Chapter 53: The Pink-Haired Loli

It had been over twenty days since Iro enrolled in Chaldea Academy.

Inside her room, all 67 majors’ textbooks—whether useful or not—had been completely studied by her.

She had gone through them all.

She truly deserved the title of a “study monster.”

Her first-place result from the special agent training camp back then was definitely not for nothing.

With no books left to read, she would occasionally wander around the campus, enjoying a kind of student life she had never experienced before.

She had attended a few classes, but found them too shallow.

There wasn’t much practical content, and most of it she already knew.

So she gradually stopped going.

As for combat classes…

Well, she could probably take on an entire class of instructors by herself.

As for the Holy Church, Iro was actually less worried now.

Not only had her appearance changed greatly and no longer matched the wanted posters, but simply being recognized by Chaldea Academy already gave her some peace of mind.

Today, Iro happily headed to the library to “borrow” books.

Although a small incident along the way had worsened her mood, by the time she reached the library entrance, she felt better again.

Wearing a white sleeveless dress, she leaned slightly forward with one hand behind her back and the other near her lips.

Looking at the notices posted on a pillar, her eyes sparkled as she revealed a sweet smile.

“Wow, whose adorable child is this?”

“Mmm… it’d be so nice to have a daughter this cute!”

Well… the picture on the notice was none other than Miss Iro herself.

Because of her chaotic behavior at school, the original notice that should have been removed after fifteen days had not only remained—but three more had been added on top of it.

Chaldea Academy had the largest library on the entire Star Continent.

Its area was even larger than the sports field, spanning twelve full floors.

The collection was incredibly comprehensive.

Scrolls from demon races, paper books from demi-humans, and secret texts from both Eastern and Western continents were all included.

Not to mention rare comics over a hundred years old—even certain “adult” books existed.

Of course, those had strict borrowing age requirements and high prices, but they remained extremely popular among senior students and were always in high demand.

“Hi, librarian sis, any new books lately?”

The drowsy librarian looked at the blinking, seemingly innocent girl in front of her and couldn’t help but smile bitterly.

Who in the academy didn’t know Iro’s name and face?

She was currently the number one troublemaker in Chaldea Academy.

In less than ten days, she had already borrowed over thirty books from the library—and hadn’t returned a single one.

Even though they were overdue, no one dared to ask her for them back.

“Junior Iro, I’m really sorry. There aren’t any new books recently, only the older ones.”

The librarian thought to herself that new books would only arrive tomorrow.

Looks like she narrowly avoided disaster today.

But unexpectedly, instead of being disappointed, Iro became even happier.

“Hehe, old books are exactly what I want. Great! Bye-bye~”

……

The librarian was left speechless, her emotions a complete mess.

On her very first visit, Iro had already memorized the layout of the entire library.

Without wasting any time, she skipped straight toward the twelfth floor.

The library wasn’t entirely open.

Different floors required different permissions.

Floors above the ninth were only accessible to certain teachers.

Students needed special approval from the academy to enter.

Others would either swipe their student badges or present official documents.

But Miss Iro was different—on a much higher level.

She simply used her face and walked through unimpeded.

The twelfth floor was noticeably smaller than the lower ones.

The wooden interior carried a faint scent of age.

Its quiet layout and clean environment made it perfect for reading.

The moment Iro arrived, her pupils slightly shrank.

In a corner of the reading area sat a little girl flipping through a comic book.

Her legs swung lightly as she read, occasionally grabbing snacks from beside her, looking extremely content.

Her pink hair was tied into a high side ponytail with green, blue, and red bands, swaying gently as she moved.

A small red ribbon bow adorned the side of her hair.

Her skin was soft and delicate, with a slight baby fat on her cheeks.

Her eyes were large, her eyelashes long, and a complex mark on her forehead added a mysterious charm to her cuteness.

She wore a light blue short-sleeved top paired with a layered pink skirt.

The kind of appearance that could instantly defeat both lolicon fans and doting-parent types alike.

This girl…

Was the pink-haired loli from Iro’s dreams.

Alice’s master.

Iro recognized her instantly.

The brief change in her expression quickly returned to normal.

She chose not to pay attention to the girl.

Through her perception, she couldn’t detect even the slightest trace of energy from the girl.

She seemed like nothing more than an ordinary child.

But Iro didn’t believe that Alice’s master could truly be just a little girl.

A girl who hadn’t changed at all in thirty years.

Her strength was likely far beyond Iro’s own.

For someone like that, Iro had no intention of provoking her.

She walked into the magical beast section of the library.

Familiar with the layout, she quickly picked out four books:

“Encyclopedia of Rare Magical Beasts,”

“Detailed Classification of Low-Level Magical Beasts,”

“Magical Beasts of the Sealed Demon Mountain Range,”

and “Illustrated Guide to Demon King–Rank Magical Beasts.”

Carrying the thick books that nearly covered her entire body, she sat diagonally across from the pink-haired girl and began reading seriously.

This was already her third time searching for books related to magical beasts.

There was something bothering her deeply.

The small fluffy bracelet on her wrist.

Back in Green City, she had clearly felt it being completely purified by the holy energy gathered around her.

It should have vanished entirely.

Yet the very next day, before she had even left the Sealed Demon Mountain Range, she woke up to find the fluffy creature lying beside her, sleeping soundly as if it were alive.

After hesitating for a long time, she still decided to keep it with her.

Though it looked harmless, it had survived even immortal-level energy.

She needed to uncover its true origin.

If it was beneficial, then fine.

But if it posed any danger, she had to eliminate the risk as soon as possible.

Flipping through the books, she read about all kinds of powerful magical beasts.

Not all Demon King–rank beasts looked ferocious.

Some had extremely strange forms.

For example, one entry described nothing but a mass of pale purple mist.

Even its name was censored with symbols.

It was labeled as above Demon King rank.

It had once destroyed two empires on the Eastern Continent and wiped out three demon races.

Iro read from the weakest beasts to the strongest.

Then from the strongest to the rarest.

Gradually, the sky darkened.

Yet she still found no record of the fluffy creature.

A few similar ones were quickly ruled out after reading their descriptions.

Frowning slightly, she played with her silver hair, curiosity growing stronger in her heart.

She murmured softly,

“Could it be… some undiscovered magical beast?”

Just as she was at a loss, a small head suddenly leaned in from beside her.

A childish, soft voice spoke gently.

“What are you looking for? You can ask me, you know.”

“I’ve seen a lot of magical beasts!”
