Chapter 9: The Club

Back at the company, Shen Xiuzhu had almost finished handling his work.

He had originally planned to have dinner with Song Jingyao, only to discover that the desk beside him was already empty.

Although he had expected Song Jingyao might sneak away, actually seeing it still left him in a poor mood.

He walked over and lowered his gaze.

Then he picked up the sticky note stuck in the center of the desk.

Written across it in bold, messy handwriting were the words — I QUIT!

The sharp strokes reflected the owner’s rebellious personality perfectly.

The funniest part was the ugly-cute pig head drawn beside it, complete with an arrow labeling the pig as Shen Xiuzhu.

Shen Xiuzhu laughed softly.

“The drawing’s actually pretty good.”

So cute.

Exactly the same as back in high school.

He stared at the note for quite a while before finally checking the work he had assigned Song Jingyao earlier that day.

To his surprise, everything had been completed properly.

The smile on Shen Xiuzhu’s lips deepened.

And before leaving, he carefully folded the sticky note and slipped it into his pocket.

Meanwhile, the person Shen Xiuzhu found adorable was currently partying wildly at the club and having the time of his life.

Inside the rich brat group’s usual VIP room, several people were playing billiards competitively.

They casually gambled five-figure amounts as though it were pocket change.

Once Song Jingyao joined in, the money in everyone else’s pockets practically sprouted wings and flew away.

He was extremely skilled at billiards.

The others became miserable very quickly.

Losing money wasn’t the real problem.

The real problem was losing face.

Liang Ming’s billiards skills were terrible to begin with.

He was the first to shamelessly throw down his cue and quit.

Then he slung an arm around Song Jingyao’s shoulders and grinned mischievously.

“Brother Yao, heard the news yet?”

Song Jingyao replied lazily, “What news?”

Liang Ming leaned closer mysteriously and lowered his voice.

“Ever wanted to try what it’s like with a man?”

Song Jingyao froze instantly.

His heart skipped a beat as he thought his sexuality had somehow been exposed.

A trace of panic rose within him.

He clenched his fist and pretended to sound annoyed.

“What are you talking about?”

Liang Ming laughed.

“Don’t get mad, Brother Yao. I heard the third son of the Sun family got obsessed with some famous young male celebrity. He’s so lovestruck he even fell out with his family and embarrassed himself publicly. So I got curious. Are men really that good? They’re all hard and solid. Women are softer and nicer.”

Another spoiled rich kid in the group immediately chimed in.

“Doesn’t this club have male escorts? Just call some over and find out.”

Calling male escorts over just because they were curious and wanted something new really was peak rich brat behavior.

The whole group immediately started cheering and egging each other on.

Since they were already here to have fun, they naturally told the manager to bring people over right away.

Song Jingyao was surprised by how this situation had developed.

Outwardly, he claimed he wasn’t interested in men and told them to enjoy themselves.

But internally, his tiny inner self was already dancing excitedly in celebration.

He had originally thought he would need to wait until the supporting male character plotline ended before he could openly enjoy himself.

Who knew happiness would arrive like a tornado?

This wasn’t breaking character.

His terrible friends forced him into this.

He was absolutely not doing it willingly.

Song Jingyao was thrilled.

Not long afterward, the manager arrived with several handsome men.

The selection was surprisingly varied.

Tall and athletic types.

Elegant intellectual types wearing glasses.

Cute puppy-like younger guy types.

Shy and adorable types.

Since the manager knew these regular customers were trying male escorts for the first time, he had thoughtfully chosen men with naturally balanced physiques.

None of them were excessively muscular.

Even the athletic one looked slim in clothes and toned without them, specifically to avoid making the customers uncomfortable or resistant.

Since they had already agreed to play around, none of the rich brats planned to back out now.

Very quickly, everyone selected companions according to their own preferences to drink and chat with.

The one accompanying Song Jingyao was the puppy-like younger guy.

He had handsome features and a clean temperament, dressed casually in a white shirt and relaxed pants.

If placed in a school, he would definitely qualify as campus heartthrob material.

Song Jingyao wasn’t sure what to talk about, but the younger guy smoothly started a lighthearted topic first.

After chatting for a while, Song Jingyao realized that, as expected of a professional escort, he was extremely skilled at making people happy.

He was sweet-talking, humorous, and subtly flattering without making it obvious.

He made people relax naturally.

He sat very close, yet remained respectful and didn’t recklessly invade personal space.

Instead, he gradually tested the customer’s comfort level step by step.

Song Jingyao ended up thoroughly entertained.

He ordered several expensive bottles of liquor and had them all credited under the younger guy’s name.

The younger guy smiled brightly, revealing a cute little fang.

“Thank you, Brother Yao~”

Song Jingyao couldn’t help reaching out to rub his head.

Sure enough, his hair was soft and fluffy with an excellent texture.

The younger guy even rubbed affectionately against his palm, soft strands of hair slipping through his fingers.

He actually resembled Shen Xiuzhu when he was younger.

Though not quite as cute.

The moment that thought crossed his mind, Song Jingyao froze.

Why the hell was he suddenly thinking about the male protagonist again?

Stop that immediately.

Song Jingyao became briefly distracted and took a sip of alcohol before glancing elsewhere.

He nearly burst out laughing.

Everyone else had selected delicate pretty-boy types.

Only Liang Ming had completely gone off the usual path and chosen the muscular athletic escort.

That escort was even taller and broader than Liang Ming himself.

When they sat together, Liang Ming somehow ended up looking strangely delicate and dependent.

Combined with Liang Ming’s pale skin and handsome playboy appearance, it became impossible to tell who was accompanying whom anymore.

The muscular escort wasn’t very talkative.

But every now and then, he said something that seemed to amuse Liang Ming greatly.

Liang Ming kept drinking cup after cup of alcohol poured by the man.

As someone who hung around with Song Jingyao constantly, Liang Ming was naturally another famous rich second-generation heir known for loving chaos and excitement.

He was like an untamed wild horse with no reins — arrogant, reckless, and impossible to control.

Other than his parents and Song Jingyao, whose relationship with him was especially close, he listened to no one.

Because of that personality, his girlfriends rarely lasted longer than two months.

So seeing this escort successfully keep Liang Ming under control genuinely surprised Song Jingyao.

At that moment, an arm wrapped around Song Jingyao’s own.

He instinctively turned his head and saw the puppy-like younger guy staring at him with pitiful eyes.

In an aggrieved tone, he complained, “Why does Brother Yao keep looking at Edward? Am I not good enough?”

Song Jingyao coughed awkwardly, startled by the expression.

“…Edward is?”

The younger guy’s eyes immediately sparkled again.

Relieved, he smiled brightly.

“It’s good you don’t know. No need to know. Mm… does Brother Yao know my name?”

Song Jingyao paused.

After chatting for so long, he genuinely hadn’t paid attention.

His silence made the younger guy visibly more depressed.

Looking at him like that, Song Jingyao suddenly felt weirdly guilty, almost like a scumbag.

The younger guy muttered softly, “My name is Spencer.”

Song Jingyao smiled.

“That’s a nice name. It suits you.”

The moment he heard that, the younger guy seemed to grow an invisible wagging tail behind him.

He looked so excited he might actually bark happily at any moment while enthusiastically pouring more drinks for Song Jingyao.

Nobody in the club used their real names.

They all picked English names for work instead.

Song Jingyao realized these names probably weren’t chosen randomly either.

At least Edward and Spencer both looked vaguely like protagonists from American dramas.

One resembled a pale, handsome vampire.

The other looked like a timid and sensitive genius.

Between drinking, chatting, and playing games, time passed quickly.

Out of the corner of his eye, Song Jingyao noticed it was already ten o’clock.

So he decided it was time to head home.

After all, he had already left work early today.

If he stayed out any later, the male protagonist might personally come drag him home, and then his crimes would stack together into a double punishment.

The moment Song Jingyao said he was leaving, Spencer immediately looked reluctant to part with him.

That pitiful expression made Song Jingyao casually promise he’d come back to see him again next time.

The second the words left his mouth, he regretted it slightly.

But seeing that the other rich brats weren’t shocked at all, he relaxed.

After all, who would ever imagine that this group of decadent second-generation heirs had only called male escorts over to drink and chat together?

The night had been genuinely fun.

It completely erased the frustration Song Jingyao had accumulated from working all day.

As he drove home while humming to himself, he decided he was finally going to check out the BL adult comic he had confiscated from Su Ran.
