Join the ServerBut this time, the person rooming with him was not Xiao Tian, but Xie Wuyu.
Xiao Tian stayed in another children’s themed room, which was equipped with many toys and dog supplies. During the two months Pei Liu and Xie Wuyu stayed at home, she had been living here, so happy she was practically flying.
When Pei Liu returned, she ran over eagerly, instinctively wanting to throw herself at him like a little cannonball. But when she saw Xie Wuyu walking out from behind him, she froze instantly, her short legs trembling slightly, looking like a motionless doll.
Seeing Xiao Tian’s cowardly display, Pei Liu found it a bit amusing. At the same time, he remembered that when he first encountered Xie Wuyu, he had probably been just as cowardly.
He walked over and patted Xiao Tian’s head. Seizing the opportunity, Xiao Tian clung tightly to Pei Liu’s leg, stole a glance at Xie Wuyu, and then shrank behind Pei Liu to hide herself.
“Dad, you’re awesome!”
He’s not even afraid of such a terrifying, great ghost.
Pei Liu was helpless. He couldn’t exactly say that it was because he was already Xie Wuyu’s emergency rations, making him absolutely safe before being eaten, and he didn’t even have to worry about any other person or ghost harming him, which was why he was so calm and relaxed.
…cough cough.
Pei Liu tactfully cleared his throat to mask his embarrassment, using work to divert the child’s attention, coaxing her to go play.
Their production crew could be described as ill-fated, facing many obstacles. After experiencing such a major incident and pausing midway for two months, returning to continue wasn’t easy for the actors to find their characters’ feelings again.
On the first day, there were many NGs.
Director Chen had prepared himself mentally. He didn’t scold them, but explained the scenes very patiently. He knew it was difficult for this drama to be finished and broadcast, and some actors had left the crew due to scheduling conflicts, so he was very grateful to those who chose to stay.
The remaining plot involved the male lead closing in on the truth, suspecting Shen Wenrui, and secretly investigating him.
Meanwhile, Yu Chu, after witnessing a murder, being betrayed and abandoned, and nearly killed, had become completely dejected and listless, like a walking corpse without a soul.
Watching him like this, Shen Wenrui sneered, then dragged him out, stood behind him, and held his hand, forcing him to experience killing someone for the first first time.
Originally, Yu Chu’s eyes were dark, hollow, and out of focus. But when Shen Wenrui pressed against his back like an icy venomous snake, he suddenly realized his intention and struggled violently. Yet Shen Wenrui’s strength was immense, binding him like chains, and he ultimately couldn’t fight back, feeling warm fresh blood splattering onto his face.
Yu Chu’s eyes widened in disbelief.
He… had killed someone.
Shen Wenrui leaned close to his ear, his voice deep and seductive, smiling twistedly: “You enjoyed it, didn’t you?”
Yu Chu shuddered, violently threw off his hand, and ran outside like crazy.
On a pitch-black night, a light rain was falling, the moonlight reflecting off the uneven puddles on the ground, casting a chilly light.
Yu Chu stepped into a puddle, shattering the distorted reflection of the moon.
He ran very fast, the rain instantly drenching him. Soaked to the skin, the chill seeped into his bone marrow, making him shiver.
He kept running, his clothes growing heavier and heavier, almost crushing his entire being.
Unhurried footsteps followed closely behind him.
In the end, Yu Chu still left with Shen Wenrui.
He had killed someone and become an accomplice; there was no going back.
He had no place to return to either.

On camera.
Pei Liu and Shen Jin walked shoulder to shoulder in the rain, walking right up to everyone.
Up close, the view was even clearer.
Pei Liu’s clothes were soaked through, his frame slender. With blood splattered on his face, his complexion pale, his lips colorless, he looked frail yet gorgeous, carrying an indescribable sense of fragile beauty that was stunning, making hearts skip a beat.
Shen Jin, however, frowned. He grabbed the large bath towel from Pei Liu’s assistant’s hand and wrapped Pei Liu up tightly.
Only then did the others snap out of it. Ah, Pei Liu’s constitution was weak; they had to be careful he didn’t catch a cold.
But looking up again, they discovered Shen Jin had already led the person away.
Unbelievably fast.
It seemed Shen Jin and Pei Liu had a genuinely good relationship, completely different from in the drama. Sometimes Shen Jin acted too realistically, and they were terrified, unable to stop themselves from fearing the actor himself. But when Pei Liu was around, they didn’t have to worry because Shen Jin’s aura would visibly soften.
Not only during this rain scene, but a crucial scene later on was even more so.
Yu Chu accidentally ran into the police male lead, who happened to be investigating Shen Wenrui and asked him a few questions.
Yu Chu didn’t want him to come to harm, trying everything to drive him away and get him to stay out of the matter. But the male lead was righteous; how could he ignore suspicious clues?
Just then, Shen Wenrui arrived, his cold, dangerous gaze landing on the male lead, holding a sharp weapon in his hand hanging by his thigh.
Yu Chu suddenly lunged forward, pressing down on his hand and blocking the space between the two of them. The male lead happened to receive an emergency call and left in a rush, unaware that he had just skirted the gates of hell.
Afterward, Yu Chu had an outburst, engaging in a fierce argument with Shen Wenrui.
Shen Wenrui looked down at him from above, saying coldly: “Do you think you’ve really changed? Cowardly, foolish, useless—no wonder you were bullied. You truly deserved it.”
Vicious words continuously poured from his mouth like poisoned arrows, stabbing fiercely into Yu Chu’s body over and over, leaving him bloodied.
Finally, Yu Chu was driven to rage, his eyes bloodshot, filled with resentment and hatred. He smashed a vase on the table, then smashed several more, the pieces shattering all over the floor with loud crashes.
Shen Wenrui didn’t get angry; instead, he laughed—a twisted and delighted laugh that resonated.
“Yes, exactly, that’s the look. I knew it all along; you and I are of the same kind. Destruction, harm, slaughter, you enjoy all of it.”
Provoked, Yu Chu retorted fiercely, stepping barefoot over the shattered pieces on the floor and screaming at Shen Wenrui: “No! I am not! I am not!”
Yu Chu’s face was filled with pain and despair, his eyes bloodshot, tears flowing uncontrollably and sliding down silently, delivering a shocking impact.
Pei Liu’s emotional rendering was very powerful. The staff members on set watched, feeling a dull ache in their hearts.
But Director Chen was slightly dissatisfied, calling cut and telling Pei Liu: the character’s heart at this moment was oppressed and painful; although his emotions burst out, due to his personality, they still weren’t completely unleashed, so he could restrain them slightly. The tears shouldn’t actually flow out; having his eyes red and slightly moist would be perfect.
Thus, Pei Liu performed this scene six more times before finally satisfying Director Chen and clearing it.
While filming, the shattered glass on the floor was a prop and the edges weren’t very sharp, but after stepping on them continuously for so long, Pei Liu was inevitably cut.
Shen Jin caught the faint scent of blood and couldn’t help but frown.
Pei Liu had just sat down, completely off guard, when his ankle was suddenly grabbed and his foot was forced up, resting lightly on Shen Jin’s knee.
Pei Liu froze, his expression somewhat confused and bewildered.
And at that moment, Shen Jin supported his foot, his cool thumb gently stroking the cuts on the sole of his foot. Almost instantly, the wounds healed and vanished.
Pei Liu had only felt a very minor pain, which vanished in a flash. Only then did he realize he had been injured. He had originally thought he had just stepped on uneven debris, causing a throbbing pain.
This scene happened to be witnessed by his manager, Sister Yu, who had just arrived on set.
She saw the care in Shen Jin’s movements at a glance, and Pei Liu didn’t resist his closeness, appearing familiar and accustomed to it. There was an extraordinary intimacy and chemistry between them.
Wait, didn’t Pei Liu have one at home? Why was there another on set?
…Is Pei Liu two-timing?
Sister Yu was dumbfounded.
How did she not know before that Pei Liu had the potential to be a playboy?
Meanwhile, the main party, Pei Liu, was completely oblivious to her inner thoughts.
His foot was held in Shen Jin’s palm, his thumb brushing over it, bringing a continuous tickle that made him shiver sensitively, instinctively wanting to retract his foot.
But Shen Jin suddenly caught it, and only after two seconds, as if reacting, let go.
Shen Jin helping him heal was indeed a bit abrupt, but he didn’t think much of it. After all, the current relationship between him and Shen Jin was rather unique. To put it simply, he was like a piglet Shen Jin was raising, waiting to be fattened up before being slaughtered and eaten. Therefore, when the emergency rations appeared to be injured, Shen Jin would naturally be displeased and handle it himself.
During the break, Pei Liu was called over by Sister Yu. She whispered: “Which one do you actually like? You can’t be a playboy and break people’s hearts.”
Pei Liu was completely baffled.
Sister Yu added: “The one on set, Shen Jin, and the one at your home.”
Pei Liu: “…”
They are clearly the same one.
Pei Liu had no way to explain, so he could only say: “The situation is complex, and I had no choice but to temporarily… be with them. Sister Yu, you don’t need to worry, I’m not a playboy.”
He couldn’t understand Sister Yu’s thought process. And Sister Yu was even more shocked by his nonchalant attitude.
I had no choice but to temporarily be with two people, I’m not a playboy.
Listen, is that something a human would say?
This is practically saying—I’m not a playboy, my heart has just shattered into pieces, and different pieces have fallen in love with different people. You have to believe me, every piece of mine is very devoted.
What could Sister Yu do? She could only try her best to help cover for him, hoping Pei Liu would turn back soon.
Pei Liu thought he had explained clearly, and walking back, he found it quite funny in his heart. Sister Yu’s imagination was way too wild, actually imagining him and Xie Wuyu as a couple. How was that possible? No matter who he was with, it wouldn’t be Xie Wuyu; the other was an evil god who treated him as emergency rations.
Pei Liu looked up, seeing Xie Wuyu standing in the corridor waiting for him.
Xie Wuyu was unlike others; when waiting, he wouldn’t look down to play on his phone or find other things to do.
Instead, he focused entirely on waiting.
So no matter when Pei Liu walked over, he would always lock eyes with Xie Wuyu.
When those deep, pitch-black eyes stared at him, they actually gave off an illusion of deep affection.
Pei Liu froze slightly. Before he could walk over, Sister Yu called him from behind again, saying she had forgotten to mention something. But for a moment, Pei Liu’s mind was occupied by that gaze, and he blanked out.
It took Sister Yu calling him several times for him to finally snap out of it.
“What’s wrong?”
Pei Liu shook his head slowly, like a rusty robot: “…Nothing.”
He turned back and locked eyes with Xie Wuyu again, paused, and then quickly looked away, feeling inexplicably nervous.
Maybe I’ve been brainwashed by Sister Yu’s words; I actually feel like Xie Wuyu’s gaze is a bit unusual.
