“Once, the Star Continent was nothing but chaos.
The chief god, Kaos, awakened from that chaos.
When he opened his eyes, the world gained light.
When he opened his mouth, the world gained air.
When he waved his arms and legs, the land came into being.”
“He stood upon the ground, and when he looked up, the sky appeared.
Finding the world too monotonous, he created the first beings.
These beings possessed powerful divine strength and helped the chief god create all things in the world.
They were the earliest gods.”
“With the opening of the chief god’s eyes, the heavens brightened.
With their closing, darkness fell.
The chief god felt something should replace himself, and thus the sun and moon were born.”
“As the sun and moon revolved, the gods at first lived in harmony.
But gradually conflicts arose.
Their faith in Kaos began to swell and waver.
Amid their struggles, mountains and lands shattered, and the stench of death filled the world.
Kaos sighed and destroyed all the gods.”
Knock knock knock—knock knock knock—
“Kaos was merciful.
Thus he created humankind, and also recreated the beings once made by the gods, though he did not grant them such great divine power.”
“These beings once again fell into conflict.
Kaos lamented and chose the Martin family, the most devout believers in him.
He bestowed upon them Radiance, making them his representatives in the world, to punish those ignorant and brutal beings.”
“All popes through the ages, the rulers of the Holy City of Kubabile, have borne the surname Martin.
Their bloodline carries the bestowed Radiance, and they possess the First Holy Relics: the Radiant Scepter and the Crown of Radiance.”
Knock knock knock—knock knock knock—
“Many years later, the slumbering Kaos awakened and discovered that the Star Continent had given rise to many races he had not created.
They were greedy and cruel, slaughtering his believers.”
“Kaos waved his hand, and the alien races were annihilated.
With a casual touch of his finger upon a sword, a shield, and a flower, he created three more Holy Relics of the Church, representing Punishment, Protection, and Glory.”
“The Holy Relics possess sentience and choose pure-hearted, devout maidens to grant power to.
Thus were born the Saintesses, the Church’s representatives and guardians.”
Knock knock knock—knock knock knock—
Who is it!!!!
So annoying, knocking nonstop!!!
As the relentless knocking continued, Yiluo—who was lying on the carpet engrossed in The History of the Holy Church—was finally pushed past her limit.
With a rua, she sprang up from the floor, stomped to the door, and flung it open with a bang, anger written all over her face.
“Who is it!
If no one answers, just assume nobody’s home and leave!”
Yiluo, who was frantically cramming knowledge about the continent, was in a terrible mood right now, her expression fierce yet oddly cute.
“Ah, I’m really sorry… I was afraid no one would hear me…”
Bang—!
After opening the door, Yiluo saw a girl in a school uniform, looking apologetic, with watery, sparkling eyes—an extremely pretty Alexia.
She immediately slammed the door shut again.
It’s that green-tea b*tch!
What is she knocking on my door for at noon?!
Knock knock knock—knock knock knock—
Knock knock knock—knock knock knock—
“Hey, hey!
Um, classmate Yiluo!
I live next door.
This morning I saw your maid go to class, so I thought you might not have lunch at noon.
I specially went to buy some blood pastries you like and brought them back for you.”
Behind the door, the moment Yiluo heard the words “blood pastries,” her ears perked up instantly.
Excitement was impossible to hide, though she frowned suspiciously and shouted outside, “The room next door was empty yesterday!”
“Heehee, actually, yesterday I heard there was a very beautiful junior carrying a huge golden sword, knocking students out on sight.
So I thought it might be Miss Yiluo, and I moved over overnight especially for that.”
Alexia said this completely matter-of-factly, without the slightest embarrassment.
“And I originally lived in Whisper Dorm 303.
I just switched to 309~”
“Open the door.
You haven’t eaten yet, right?
I’ll leave after delivering the blood pastries!”
After hearing Alexia’s words, Yiluo’s heart started pounding as she hesitated about whether to open the door.
This woman—judging purely by looks—was even prettier than herself and Coco.
Why was she paying so much attention to her?
What was she plotting?!
No kindness without a reason—if it’s not lust, it’s theft!
“You… what are you planning!”
“Don’t lie to me.
I won’t be fooled!”
Yiluo stayed extremely alert.
She even sniffed through the door.
It really was the smell of blood pastries.
Her hand gripping the doorknob wavered.
“I just really liked you the moment I saw you.
I admire you so much and want to become Miss Yiluo’s best friend.”
Click—
Yiluo opened the door a crack.
Her sly little eyes peeked out as she looked at Alexia outside, who had a full-on simp expression.
“Where are the blood pastries.”
When Alexia saw the door open, happiness bloomed across her face.
She held out a big bag of blood pastries with both hands in front of Yiluo, smiling innocently.
“Here, here!”
Yiluo’s eyes rolled.
She suddenly flung the door open, snatched the big bag of blood pastries, and before Alexia could react, slammed the door shut again with a bang.
“Huh huh huh huh?!!”
“Miss Yiluo, let me come in and sit for a bit.
Let me keep you company while you eat—just watching you eat is fine!”
Yiluo opened the paper wrapping of the blood pastries and checked that there was nothing wrong.
She immediately took one and bit into it.
While chewing, she spoke indistinctly toward the door, “Didn’t you say… mmph… you’d leave after delivering them!”
“Miss Yiluo, just let me stay for a bit.
Let’s build some rapport.
Maybe you’ll make me your friend.
I’m actually quite strange too—very suitable to be Miss Yiluo’s friend!”
“And I’m hungry as well.
Let me eat some blood pastries together with you.”
Knock knock knock—knock knock knock—
“No rapport needed—”
You’re the strange one!
Your whole family is strange!
Hmph!
Knock knock knock—knock knock knock—
“Please—!”
Driven crazy by Alexia’s pestering, Yiluo finally opened the door.
After hesitating for a long while, she placed the blood pastry she had already bitten into Alexia’s hand, then slammed the door shut again.
“Go back and eat it.
Bye-bye!”
After Yiluo closed the door this time, there was suddenly no movement outside, which made her feel uneasy.
She was clearly still outside earlier.
Why did it suddenly go quiet?
Just then, a flash of inspiration struck Yiluo.
She opened the door again and happened to see Alexia reverently holding up the dark-red blood pastry Yiluo had bitten into, her eyes glittering with excitement.
Ugh—so disgusting—
“Hey, hey, hey!
Miss Yiluo!”
“You finally decided to let me in!”
Alexia noticed Yiluo opening the door and shifted her shining, pastry-focused gaze onto Yiluo’s face, edging closer to the doorway.
She was stopped only because Yiluo pressed an oily little finger against her forehead, preventing her from squeezing in.
“Alexia, what do you think of Kaos?”
Yiluo stared straight into her eyes, trying to find something there.
Alexia froze when she heard the sudden question.
She blinked, tilted her head, and thought seriously for a moment before answering, “I failed the Holy Church class.”
“As for Kaos…
He feels kind of hypocritical and annoying, I guess?”
Looking at Alexia before her, Yiluo could tell that this evaluation of Kaos was sincere.
A hint of amusement appeared in her eyes.
“So that’s why you can’t pass the Holy Church class, right?”
“Heehee…”
Alexia smiled awkwardly, trying to muddle through.
Taking advantage of this moment, Yiluo swiftly snatched back the blood pastry she had bitten from Alexia’s hand and slammed the door shut once more.
Knock knock knock—knock knock knock—
“Huh???”
“Miss Yiluo… my pastry!”
Yiluo was very satisfied with the panicked expression Alexia showed when the blood pastry was taken away.
She hugged the bag of pastries, took another bite from the half-eaten one in her hand, and ignored Alexia outside as she went back into her room.
Alexia’s expression was just too strange.
It was simply like…
The ultimate simp…
No way.
Yiluo was honestly afraid Alexia might do something weird to the blood pastry she had bitten.
After returning to her bedroom and closing the door, Yiluo happily resumed reading her book, thoroughly enjoying the blood pastries.
.
Originally, Yiluo had planned to go out and buy some groceries to cook for Coco after her long day at school.
But she got so absorbed in reading that she only realized it was too late once Coco returned.
“Master, something terrible happened!”
Seeing Coco come back looking utterly flustered, Yiluo’s heart tightened.
She thought Coco had been bullied at school, rushed to her side, carefully checked her over, and said angrily, “Who bullied Coco?
I’ll wipe them out!”
