A wave of hot air swept across the venue.

The red-haired elf examiner jumped to her feet in shock, her hands gripping her staff so tightly her knuckles went white. Her orange eyes were as wide as brass bells, as if she had seen a ghost.

Wasn’t this person supposed to be unable to cast third-circle spells?

A mage who could unleash such power might as well be casting fourth-circle magic!

Spell power was tied to the caster’s ability, described by caster level.

A mage with a high caster level could not only cast higher-circle spells but also amplify the power of lower-circle ones.

Did she take drugs? Or have some item on her?

No, I checked thoroughly, didn’t I?

Or perhaps her bloodline was special? Was she a sorcerer capable of metamagic by augmenting spell strength?

This Olivia child was truly unfathomable.

The elf examiner’s opinion of Aurora changed.

“Is this Fireball? How can you possibly cast such a huge Fireball?”

“I just tweaked the spell model a little,” Aurora said modestly.

“Teacher, can I pass the makeup exam?”

“Well…” The red-haired elf pondered for a moment.

Since Aurora’s thing looked like Fireball and worked like Fireball, treat it as Fireball.

After all, no teacher would make things hard for a student during a makeup exam.

Even if the queen wanted to make things difficult, it wouldn’t work.

Getting involved in the infighting among great nobles brought no benefits. The examiner didn’t want to publicly side with the queen and offend the Olivia family to death. Since Aurora had successfully cast Fireball, she would let her pass the exam, satisfying both sides.

“Congratulations, student. I declare…”

But just then, a sharp shriek harshly interrupted the examiner.

“Impossible! Absolutely impossible!”

It was the queen!

Queen Margaret now looked like a peacock whose tail had been singed in a great fire. Supported by three or four maids, she stood up, her face as pale as paper:

“This is sorcery! Cheating! Which Fireball can blow half a practice field apart?! There must be a banned high-level scroll hidden in her staff! Search her! I want a second search!”

The queen waved her folding fan, spittle flying everywhere, with none of her earlier dignified grace.

“Are you questioning the judgment of the chief examiner? Or accusing the chief examiner of shielding a cheater?”

Aurora seized the chance to sow discord.

At these words, the chief examiner could no longer sit still. She pulled a document from her clothes and rebutted the queen in a serious tone:

“I am a specially appointed foreign professor from the University of Frannea. Her Majesty the Queen has no right to interfere with my teaching! Please leave!”

The queen’s temples throbbed with anger.

Aurora tilted her head slightly, sweeping her gaze over the onlooking students, who looked like they had just attended their own father’s funeral, then added fuel to the fire:

“I hope everyone accepts their losses gracefully. Thank you for your generosity, and also thank Her Majesty the Queen for being willing to bet on me.”

The wails of the onlooking students pierced the sky.

“My money!”

“My living expenses!”

“You set up a scam to cheat us!”

“Ugh, can we make peace?”

“Wahhh, Mama, I want to go home!”

The students turned their anger against the queen, who had set up the gambling game. Seeing the situation turn unfavorable, the queen immediately ordered her maids to disperse the crowd. She wanted to have her people grab Aurora, but in the blink of an eye, Aurora had already vanished.

A moment later.

In front of the dormitory Aurora had rented.

The air erupted in dazzling arcane radiance, and a spinning blue portal opened out of nowhere, spitting out two lumps—one gold, one gray.

Balian steadied himself, immediately stood at attention, and bowed to the golden lump.

“Miss!”

Aurora patted her butt and got up. The moment she saw Balian’s serious, boring face, she forcibly suppressed her rising grin.

[Hehe, I can’t laugh. I can’t laugh.]

[Although the queen’s stupidity was hilarious, a mistress needed to maintain proper demeanor in front of her attendant.]

[Screw demeanor.]

“Hahahahahahaha!”

She laughed heartily, bending over and shaking, until she couldn’t catch her breath and doubled over with a violent cough.

Balian quickly stepped forward to pat her back, but Aurora, fully aware of her current state, dared not let him touch her. She raised a hand to block him. Balian was left standing there, a little awkward.

After laughing for a while and then calming down, the effects of adrenaline gradually faded. The burning sensation in her lower abdomen once again flooded Aurora’s mind.

It was a side effect of spellcasting.

Aurora took a deep breath, forcing herself not to think about anything lewd, and tried to change the subject:

“How much did we win from the bet?”

“Twenty livres, miss.”

The gray lump stayed seated for a long time, slowly getting up. Hearing the money, she immediately felt less dizzy.

Vapgis jumped up and grabbed Aurora’s arm:

“I used a whole Gate scroll for you! That’s a fourth-circle scroll! It cost a fortune! Pay me!”

“Oh, I’ll pay you. Just take whatever you spent from the household account. Don’t—don’t mess with me!”

Aurora couldn’t catch her breath; her legs gave way, and she collapsed straight onto Vapgis.

Her insides were on fire, burning so fiercely that even her toes curled. The faint shred of clarity she had barely managed to maintain was instantly reduced to ashes.

“Help me… to my room! Balian, don’t follow!”

She used the last of her rationality to command, then bit down hard on her glove, trying not to make a sound.

Otherwise, her next words might very well be telling Balian to take her somewhere nice for a “wham-bam.”

[This world’s female body is terrifying! Which perverted male-gaze mysterious great being created this world?]

[It’s basically impossible to get through it naturally!]

Vapgis, though confused, obediently did as she was told for the sake of adorable silver coins, pulling Aurora’s hand and running upstairs.

But even though Vapgis was running as fast as she could, Aurora still found it too slow.

Seeing only a few steps left, she shook off Vapgis and sped up on her own.

“Awoo!”

Aurora threw herself onto the bed like a sack of potatoes, shaking her head violently.

“How did this happen? It’s so hard… I want…”

She quickly covered her mouth.

[I’ll end up becoming an idiot like this!]

[Isn’t that how it goes in those doujins? Step by step, boundaries retreat. First drugged, then used, then used, then more (onomatopoeia), finally crying ‘I can’t go back,’ while continuing to enjoy it.]

[I’m doomed. I’m doomed.]

[In my last life, I couldn’t even quit cola. This is so much harder to bear than craving cola.]

[I don’t want that! No way!]

Before Vapgis could enter the room, Aurora scrambled off the bed, stumbled into the bathroom, locked the door, and hurriedly started filling the tub.

She couldn’t even wait for the water to fill up before starting to undress.

But her once nimble hands were now like chicken claws, trembling as they fumbled with the buttons and ties on her clothes.

Couldn’t undo them.

The silk ribbon buckles that usually felt so elegant now seemed like nooses tightening around her, choking her.

She was desperate. Poise, elegance—to hell with them all!

[It’s all social conditioning. Take this, my fists!]

So she pulled with all her might—

“Pop!”

A small copper button with a pattern flew off somewhere, clinking against the tiles.

She jumped straight into the water, grabbed a towel, and bit down on it hard to keep quiet. Then…

She wished she could die.
