A snap of the fingers. The woman, who had just been rolling her eyes and drooling on the bed, instantly transformed back into the regal queen lounging on the chaise lounge. Queen Aurora elegantly smoothed her silver gown, thin as a cicada’s wing, picked up her wine glass, took a sip, then lay back down, her fingers tracing her collarbone with the grace of an opera star taking a bow.
“Well, anyway, that’s how it is. A happy life—”
“Are you kidding me?!”
Aurora kicked her foot in anger.
“I would rather jump off this building than let that… that bastard! What the hell is going on? Where’s my father? My brothers?”
The queen tilted her head, looking at the blushing Aurora, and explained:
“They’re all dead.”
“?”
“To put it simply, the future Kingdom of Fran was in quite a mess. Our family was wiped out. Only Balian and I were left, starting from scratch…”
“Besides him, I had no one else to trust, so I asked him for help with many things. Then, well, I got couped~”
“Balian is so honest…”
“Let me tell you, the more honest someone is, the more twisted they are.”
The queen innocently stretched out her arm, showing the marks Balian had left on her.
“He was repressed, and I had humiliated him, so… well, at least we can learn to enjoy it.”
“Waa!”
Aurora quickly turned her head away.
Wow, what is all this? Not that—what’s with the chains? That must hurt like hell, right?
“Cute reaction.”
“What?”
“Anyway, let’s not waste time. Let’s change the subject—”
The educational segment was over. The queen sat up lazily, supporting herself with her hands on the soft couch, languid and seductive like she had just woken up.
“Aren’t you curious how I contacted you?”
“What do you mean?”
“You don’t think cross-time communication is easy, do you? I went through a lot of trouble to arrange this meeting…”
“Just say it.”
“Another thing I need to tell you—you’re going to die soon. A destined death.”
“?”
Aurora was startled, then realized:
“Impossible. If that were true, how could you have grown up?”
“That’s because a powerful being interfered. Let me explain first.”
Queen Aurora spoke slowly.
In the normal timeline, Aurora was wounded by a heretic’s magic and died within a few days.
But in Queen Aurora’s timeline, she was saved by a deity in the forbidden lands and became the deity’s contractor.
Later, Queen Aurora found a way to end the contract with the deity, stealing part of its authority. She ascended to become a being capable of crossing timelines, replacing the position of the deity that had saved her in the original timeline.
If future Aurora didn’t make a similar intervention—saving Aurora and forming a contract—then past Aurora would die, and future Aurora would cease to exist.
Aurora listened, her face turning red.
“Isn’t this the grandfather paradox? If I change, you disappear; if you disappear, I can’t change. Are you saying I’m destined to become that guy’s…? Then what’s the point of you coming back?”
“Not necessarily.”
Future Aurora explained:
“Magic and divine spells ensure that the me currently interfering with the past won’t be affected by you. Your actions will take effect the next time we communicate like this, altering the me that is about to take action.”
In other words, the future changing the past is like sending a text message. Even if the future changes, the past still remembers the message.
“So you’re saying I can change the future?”
“Of course. For example, with my intervention, you didn’t embarrass Balian and the reincarnated goddess during today’s inquiry. By the time you reach my age, those two probably won’t gang up to torment you anymore. That’s probably a good thing—Celestine’s divine spells are really unbearable…”
Although she was very curious about “ganging up to torment,” Aurora felt that knowing this would make her act strange in the future.
Aurora suppressed her impatience and said concisely:
“So you’re saying I need to sign a contract, right?”
“You’ve saved me a lot of trouble.”
The queen snapped her fingers, and a glowing parchment appeared in the air, covered in mysterious script. The terms were written in Fran language, clear and concise:
[Obligations of Party B (Queen of Fran)]
Article 1: Party B shall share a physique that can enhance strength, as required by Party A.
Article 2: Party B is causally connected to Party A, thereby gaining luck correction.
Article 3: Party B receives future memories shared by Party A. Due to brain capacity limitations, these memories will be converted into déjà vu and precognitive sensations to help Party B through difficult times.
[Obligations of Party A (Aurora)]
Article 1: Party B is strictly prohibited from dying. Any behavior that would lead to Party B’s death will be interfered with by Party A.
Article 2: Party B must strive to improve their power and strength.
“Is that all?”
Aurora stared at the parchment floating in midair, scanning the terms twice.
At first glance, it seemed like three rights versus two obligations, but in reality, apart from the clause against slacking off, everything benefited Aurora.
There were no hidden traps in the wording, no obvious exploitative clauses. That only made her more uneasy.
“What do you think, my past self?”
Queen Aurora urged.
“I have no objections. You have no reason to trick me, right?”
“Of course.”
“Are you sure you’re not tricking me?”
“I’m sure.”
“Then…”
Aurora picked up the magic pen floating beside the contract, ready to sign.
“Wait a moment. Did you forget to choose a physique that can enhance strength?”
Future Aurora reminded.
“Really? Any suggestions?”
“From what I remember, your current magic power is insufficient, and your spellcasting level is low, right?”
Aurora understood.
Aurora’s magical talent was rather tragic.
The main reason was that after experiencing PTSD from studying in her previous life, Aurora wasn’t a very diligent person after getting a silver spoon. What made it worse was that she initially learned swordsmanship, not magic.
Without effort and insufficient study time, she remained terrible.
Though she said she didn’t care, Aurora actually cared quite a bit. She had high self-esteem and didn’t want to appear too useless to be looked down upon by others.
“Do you have a physique that can help me cast spells?”
“Of course. I am a legendary mage.”
“That sounds like a pyramid scheme. Are you sure you’re not tricking me?”
“How could I be malicious to myself?”
Despite the repeated reassurances from her future self, Aurora was still uneasy.
She felt that Queen Aurora was bluffing. It felt familiar, but she couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was.
“Okay, I’ll sign.”
Aurora signed her name as instructed by her future self.
The magic pen dissolved into the air. The text on the parchment instantly glowed with golden-red light, then turned into countless motes of light that drilled into the lower abdomens of both Auroras.
Queen Aurora, lying on the chaise lounge, watched this scene. Her shoulders began to tremble, and the corners of her mouth kept rising.
No, she couldn’t laugh yet.
“Pfft… haha… hahahaha!”
She clutched her stomach, laughing uncontrollably on the couch, almost dropping her wine glass. A few drops of crimson liquid splashed onto her snow-white chest.
The queen wiped the tears of laughter from her eyes and pointed at the stunned Aurora.
“You’re so adorable! You did whatever I said?”
“Hey! What do you mean?!”
Aurora felt something was wrong. The motes of light entering her body didn’t bring any sensation of abundant magic; instead, her body felt strangely heavy.
She wanted to rush over and demand an explanation, but it was as if her bones had been removed. Her knees bent inward.
Her body uncontrollably fell downward.
It didn’t hurt much when she hit the ground, because the inside of her thighs were incredibly soft.
She collapsed in an extremely embarrassing posture—knees together, calves spread apart, butt sitting directly on the carpet, hands weakly propped between her legs.
Her cheeks instantly burned. Her breathing became rapid and heavy.
The muscles on the inside of her thighs unconsciously tensed and rubbed against each other.
“Haa… haa…”
Aurora’s eyes widened as she stared at the woman on the couch in disbelief.
“What did you do to me? You tricked me?”
Even her voice had become soft and weak, lacking any threat, almost like she was whining.
“Hehe, you little fool. I didn’t trick you.”
Queen Aurora smugly swung her legs, a childish grin on her face.
“[Charm Mage]—this physique can recover stray magical energy during spellcasting and convert it into a single, easily usable magic power, reducing the mana consumption of spells. In tabletop game terms, it increases your success rate for casting high-circle spells. As for the cost…”
She paused, licking her lips.
“The second law of thermodynamics—every thermodynamic process produces waste heat. As the name suggests, you’ll feel unbearably hot when casting spells. Anyway, enjoy~”
“You tricked me?!”
Queen Aurora snapped her fingers.
“I’m a succubus! Succubi are demons too. Didn’t anyone tell you to be careful when making deals with demons?”
With a crisp sound, her appearance began to change.
From her smooth golden hair, a pair of curved black demon horns slowly emerged.
The hem of her long skirt was lifted from behind, and a slender, heart-tipped tail wriggled out, flicking flexibly in the air.
But the most eye-catching part was her lower abdomen.
Under the paper-thin fabric, a pink-purple pattern glowed faintly, pulsing with her breath like a living thing in bloom.
“Are you stupid? If you don’t embrace ecchi, ecchi will come to you! Marrying a hero is pure love. Isn’t pure love better than…?”
She continued:
“Who knows which deity created this mess? Women in this world are super easy to mess up, and the more you resist, the more you mess up! Want to be a nun? Sorry, no can do~”
The succubus queen approached her foolish past self, tapped Aurora’s forehead with her finger, then said with exaggerated, ritualistic flair.
“My business is done. You should go. You are not a medal, and my neck is not your place. Go on, to the mortal world~”
The garden, the vines, and the horned woman shattered like a mirror.
Darkness shrouded her vision again.
Then came the familiar scent of her bedroom—faint lavender and old wood.
Aurora gasped sharply and found herself sitting on the bedroom carpet, in the exact same posture as in the illusion.
Her body was as weak as water, lacking even the strength to lift a finger.
Just then.
“Knock, knock, knock.”
The thick oak door was rapped.
The sound was especially loud in the silent room, making Aurora’s heart clench.
“Miss? Are you resting?”
It was Balian.
