly, the capital a beacon of civilization.
That should be the perfect place to gather intel…
Determined, she retrieved a few key items from her inventory and laid them on the table.
[Mythical] Death Evasion Ring – Nullifies any attack once.
[Mythical] Immortal’s Pendant – Revives the user immediately upon death.
[Mythical] Bracelet of the Dead – Increases magic recovery by 30% and grants magic absorption.
[Heroic] Hermes’ Robe – A cloak that allows flight.
Placing a hand on her chest, she felt her heartbeat.
This body was alive.
If she died here, there was no guarantee she would resurrect like in the game.
Better safe than sorry.
“At least I won’t be defeated easily with this setup…”
With that, Lucy equipped the items, donned her cloak, and cast an illusion spell over her bed—making it look like she was still asleep.
Now, even if the maids checked in, they wouldn’t suspect anything.
Activating her “Upper Transparency” skill, she slipped out through the window and took flight.
The cool night air hit her face—a sensation she had never felt in the game.
She was about to soar over the castle walls when—
Something felt off.
Using her Spiritual Eye that could sense magical power, she sensed a barrier surrounding the castle.
“A siege barrier?”
A standard defensive measure in Ragnarok.
It was an intermediate-level barrier. Breaking through with force would alert the magicians who set it up.
Instead, she muttered, “Magic Skill – Teleporter.”
A blue light engulfed her body.
And just like that—she was outside the barrier.
Flawless.
With one last glance at Satan Castle, she turned toward the capital.
The Streets of Helgen
From the sky, Helgen, the capital of Helatores, looked like a city straight out of the Renaissance.
Colorful stone buildings lined neatly paved roads, with a canal cutting through the heart of the city.
The sheer size of the metropolis was staggering. Even at a glance, it was evident that this was a highly developed society for what appeared to be a medieval world.
Landing in a dark alley, Lucy removed her invisibility magic and pulled her robe’s hood low over her face.
She blended into the crowd, stepping onto the bustling main street.
Even at midnight, the bars were packed with demons of various races—Beastmen, Dark Elves, and even Alien-like beings.
‘So, Beastmen are classified as demons here too?’
As she wandered through the streets, her gaze fell upon a coin.
A man was handing it to a bartender—a gold coin engraved with an Ouroboros.
It was the same currency used in Ragnarok.
Lucy smirked.
She had 70,000 gold coins stored in her inventory.
If money works the same way here, then…
I might be ridiculously rich.
A Gloomy Encounter
At some point, she left the lively main street and found herself in a darker, dirtier district.
The atmosphere was completely different.
On the side of the road, a homeless man lay curled up under a thin cloth.
His overgrown beard and wolf ears made him stand out.
Lucy approached him.
“Excuse me.”
“Huh!?”
The man jolted awake, eyes groggy with confusion before narrowing in suspicion.
“What do you want, kid?”
“Why are you sleeping in a place like this?”
“Are you stupid? Can’t you tell just by looking?”
“…So, you’re homeless?”
The man scowled but then noticed something in Lucy’s hand.
A gold coin.
His eyes widened, his hand instinctively reaching out.
“G-Give me that…”
Lucy smirked.
“Answer my questions first, and I might just hand it over.”
The man gulped.
“F-Fine! Ask away!”
She had his full attention now.
First, she asked about the prices of goods in this world.
“What can I do with this gold?”
“With gold? Of course, You can do anything. With one gold coin, you can easily buy hundreds of meals.”
“Hundreds of meals? Roughly speaking, how much would a worker have to work to earn this?”
“I’ve heard that it takes several months for a commoner to earn such an amount, but I’ve never worked myself.”
So, even one gold coin is a lot of money.
With this, she could see how ridiculously large her capital was.
“Okay, then the next question is… Do you know about the existence of players?”
“Players…? What are they?”
He didn’t seem to know.
Lucy didn’t expect much, since Dragos didn’t know either, so she ignored him and moved on to the next question.
“Next, about the Demon Continent….”
She then asked about the current state of Helatores, the existence of the surrounding countries, and even the small details of their cultures.
These questions could have been considered a little suspicious, but the man, being fixated on the gold coin in front of him, answered her questions without any sign of suspicion.
Thanks to him, Lucy was able to obtain detailed information about the Demon Continent she was currently on, and as promised, she handed over one gold coin and left.
Walking down the street, she had arrived at a back alley in the slums without even realizing.
She had gathered enough information, and a lot of time had passed, so it was time to go back.
“Hmm?”
As she prepared her return, she suddenly noticed figures emerging from the shadows.
They surrounded her—street thugs.
And standing among them was…
The homeless man she had just paid.
“Brother, it’s that kid!”
