Li Zerui froze on the spot, utterly drenched by the sudden splash.

An expression of disbelief contorted his face, and his body trembled as he stared at the culprit.

“Oh, my apologies, my apologies! I didn’t even see you there. I honestly thought it was some giant fly. Who knew it was a person? My eyesight must be failing me; ah, I really need to get my eyes checked!”

Ji Wenyan, however, showed no panic. He merely let out a theatrical ‘Oh dear,’ lightly tapped his own head, and feigned an embarrassed look, though the schadenfreude dancing in his eyes was unmistakably clear.

Li Zerui was so enraged he couldn’t utter a word. He wondered who this suddenly appearing young man was.

Not only had he ruined his plans, but now he had also drenched him head to toe!

“Ji Wenyan, what exactly is going on here?”

“Nothing much, I just lost my grip and accidentally spilled the drink all over someone… Um, I’ll cover your dry cleaning fees. Please don’t be angry, okay?”

As Ji Wenyan spoke, his hands were not idle. He swiftly pulled several crisp red banknotes from his wallet and extended them to the girl who had just been shouting about her mango smoothie.

The girl, upon seeing the money Ji Wenyan offered, immediately transformed her previously furious expression into a bright smile. She snatched the cash, then quickly giggled and walked away with her companions.

“You’re Ji Wenyan? Fine, I don’t need your dry cleaning fees. Call your parents here! I can tell the difference between an accident and an intentional act, and you did that on purpose!”

“I’m merely drinking water.”

“Hmph, well, my smoothie was for drinking too! Though, seeing your cup full to the brim, I wonder if you weren’t perhaps planning to splash some innocent high school girl, just to get revenge for your daughter or something. That truly is… tsk tsk, despicable, shameless, and utterly incompetent!”

Ji Wenyan wore a half-smile, his small mouth opening wide to refute with every ounce of his ability.

Especially when he mentioned the water bottle in Li Zerui’s hand, he directly articulated Li Zerui’s exact intentions, laying them bare.

Li Zerui, not having anticipated that this high school student had already discerned his purpose, involuntarily widened his eyes. He wondered who this student named Ji Wenyan truly was.

How could he be so perceptive?
