Chapter 40: Stopping the Yandere Sister

Hall felt his strength draining; he realized he had likely been ensnared by Lorraine’s scheme.

But why so soon?

‘In the game’s plot, Lorraine should still be a good, obedient girl right now.’

Even if Lorraine knew that Christine and Leticia had been getting closer to him recently.

It was only ‘closer.’

He’d never brought either of them home, and Lorraine had never personally witnessed him alone with Leticia or Christine.

‘And this is enough to trigger a special event?’

Hall’s mind went numb.

He had planned to be on guard when going to Lorraine’s room to see the painting, but he never expected it to happen so suddenly.

Regardless, he had to pull his hazy consciousness back.

And the method to do so was easy.

It was, of course, the mental formula from theology used to resist negative effects.

So Hall began to circulate the Mind-Clearing Sacred Art, and his consciousness gradually returned, though he had not yet regained control of his limbs.

In his vision, Lorraine had already perched on his lap like a small bird. Then, he watched as this petite, usually frail-looking girl slowly lifted the hem of her nightgown and sat down, facing him.

Lorraine’s posture was completely different from Leticia’s that day.

Leticia had sat on Hall’s lap with her back to him. Despite some wiggling from her little bottom, he could still keep things under control if needed.

Now, Lorraine was sitting directly on Hall’s right thigh.

Her own legs were wrapped around his right thigh.

Her whole body faced his chest, her breath coming in slow, hot pants.

‘If he didn’t regain control of his body, in a few more minutes, regaining it would probably be useless.’

Hall knew very well that Lorraine wasn’t like Leticia, who played with coy hesitation; when his sister played, she played for real.

Plus, Lorraine was a hidden yandere. He had no doubt.

‘In the future, Lorraine could use today’s incident as leverage to control his actions.’

Indeed, thinking back carefully on some of Lorraine’s routes in the game, even if the player didn’t choose the [Replenish Mana with Hall] option that day, this heroine had a chance of suddenly escalating things.

Other details supported this: players could find that even if they intentionally controlled the number of times Hall replenished mana to prevent him from being stabbed, he would still grow thinner and more listless by the day.

With this in mind, Hall intensified the circulation of the theological art in his mind.

In this life and the last, he had never believed in the gods so piously.

He would not get a Bad End.

Because unlike the original Hall in the game, his theology skill was not a pathetic [D].

‘I can make it.’

Just as he saw Lorraine about to lift his pant leg with the tip of her foot.

His hands could move.

“Huh?”

Lorraine also sensed something was wrong. She looked up from his chest.

She saw that Hall’s expression had returned to normal.

Just as she was wondering if the eye drops she made with the succubus feather had lost their effect, a wave of panic rising in her heart.

A sudden clap of thunder exploded outside.

It scared Lorraine so much that she instantly curled up in Hall’s arms.

This was genuine fear.

Hall knew this too; the in-game character profile card clearly stated that Lorraine was afraid of thunder.

Originally, he had planned to pick Lorraine up and give her a spanking as a lesson after regaining control of his body.

Now, Hall’s thoughts had gone through several twists.

Since Lorraine already showed yandere tendencies, simply avoiding her might not be enough.

‘Can you even call it a yandere if you can just avoid them?’

‘Therefore, the best way to deal with a yandere is to prevent the yandere from having an episode in the first place!’

But the thunderclap had instantly reverted Lorraine to her original self. She was such a cute little sister; would it be too harsh to give her a hard spanking now?

So he didn’t expose her, only saying in a deep voice.

“Lorraine, use less dangerous items next time. If brother finds out, your little bottom will be in trouble.”

“Hmm, brother?”

Her whispered reply was tinged with ambiguity.

“What you need to do now is study hard, don’t worry about other things.”

His tone was slightly firmer this time.

He needed to stop Lorraine from pulling so many stunts.

And in terms of strength, Lorraine’s route hadn’t even started yet. He was definitely stronger than her. His biggest weakness in the game, theology, had long been shored up.

So, before Lorraine officially grew into her power, he was not in immediate danger of being stabbed.

Since she had already started acting up, he could only use a mix of soft and hard tactics. If the soft approach couldn’t straighten her out, he would have to rely on hard power to keep her in check, one day at a time.

“But brother…”

When he scolded her, she looked as if she was about to cry.

“No buts. Your studies are the priority.”

Hall understood that if he was deceived by tears now, what awaited him was a future of prison and bloody tears.

“Then let brother let me sit here and eat… I’ll study hard when I go back.”

Although Lorraine was tempted to do something more outrageous, she was also afraid of Hall getting angry. In her memory, her brother rarely got angry.

And the “here” she was referring to was, of course, Hall’s lap.

“Fine, but don’t move around.”

Hall didn’t refuse, but he added a condition.

He had to instill a concept in Lorraine: thinking about being clingy with him all day was not acceptable. If magic couldn’t make the yandere retreat, then he’d use physical means.

Lorraine hadn’t had contact with the other heroines yet; she had no backup.

After that, Lorraine sat quietly on Hall’s lap, not fidgeting or doing anything else.

Setting aside her hidden yandere attribute, she was, at her core, a very well-behaved sister.

Occasionally, she would even carefully cut some fruit for Hall with a knife and fork and feed it to his mouth.

At this moment, the wind and rain outside gradually intensified.

The thunder became more frequent. Outside the glass skylight, with its intricate patterns, a massive bolt of lightning streaked across the sky.

The thunder, roaring like a giant beast, scared Lorraine so much that she dropped her knife and fork, covering her ears and curling up like a small animal.

Just then, the sound of a door being pushed open by a howling gust of wind rushed in.

Lorraine became even more flustered, looking back at Hall pitifully, a far cry from the girl who had tried to control him with a succubus feather earlier.

Her large pupils were filled with the words “Brother, save me.”

But Hall, faced with his pitiable sister, didn’t react for the moment.

It wasn’t that he was too cold-blooded, but that his attention had been drawn by the sound of the door being pushed open.

He looked toward the main entrance of the Faxtius family’s hall, where a tall woman in a pale yellow noble’s dress was standing.

It was Himan.

Even with the dim light from that direction, Hall could still see that she seemed to have put on makeup; her already beautiful face was radiant.

But because the rain outside was so heavy, the ends of his cousin’s hair were dripping with water. In her left hand was a closed parasol, and in her right, she held a bag.

Inside seemed to be some food and drink, as well as a protruding scroll-like object.

‘Why is Himan here at this time?’

Hall looked at her.

He was very confused. Hadn’t they just said goodbye on campus this afternoon, and he’d said he was going to the Demon God’s Labyrinth alone? What was she doing here now?

And Himan was also looking at Hall.

Looking at Hall and Lorraine, who was on his lap and looked like she was about to cry.

She had been thinking that Hall was going to the Demon God’s Labyrinth, which was somewhat dangerous, and that she might have truly misunderstood him these past few years.

So she braved the heavy rain, planning to bring the map of the Demon God’s Labyrinth she had bought through connections at the Adventurer’s Guild for Hall to use.

Only to suddenly witness this scene.

She asked instinctively.

“Hall, what are you doing?”
