As Bai Mengze’s cheeks flushed a deeper crimson, Ji Wenyan’s hands finally stilled.
Her beauty attribute now stood at 92.
Only eight points shy of his goal, Ji Wenyan couldn’t help but feel utterly dejected.
Still, it wasn’t a significant gap. A quick touch-up this afternoon would suffice to elevate her beauty attribute to the beginner level.
“Finished,” Ji Wenyan declared.
He gazed at Bai Mengze before him, then, with immense satisfaction, set down the lip brush he held.
Her brows were like distant mist, her eyes resembled autumn waters reflecting light.
Her skin was snow-white, her lips a vibrant cinnabar.
It was a beauty that could make fish sink and geese fall, a charm that would eclipse the moon and shame the flowers.
As he beheld the masterpiece he had personally crafted, Ji Wenyan found himself indulging in a moment of artistic appreciation.
He couldn’t help but marvel at the sheer power of his master-level makeup skills.
Bai Mengze had already been stunning, but now, with this meticulous transformation, she looked like a celestial fairy descended to the mortal realm.
Simply magnificent!
He vowed that if Bai Mengze didn’t secure first place in this campus beauty pageant, he would stream himself eating… well, he’d eat something unspeakable.
“Do you have a mirror?”
While Ji Wenyan was still admiring his handiwork, Bai Mengze finally spoke to him, the flush on her cheeks having somewhat subsided.
She was rather curious about her current appearance.
Bai Mengze had previously attempted makeup at home.
However, the results had been far from satisfactory.
Given this was Ji Wenyan’s first time applying makeup, she couldn’t help but wonder what the outcome would be.
“No mirror here,” Ji Wenyan replied, a smile playing on his lips. “But don’t worry, my makeup skills are exceptional! First place in this competition is unequivocally yours.”
Yet, Ji Wenyan had no intention of letting Bai Mengze see herself so soon.
Maintaining the suspense would be far more entertaining.
“Alright then, let’s head down for lunch. We’ll have to eat in the cafeteria today—”
“No need,” Ji Wenyan interrupted. “I’ve arranged for lunch to be delivered to the rooftop.”
“You’re having someone buy food and bring it up? That seems like too much trouble, why don’t we just—”
Bai Mengze, whose primary curiosity revolved around Ji Wenyan’s makeup skills, wasn’t disappointed by the lack of a mirror.
She figured she would see herself once they went downstairs anyway.
However, Ji Wenyan merely shook his head at her with a smile.
Before Bai Mengze could even finish her sentence, the distinct whirring of helicopter blades became audible, growing louder as it approached from a distance.
Bai Mengze’s expression froze in astonishment.
She then looked up in disbelief, only to see a small private aircraft hovering directly above them.

Just as the students in the classroom were beginning to calm down from their excitement, the classroom door suddenly burst open from the outside.
The newcomer immediately called out Bai Mengze’s full name, causing the entire class to fall silent for several seconds.
All eyes then turned in unison towards the intruder.
Standing there was a man dressed in flamboyant attire, sunglasses perched on his head.
He was even wearing makeup, which made him appear ambiguously gendered, almost like a pervert.
Had Ji Wenyan and Bai Mengze been present, they would have undoubtedly recognized him as one of the makeup artists hired at the mall yesterday.
“I am Teacher Tony,” the man announced. “I’m the makeup artist your school hired to do the students’ makeup. There’s a girl named Bai Mengze in your class who still hasn’t shown up, so I had no choice but to come personally to fetch her.”
As Tony spoke, his mood was exceedingly glum.
Yesterday, upon receiving Young Master Ji’s commission, he had thought he’d caught a plump sheep.
Instead, his efforts had been utterly in vain, like drawing water with a bamboo basket.
No, that wasn’t quite right!
It was more akin to a leaky roof encountering a night of continuous rain.
Not only were the high-priced cosmetics he’d sold returned by Ji Wenyan, still in their unopened packaging, but Director Gong’s side had also issued a statement.
The statement declared their agreement to employ them for the film crew’s makeup services was terminated with immediate effect.
Furthermore, Director Gong had provided a list detailing all the exorbitantly priced cosmetics they had added to the crew’s budget, pocketing kickbacks in the process.
Every item had now been exposed.
Should they refuse to terminate the contract, they would face legal action.
Faced with this, they could only concede defeat.
Now, they had lost even their stable source of income.
This was why he was now grudgingly deigning to come to City No. 1 High School to apply makeup for the campus beauty pageant contestants.
He hoped that by showcasing his superb skills during the competition, he could secure a few more wealthy patrons to employ them.
The thought of it infuriated Tony to no end.
He immediately vented his frustration on this student named Bai Mengze.
They had condescended to come to the school to do makeup, yet someone still dared to be uncooperative.
It was truly a case of a tiger fallen to the plains, bullied by dogs.
After all, they usually styled top-tier female celebrities!
“Teacher Tony, Bai Mengze and Ji Wenyan went out,” a student interjected. “They haven’t returned yet!”
“Ji Wenyan…”
To Tony’s utter astonishment, he heard that familiar name once again.
‘Young Master Ji, attending school here?’ he thought, a new realization dawning on him.
