Join the ServerThe air in Cold Moon Cave was thick with an ancient, unyielding chill, mingled with various strange medicinal scents. In the deepest corner, a living “discard” lay.
Her name was Xuan Yue. Even she had almost forgotten it.
How long had she been imprisoned here? Fifty years? Eighty? Or a full century?
Time had lost all meaning here, replaced only by endless darkness and a cold that seeped into her very bones.
She had once been a “Solar Spirit Body,” the initial ‘medicine guide’ prepared by Penglai Immortal Palace for refining the Nine Revolutions Soul-Returning Pill. Unfortunately, her physique had proven somewhat incompatible with the Longevity Cauldron.
Thus, she had been cast away into this place.
Her life force was drained day after day, used to nourish the restraints that guarded her. Her Divine Soul was sealed by layers of restrictions, making even a complete dream an unattainable luxury.
She was like a forgotten botanical specimen, thoroughly dried out in a basement. All that remained was a blurred outline, covered in dust.
‘Living?’
Xuan Yue’s perpetually vacant, moon-white eyes, unchanged for millennia, suddenly trembled. A riverbed, parched for nearly a century, unexpectedly received a single drop of sweet dew.
“Ah…”
It wasn’t enough!
It wasn’t enough!
She needed more!
The warm sensation continued to flow in, an endless stream. Each wisp repaired her fracturing Divine Soul, awakening the vitality that had slumbered for a century.
Her silver hair, which had ceased to grow, now miraculously showed a faint, almost imperceptible sheen at its roots.
Gradually, a glimmer of light rekindled within her moon-white eyes. She could ‘see’ the source of that sensation, not far away.
‘If only I could get out… if only I could get a little closer… I could live!’
The thought of “living” was like a seed buried in frozen earth for a hundred years, now utterly spurred to life by this sudden breath of spring.
It frantically rooted and sprouted, breaking through the soil, growing into an towering desire.
Xuan Yue’s body moved. Her limbs, stiff as a puppet’s from prolonged inactivity, erupted with a strength she herself had never anticipated.
She struggled, crawling down from the cold stone bed.
The cold iron chains on her ankles rattled with her movements, a harsh, clanging sound that echoed jarringly in the silent cell.
She stumbled, lurching forward, and collapsed against the cold stone door.
Thud!
She used every ounce of her strength, slamming her frail body against the stone door. Her shoulder blades collided with the hard stone, a sensation of bones threatening to shatter.
Yet, she felt nothing. All her senses were consumed by the overwhelming desire for that sensation.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Again and again.

“What was that sound?”
At the entrance to Cold Moon Cave, Ming Lan and Ruo Xue were startled by the sudden, massive thud.
“It sounds like… it’s coming from the very bottom layer?” Ruo Xue said, a hint of fear in her voice, her tone uncertain.
The deepest layer of Cold Moon Cave was a forbidden zone within a forbidden zone. Legend had it that a monster was imprisoned there—a failed experiment personally created by the Holy Master.
“No matter what it is, our only duty is to guard the entrance,” Ming Lan replied, calmer than her companion. Still, her grip on her sword hilt tightened involuntarily. “Anyone daring to cause trouble here will find that Senior Sister Han Shuang of the Enforcement Hall is not to be trifled with.”
No sooner had her words fallen than a cold voice resounded from behind them.
“What happened?”
The two startled, whipping their heads around. A tall, upright figure, clad in silver-white active wear, had silently appeared behind them.
It was Han Shuang, the commander of Penglai’s Medicine Guard.
Her perpetually icy face, usually unreadable, was now veiled in a frosty aura. Her gaze was sharp as a blade, as if capable of freezing a person’s very soul.
“Senior Sister Han.” Ming Lan and Ruo Xue quickly bowed, stammering as they explained the situation.
“The deepest layer?” Han Shuang’s brow furrowed, a flicker of undisguised disgust in her eyes. “That waste still has the energy to cause trouble?”
The ‘waste’ she referred to was, naturally, Xuan Yue.
As Holy Master Yaoguang’s most loyal supporter, Han Shuang harbored a visceral aversion to all “failures” and “traitors.”
In her view, Xuan Yue, an abandoned medicine guide who had squandered countless sectarian resources only to prove utterly useless, should have long ago been completely refined into dregs. There was no reason for her to cling to life here, wasting the spiritual energy of Cold Moon Cave.
“I’ll handle it.” Han Shuang spat out the four cold words. Her form blurred, transforming into a blue afterimage as she streaked towards the depths of Cold Moon Cave.
The ‘thudding’ against the door continued, as if tirelessly protesting something.
Han Shuang’s speed was extraordinary. In just a few breaths, she arrived before the cell on the lowest level.
Observing the slightly vibrating stone door, the disgust in her eyes intensified.
“So noisy,” she muttered. Raising her hand, she pointed her fingers like a sword. An extreme surge of icy spiritual energy instantly condensed at her fingertips.
“Profound Ice Thorn!”
Boom!
The spiritual energy transformed into a visible ice cone. Without the slightest hesitation, it pierced through the heavy stone door, slamming into the wall inside.
It directly penetrated the thick stone door, viciously impaling Xuan Yue, who was relentlessly pounding against it.
“Urghhh—!” A piercing scream of agony erupted from within the cell. The pounding ceased abruptly.
Han Shuang, her face impassive, formed a hand seal. The stone door slowly opened.
Xuan Yue was curled on the ground, convulsing. The ice cone was lodged in her dantian, continuously emitting an eerie chill that froze and shattered the last vestiges of vitality she had just managed to gather within her body.
“Hmph, an overconfident fool.” Han Shuang sneered, stepping inside. She looked down at Xuan Yue, who was writhing in pain on the ground, her gaze like one observing a lowly ant.
She lifted her foot and stomped on Xuan Yue’s wrist, grinding down with force.
Crack!
The crisp sound of bones fracturing echoed through the cell.
“If there’s a next time, it won’t be your hand that breaks. It’ll be your Divine Soul.”
After speaking, she layered several more restrictions onto Xuan Yue, ensuring that this ‘ant’ would not even have the strength to move a single finger for the next ten years.
Only after completing all of this did she feel a sense of peace. She then turned and departed. After all, in her eyes, this was merely an insignificant, routine act of “garbage disposal.”

Outside the Eye of Gui Xu in the East Sea.
This sea region consistently topped the cultivation world’s blacklisted travel destinations.
The sky was perpetually a leaden gray, churning with bizarre cloud vortices formed by temporal turbulence. The sea itself was not the usual blue, but an unfathomable, inky black. Within its depths, what surged were not waves, but countless remnant souls and resentments of mighty cultivators who had perished in ancient wars.
Yet, into this deathly sea, a place even the Grim Reaper found ominous, an ancient-looking spirit boat plunged forward without hesitation.
It was a “Wave-Breaking Skiff,” a product of the Qingyun Sect, quality assured.
However, the atmosphere on board was colder than the resentful soul storms raging outside.
Gu Chang’an, Ling Shuangjue, and Yuange.
The righteous leader, the Demonic Venerable, and the Demon Princess.
These individuals, who under normal circumstances would ignite a full-scale immortal-demonic war if seated at the same table, were now crammed together on this small Wave-Breaking Skiff like a three-headed, six-armed conjoined twin. They were unwillingly engaged in an extreme sport called “team cooperation.”
Yan Wusheng of the Heavenly Derivation Pavilion sat serenely at the bow, clutching her half of the Heavenly Mechanism Plate, as if she had come purely to fish.
“The rules are simple,” Yan Wusheng’s voice was cool and clear. “This skiff relies on Gu Chang’an’s vast sword qi as its foundation to resist the erosion of resentful souls. It needs Demonic Venerable Ling’s world-destroying demonic energy to cut through the temporal turbulence. And it requires Princess Yuange’s Golden Crow demonic power as its sail to gain propulsion in this windless sea.
“Should any one of the three fail, the skiff will be destroyed, and all aboard will perish. Esteemed ones, please begin.” Having said this, she truly closed her eyes to rest, leaving the entire mess to these three sworn enemies whose destinies clashed and elements opposed.
For a moment, the skiff fell into a deathly silence.
Three pairs of beautiful eyes fiercely clashed in the air, sparks flying.
“What? Scared?” Yuange was the first to break the silence. She loved seeing these two ‘old women’ frustrated, so she provoked, “Are you afraid your spiritual energy will be tainted, or perhaps that you’ll be outshone by this princess?”
Ling Shuangjue barely bothered to lift her eyelids. Her red lips parted, uttering two words: “Noisy.”
Gu Chang’an, however, completely ignored her. Her Frostbright Sword vibrated, and a boundless, irresistible sword qi instantly surged forth, transforming into a translucent azure light barrier that enveloped the entire Wave-Breaking Skiff.
Sizzle—
The resentful souls that had been howling madly around the skiff shrieked like snow encountering scorching sun, instantly dissipating into wisps of black smoke upon touching the light barrier.
Gu Chang’an let out a cold snort, then looked at the other two, her eyes clearly conveying: ‘I’ve started; do as you please.’
This immediately put pressure on Ling Shuangjue and Yuange.
Yuange pouted. Though her words were sharp, she dared not truly joke with her life. She took a deep breath, and demonic power surged around her. Behind her, a golden winged phantom, composed purely of flames, abruptly unfurled.
Whoosh—
The scorching Golden Crow demonic power transformed into a visible golden airflow, injecting itself into the array at the stern of the skiff.
The Wave-Breaking Skiff jolted violently, its speed suddenly accelerating, leaving a long golden wake on the inky black sea.
Now, only Ling Shuangjue remained.
All eyes were fixed on the white-robed Demonic Venerable.
Ling Shuangjue slowly opened her eyes, her blood-red pupils devoid of any ripples. She merely glanced indifferently at the leisurely Yan Wusheng at the bow, then swept her gaze over her two ‘rivals’ who had already ‘landed.’ A flicker of extreme impatience and irritation crossed her eyes.
‘For Zhaoqing…’
She silently recited the name in her heart, then raised her right hand. The infamous world-destroying demonic weapon, the Abyssal Slaughter Sword, remained sheathed. She simply rested her hand lightly on its hilt, and a pure, extreme intent of destruction surged from her body.
This demonic intent was the polar opposite of Gu Chang’an’s vast righteous qi. It was neither scorching hot nor freezing cold, but rather a void—an absolute “emptiness” capable of erasing all existence.
Buzz—
The demonic intent, like ink, flowed into the arrays on both sides of the skiff.
The next second, the temporal turbulence ahead of the Wave-Breaking Skiff, which had been dense as water weeds and constantly opening and closing, actually retreated, giving way and forcefully creating a safe passage!
It was done!
Three forces, utterly disparate in nature and even mutually restraining, had, under the strange array designed by Yan Wusheng, truly achieved a delicate balance.
