On the western battlefield—nothing but scorched earth.
Black smoke coiled and rose like giant serpents, blotting out half the sky, as if the end of days had arrived.
The ground was cracked, all vegetation burned to ash.
The air was thick with the heavy stench of blood and the acrid scorch of magic, so choking that one could barely keep their eyes open.
Amid this dead, ruined wasteland, only a single figure stood proudly alone—Rivina.
Her red hair flowed freely like blazing flames.
Her crimson eyes swept across the vast demon army ahead, massive in number yet frozen in place.
Her lips curled into a crazed, cruel grin, her voice carried clearly across the battlefield by the wind.
“Come on then.
Why don’t any of you dare to step forward?”
Her voice was not loud.
Yet it was like an icy blade, stabbing straight into the hearts of every demon present.
All the demons here had heard of her.
The monster who grew stronger by devouring life and souls.
The madwoman once sealed by humanity.
The slaughtering god who had wiped out a thousand-strong force in a single night.
Hands gripping weapons trembled.
Feet unconsciously stepped backward.
No one wanted to be the first fool to rush forward and die.
In this suffocating standoff, a towering general with the body of a man and the head of a horse—the Chima General—roared in fury, shattering the silence.
“A mere human monster dares to be so arrogant!”
He wielded an enormous spear, its tip pointing straight at Rivina, his voice thunderous.
“Watch me, General Chima.
Today I’ll teach you what heaven and earth truly mean!”
Before the words had even fallen, he exploded forward like an arrow released from the bow.
The ground shattered beneath his hooves as he charged with overwhelming force, aiming straight for Rivina’s throat.
Facing an attack powerful enough to tear steel apart, Rivina did not dodge.
Instead, excitement burst into her eyes.
She grinned wide—and took the spear head-on with her bare body.
“Clang—!”
A piercing metallic shriek rang out.
The instant the spear struck her chest, its tip shattered like rotten wood.
Fragments flew outward as General Chima, carried by his own momentum, staggered forward.
His face was frozen in disbelief.
“How… how is this possible?!”
“What’s wrong?” Rivina tilted her head, her smile growing ever more deranged.
“Are you scared?”
Before the words had fully landed, she moved.
No flashy techniques.
Only the most primal, brutal violence.
One punch.
It slammed straight into Chima’s abdomen.
The sound of bones cracking rang out clearly.
Second punch.
It smashed into his chest, crushing armor inward as blood sprayed violently from his mouth.
Third punch.
Chima’s body flew backward like a kite with its string cut, tracing an arc through the air.
But the fight was not over.
Rivina tapped the ground with her toe and vanished like a phantom, catching up to Chima midair.
Another devastating punch.
This blow punched straight through his chest.
His heart was crushed into bloody pulp.
Bones shattered one after another.
General Chima did not even have time to scream before his life ended.
His corpse slammed heavily into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
“Next.”
Rivina licked the blood splattered at the corner of her lips, her eyes gleaming with bloodthirsty delight.
“Revenge for General Chima!”
“Kill her!”
At last, the demons erupted from their fear, surging toward her in a tide of rage.
Archers released volleys.
Mages began chanting large-scale spells, vowing to erase this human madwoman completely.
“Boom—!!!”
A colossal fireball exploded, covering dozens of meters.
Immediately after, storms of ice spears and raging lightning cascaded down together.
Dust and smoke blasted skyward.
The once-flat ground was blasted into a massive crater, as though struck by a falling meteor.
After a brief silence, a rasping laugh echoed from the depths of the crater.
The smoke slowly dispersed.
A figure rose leisurely from within.
Rivina was completely unharmed.
Not even her clothes were torn.
She spread her arms wide and laughed madly toward the sky.
“Exhilarating!
Come on!
What can you ants possibly do to me?!”
She did not wait.
She charged first.
Like a streak of red lightning, she plunged into the enemy ranks.
Her fingers came together like a blade, effortlessly piercing a warrior’s throat.
Then her hand plunged into his chest.
With a violent yank, she tore out a still-beating heart.
She stuffed it into her mouth and chewed greedily.
Crimson fluid ran down the corners of her lips.
As she swallowed, powerful life force and soul energy surged into her body.
Her aura swelled at a visible rate.
“Delicious.”
She grinned savagely, her gaze locking onto the next mage.
Before the spell could be completed, Rivina was already upon him.
A single palm strike.
The magic-laden shockwave shattered his shield instantly.
Then a punch slammed into his abdomen, shredding his internal organs.
Before his soul could even disperse, it was greedily devoured by her.
She grew fiercer with every battle.
Stronger with every kill.
Each death replenished her power.
Every drop of blood fed her madness.
She knew no fatigue.
She felt no pain.
Like a perpetual engine, she rampaged across the battlefield.
Demon corpses piled atop one another, forming mountains of flesh.
Blood soaked the land, staining yellow sand dark brown, then turning it pitch black.
The entire battlefield looked as if it had been drowned in ink that would never dry.
Sun rose and moon fell.
Stars wheeled across the sky.
The slaughter lasted three days and three nights.
When the final trace of resisting magic was extinguished, Rivina stood atop a mountain of corpses and seas of blood.
Her body was drenched in gore, like a valkyrie returned from hell.
She gazed down at the land beneath her feet, now blackened by endless blood.
She extended her tongue and licked her cracked lips, murmuring softly.
“Not enough…
Send more people…
Let me grow even stronger…”
At the demon border, within the frontline command camp.
Candlelight flickered within metal lamps, illuminating the tall figure of Bain, his skeletal body glowing faintly with eerie light.
He sat upon a throne made of piled bones, his fingers lightly tapping the tabletop.
“Click.
Clack.”
In his hand was a freshly delivered battle report.
Western battlefield—total annihilation.
Bain looked at the long list of fallen generals at the end of the report.
A cold smile slowly spread across his lips.
“Oh, Demon King… Demon King…
How long can you keep holding back, watching your army be slaughtered by a single madwoman?”
He casually tossed the report aside.
Blue flames danced within his eyes, filled with a victor’s arrogance.
Then his expression darkened, his voice sinking to icy coldness.
“However… Rivina is growing far too quickly.”
He murmured to himself.
“The more she devours, the closer her power comes to running out of control.
If a method to restrain her isn’t found soon, then even if my plan succeeds, the one who benefits in the end may not be me—but you humans.”
His fingers continued tapping the table as his thoughts raced, weighing how to place the next move on the board.
At that moment, a chilling distortion rippled through the air.
A hunched figure slowly emerged.
It was Eben, leader of the Lich Clan, appearing here in the form of a magical projection.
