Before she even reached her grandmother’s ward, a familiar voice called out to her from the corridor: “Hey, isn’t this—”
Fearing her identity might be exposed, she quickly turned towards the sound. Upon seeing that it was Jiang Yi who had spoken, Lin Ziyao immediately made a shushing gesture, signaling for her not to blurt it out.

“Dr. Jiang was nearly scared to death by you.”

Jiang Yi, clad in a white coat, stood with her hands in her pockets and asked, “Are you here to see your grandmother?”
“Yes, the show’s filming has wrapped up, so I came to see Grandma first and also to pay the full surgical fees,” Lin Ziyao replied with a nod.
Earlier in the car, Qin Yu had transferred a sum of money to her account as an advance on her salary, enabling her to cover the surgical costs now.

“This song is really beautiful.” After saying this, her grandmother softly hummed along from her bed.
“Grandma, let me teach you how to sing it.” Lin Ziyao sat by the bed, patiently teaching her grandmother the song, note by note.
In her grandmother’s presence, she seemed to transform back into the girl she once was, completely unchanged.
“So there’s so much to pay attention to even in just singing. I never realized how amazing Yaoyao’s singing was before.” After a while, her grandmother, tired, leaned back on the bed and sighed with emotion.
She helped her grandmother lie down, then went to the foot of the bed to lower the raised headrest, ensuring her grandmother could rest comfortably.

“Then I also need to live long enough to see Yaoyao get married.”
Her grandmother lay staring at the ceiling, as if picturing Lin Ziyao in a wedding dress.
“Mm.” Lin Ziyao returned to the bedside and softly acknowledged her grandmother.
“Then let Grandma sleep for a bit. I’m a little tired from talking so much today, seeing you, Yaoyao.” Her grandmother turned, looked at Lin Ziyao, and instructed, “Yaoyao, if you have something to do, go attend to it.”
“First, wait for Grandma to fall asleep.” Reassured by her reply, her grandmother slowly and peacefully closed her eyes.
As her grandmother’s breathing gradually steadied, Lin Ziyao carefully tucked the blankets around her and whispered, “Grandma, I’m leaving now.”
Exiting her grandmother’s ward, she made her way to Jiang Yi’s office, where she saw a gathering of doctors and nurses, but no Jiang Yi.
So she inquired, “Excuse me, is Dr. Jiang in?”
Her voice immediately drew the attention of everyone in the previously bustling office.
The once somewhat noisy office fell silent instantly, all eyes fixed on Lin Ziyao at the doorway.
She touched her brow, realizing she hadn’t put her sunglasses back on after removing them.
‘Damn, I was careless!’
“Alright, alright.”
Perhaps sensing the commotion in the office, Jiang Yi emerged from an inner room, clapping her hands to bring them back to their senses.
“Now you know why I asked you all to come back, don’t you?” Everyone looked at Lin Ziyao by the door and nodded.
Jiang Yi stepped forward, taking Lin Ziyao’s hand. “Ziyao and I still have things to discuss. We can chat with you all later. Remember to keep this a secret from those who didn’t come back.”
“Dr. Jiang, what is going on?” Lin Ziyao asked, somewhat confused by the scene.
“It’s just that I noticed many young women in the department were discussing you, Ziyao, so I seized the opportunity to gather them to meet you in person,” Jiang Yi further explained. “At the time, I asked them not to leak any news, so I thought I’d find a chance for you to meet them.”
Upon hearing Jiang Yi’s explanation, Lin Ziyao could only sigh, rubbing her brow as she conceded, “Alright, fine!”
After discussing her grandmother’s treatment plan, Lin Ziyao took photos and signed autographs with almost every doctor and nurse in the office, rarely refusing anyone.
Soon, she collapsed, exhausted, back in Jiang Yi’s office.
“No more. No more photos or autographs, ever again.”
