X
It was night.
The attic balcony in the rear garden of Rohn Cathedral.
Christine, in a sheer dress, leaned against the railing and gazed at the moon.
Lately, she hadn’t been able to sleep.
Especially since she’d gotten the news about Hall.
That’s right, although Christine hadn’t seen Hall since Theology Day, she had, legitimately, been having Maria go out to find news about Hall every day.
At first, Maria was reluctant because she thought there were too many girls around Hall.
“Maria, have you forgotten that he can interpret the words of the divine realm? That’s why I met him. He could have been a person of faith. God bestowed upon him the wisdom to be in this world, and my mission is to make him use this wisdom to interpret the words of the divine realm for righteous purposes.”
Maria was very moved by these words and quickly said, “You deserve your title, Lady Christine. I was too hasty.”
Then, she happily helped collect the recent events of Hall’s life.
As a result, Maria found his life to be ordinary.
Hall’s daily routine was practically the same, the school and home routine repeating over and over.
There was basically nothing of note to record.
Until today, Maria suddenly learned that Hall had been chosen to participate in the swordsmanship exchange competition with the delegation from the Kingdom of Cateline.
She then came back to tell Christine.
And then Christine couldn’t sleep.
She knew what happened after Theology Day, of course.
Hall had saved Leticia in the Underground Street; his strength was likely not inferior to Moyel’s.
It probably had something to do with that power she sensed within him.
The divine had pointed her to Hall, and she wanted to bind Hall to her.
But Leticia liked Hall—it was a foregone conclusion. There were a lot of Hall’s fan girls in the Seminary lately too.
Did she have to wait any longer?
Christine had originally planned to approach Hall first, slowly making him her exclusive property. She didn’t want to rely too much on Hall’s power unless it was absolutely necessary.
But it seemed that, at this point, she might not have a choice.
She had to act as soon as possible.
Like flowers blooming, enchanting the bees.
The night wind blew, and her golden hair danced in the moonlight.
She placed her right hand on her ear.
Her left index finger tapped the railing.
Finally, with a feeling of familiarity that she still couldn’t let settle in her heart, she returned to her room.
It was Friday.
Hall got up early.
Today was the day of the swordsmanship exchange with the Cateline delegation, and the exchange would be held at the Swordsmanship Arena.
Holy Light University had deep pockets, with a special arena built for both magic and swordsmanship.
When Lov heard, she immediately found Hall the suit she thought was the most handsome.
However, the suit wasn’t actually that special. It was a similar style to the one Hall had been wearing when he bought Lov from the human traffickers.
The first love filter.
“Young Master, teach those people a lesson. Lov knows that you have the strength, Young Master.”
She would never question Hall; she believed that Hall could win at everything.
There was also a little incident when Hall bought her from the human traffickers that year.
The traffickers saw Hall, who wasn’t very old and was dressed formally, and figured he was a fat sheep.
So, they threatened him.
“Young Master, it’s not bad that you came to our Underground Street to buy a woman at your age, but the merchandise you bought is top-quality, though she hasn’t matured yet, she’s very fresh. Do you have to pay more? You don’t want people to know about you buying a toy here…”
But Hall silenced Lov, who was still trembling, with a single sentence.
“I am the second son of the Faxtius family. I will eliminate those who don’t keep their mouths shut based on the situation.”
The traffickers also didn’t expect Hall to dare to announce his name directly, because even the nobles in their circle had to be careful not to be discovered by their wives when buying women there.
But Hall had only been thirteen when he bought Lov.
However, the Faxtius family’s name was indeed a little scary.
The Duke’s power was not something they could afford to provoke.
So, they stopped threatening Hall about the leak.
And when Hall brought Lov back that day, he only told the people in the mansion that she was a girl he had found by chance, and she had gotten separated from her family, so she was begging for food in the alleys.
Because she was homeless, he brought her back after seeing how pitiful she was.
Lov liked Hall for a reason. At least, up until now, the fact that she had been sold by her parents to the human traffickers, and Hall bought her from the human traffickers in the Underground Street, were secrets only known between them.
Even then, many of the Faxtius family’s servants often suggested that she should take some time off to go back and look for her parents.
But Lov would always refuse with a smile.
To her, in her current state, Hall was home.
Himan came early today.
For her, attending this swordsmanship exchange competition was indeed worthy of attention.
This not only represented her personally but also represented the Holy Light Sword Association, the Von Braun family, and, on a larger scale, the Papal State.
And the person presiding over this competition was still the vice-principal from Theology Day, Earl Lied, along with Dean Morgan from the Swordsmanship Academy.
Dean Morgan was not only the dean of the Swordsmanship Academy, but twenty years ago, he was also the president of the Holy Light Sword Association, and he had long since obtained the titles of [Throne of Holy Light], as certified by the College of Cardinals, and [Throne of Swords] from the Basel Empire in the west of the Papal State.
To make an analogy, he was an academician-level figure recognized by two countries simultaneously.
The gold content was quite high.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t be the dean of the entire department.
Dean Morgan was quite busy, and five years ago, he had said he wanted to strive for the [Throne of Holy Light] of the Papal State or the [Throne of Swords] of the Basel Empire during his lifetime, so he didn’t often show up at the Swordsmanship Academy’s events. Other than making appearances at the graduation ceremony, he left the work to the vice-dean.
But this time was extraordinary, not to mention that it was the first time in twenty years that the Kingdom of Cateline had sent a delegation for exchanges.
Second, the people attending the Swordsmanship Arena today included many figures of even greater caliber than him.
He didn’t dare to put on the airs of a swordsmanship master.
For example, there was Lady Leticia, who was currently perched on one leg, wearing a pair of white patterned white stockings, and drinking high-quality red tea. Then there was Christine, who was chatting amicably with Earl Lied but seemed distracted.
Or the envoy from the Kingdom of Cateline to the Papal State—Marquis Chekhov.
The old man with a scar on his face had participated in the great war between the Kingdom of Cateline and the demon-king’s domain in the northwest in his early years and had fought against the demon-king’s servants.
It was said that he was stationed as the long-term ambassador in the embassy because, if the diplomatic situation between Cateline and the Papal State suddenly worsened, he could directly take people and run away.
It seemed that there was also a young female marquis in the Cateline delegation.
Then, the two young people from the Faxtius and Von Braun families needed to gain some recognition through this swordsmanship exchange.
In short, setting aside the nature of the competition, just the attendees themselves made this swordsmanship exchange very extraordinary.
Dean Morgan wasn’t the only one who sensed something extraordinary.
The reporters from various newspapers in Saint Louis had long swarmed and blocked the gates.
Waiting to get the first-hand reports.
Some of them had already come up with headlines.
—Breaking News! The First Swordsmanship Exchange in Twenty Years, Featuring Two Future Dukes.
—Ice-Breaking! The Small Sword Exchanges the Big Sword. This Competition Should Not Be Missed in This Lifetime.

And Hall had just arrived.
He looked at the reporters waiting outside the Swordsmanship Arena.
He only muttered,
“There are so many people.”
