Mo Qiu, Mo Qiu, what have you been up to?
In a room with all the windows and doors tightly shut, the girl hugged her knees, rolling on the bed like a little hedgehog.
You knew full well that asking your parents for living expenses was a difficult task. After covering the necessary costs, the remaining money should be set aside as strategic funds. If Bai Chen had personally said he wanted this set of novels, it would be one thing, but in reality, you’re just wasting money.
Mo Qiu lay on the bed, starting to think about the root of all this. Whose fault was it—hers, Bai Chen’s… or that girl who interrupted? No, it’s all the fault of this novel!
The girl sat up abruptly, staring at the bed surface. That eye-catching shade of pink was the color only a Pandora’s box would have!
Yes, it’s all the novel’s fault, and the author’s too. What kind of person writes a novel just because they’re bored, with awful writing and a cliché plot… yet it’s still so captivating.
The plot is full of boring parts that waste your time, but there are also some truly brilliant scenes. Like… like what?
Mo Qiu instinctively leaned over to grab the book, flipping through it for a while before suddenly waking up and closing it again. Don’t waste any more time; just get rid of the book and return the set you bought online.
Mo Qiu immediately went into action, crawling to the computer where her vacant eyes stared at the e-commerce page. The ‘Return’ option was bright red and eye-catching. As she moved the mouse pointer over it, she noticed her fingers trembling. It felt like pressing it wasn’t just returning a product, but ending an innocent life.
What am I hesitating for? As a swindler, she had seen countless people lose their lives in front of her. After witnessing such scenes so many times, she wouldn’t even blink.
Mo Qiu exhaled and clicked the button.
Lying back on the bed, she touched her face—it was burning, and her fingers were still trembling. How could she hesitate over something like this? She must not let it happen again.
She had already returned the book, so there was no need to think about it anymore. Her goal was to conquer Bai Chen, so she shouldn’t let such trivial matters distract her. Instead of wasting time on novels, she should focus on the important things, like researching a few more tactics. Maybe then her stagnant plans would make some progress.
Mo Qiu tried to reassure herself until her gaze fell back on the novel. That pink cover lay on the bed, looking particularly forlorn.
‘Come to think of it, I still don’t know what happens next in the story.’
Just a little curiosity, she thought, as she picked up her phone and started searching. The girl lay on the bed, turning page after page, engrossed in the novel.
Only when her phone was about to run out of battery and her arm and eyes ached did Mo Qiu snap back to reality. It was already past ten at night.
She had only intended to read a little, but somehow, a few hours had passed. Setting down her phone, the girl let out a sigh.
Before she could scold herself, a peculiar idea popped into her head. ‘Could I use the plot from the book on Bai Chen?’
It was like discovering a monumental secret. Mo Qiu sat up, stroking her chin as she pondered the possibility. The book’s setting was quite similar to her own. In the story, the demonic female lead disguises herself as human and dates the unwitting male lead. The male lead is deeply infatuated with the human disguise of the female lead but is also locked in a never-ending battle with her true form.
The author packed the story with coincidences to create misunderstandings and hilarious mishaps between the male and female leads. Now that she thought about it, her situation with Bai Chen was quite similar.
Could it work?
Mo Qiu stroked the novel’s cover, lost in deep thought. Since her current progress was difficult, she might as well try it. If it succeeded, it would be a win. The male lead in the book was a sunny and cheerful guy, much like Bai Chen, who was still a virgin.
Determined, Mo Qiu tucked the novel away, planning to take a shower and then outline a detailed plan. But as her gaze swept over the computer, her footsteps hesitated.
After a moment’s hesitation, Mo Qiu reopened the e-commerce page and placed another order. ‘It’s going to take three days to deliver—that’s too slow.’
That night, Mo Qiu stayed up until midnight, and the next morning, she got up before dawn, rushing out the door before the sun had fully risen. Although she had never been to Bai Chen’s house, her recent investigations had given her a rough idea of its location.
Of course, it was still too early to climb into his bedroom. Mo Qiu intended to ambush Bai Chen on his way to school. She found a perfect corner to hide, checking her appearance as she waited for Bai Chen.
There was a scene in the book that left a deep impression on her: the male and female leads, both rushing to class, collided at a corner, and the female lead ended up sitting on the male lead. Even more absurdly, the sandwich the female lead was eating fell onto the male lead’s clothes, forcing her to help him clean it before getting up.
When Mo Qiu read it, she couldn’t help but feel her scalp tingle. Such a thing would only happen in a dream, unless it was deliberately arranged. Yet, there was no denying that it would make anyone’s heart race, especially a virgin like Bai Chen. He must have fantasized about bumping into a beautiful girl at a corner.
She had all the props ready: a sandwich slathered with jam and a wet wipe. After waiting for a while, she finally saw the figure she had been hoping for. It was indeed Bai Chen, yawning as he slowly made his way over. He seemed still half-asleep and didn’t notice the girl who had quickly pulled her head back.
He was almost here!
Mo Qiu backed away, her toes tapping the ground as she crouched, ready to sprint. As Bai Chen appeared at the corner, she dashed forward, her ears filled with the sound of the wind. Everything around her seemed to blur and fall behind as she ran.
Bai Chen was looking the other way, and when he heard the hurried footsteps behind him, his guard instantly went up.
Ambush?!
Just as Mo Qiu threw open her arms, her ample breasts about to collide with him, Bai Chen grabbed her by the wrists, using a perfectly executed move to throw her to the ground.
Huh?
Mo Qiu was still in a daze as her vision began to spin. She hadn’t expected anyone to be waiting for her here. Bai Chen, who hadn’t worn his black gloves, had been prepared for a fight. But upon seeing the person on the ground, he froze in shock.
‘Mo Qiu?!’
Bai Chen confirmed it several times—it was definitely her. No one else could have that deadpan expression.
The girl lay on the ground in disarray, her legs spread, and her skirt riding up to reveal the tops of her thighs. From this angle, her white panties were clearly visible.
It hurts.
Mo Qiu’s lifeless eyes stared at the sky. Her hair was a mess, and her clothes were dirty. Bai Chen had been quite rough with her, and she felt like she might dislocate.
Bai Chen quickly helped her up and retrieved her bag. ‘Are you okay? Did you get hurt anywhere?’
Her whole body ached, but Mo Qiu shook her head. ‘I just wanted to take a walk.’ ‘But you were running so fast…’ ‘I was in a hurry to get to school.’ ‘Is that so?’ Bai Chen was still a bit confused, but he believed her. As he glanced over her disheveled appearance, he realized he had hurt her, and inwardly cursed himself for being so rough.
Completely unaware of Bai Chen’s self-reproach, Mo Qiu was searching for the sandwich she had lost. She patted herself down and discovered a wet, sticky spot on her backside. Ah, it must have been the sandwich.
She had crushed it under her butt when she fell, and now it lay in a miserable state. Another failure.
Bai Chen apologized repeatedly on the way, even offering to help clean her dirty skirt. But Mo Qiu didn’t say a word the whole time. She must be angry, Bai Chen thought, shrugging his shoulders as if he had lost his soul.
Mo Qiu didn’t notice he had fallen behind, still lost in thought. How could she have failed? According to her plan, she should have been the one wiping off Bai Chen’s clothes, not the other way around. Was it a problem with her execution that caused such a huge deviation from her expectations?
Even a small failure couldn’t defeat her. Was it impossible to do it at school? No way, ‘The Demon Girl Loves Me’ is also a school romance novel, and many of its scenes take place in a school setting.
‘Students, please open your textbooks to page 47. Today, we will cover the most important concepts. I’ve highlighted the key points for you, so memorize them and be prepared for a pop quiz tomorrow.’
As the history teacher spoke passionately at the podium, Mo Qiu occasionally stole glances at Bai Chen. In the novel, the female lead would do the same, not only to attract the male lead’s attention but also to exchange glances with him. Nothing was more romantic than communicating through eye contact.
Despite hating her own deadpan expression, Mo Qiu believed her piercing gaze would make Bai Chen blush and his heart race. Look at me, why won’t you look at me?
Bai Chen sat unusually straight in class, like a first-grader. Whether he was paying attention or not, he seemed not to notice Mo Qiu’s gaze. When he looked back, it was only a quick glance over her face, with no lingering.
This guy, is he blind?
After half a morning of classes, Mo Qiu’s eyes were dry, but she still hadn’t made eye contact with him. Finally, she gave up. It was only when she started rubbing her eyes that Bai Chen glanced over, letting out a sigh of relief. Is she still angry with me?
From the first class, Bai Chen had felt someone staring at him with a murderous gaze. He never expected it to be Mo Qiu. It made sense; after all, he had hurt her. Thinking about it, he realized that she too could have feelings. How do you console a girl? I don’t know.
For now, it’s best not to provoke her.
