Join the ServerAt the center of the military airfield, under the grave watch of assembled officers, a gasping black-haired girl stood amid the wreckage and flames.
Her long hair whipped wildly, many strands dyed a crimson red as if steeped in blood. Her pupils were completely consumed by scarlet, the earlier emptiness and despair gone, replaced only by unfathomable hatred and towering battle intent.
Shreds of torn restraint garments and surging blood energy tangled around her body, forming a half-covering blood-red battle suit that was both tattered and bizarre, carrying a kind of destructive beauty.
But what unsettled the officers most was the endlessly rising ominous aura from the girl. In pure intensity, it seemed to have surpassed the peak of the Qiongyu realm.
Looking at the airfield wrecked by the girl’s rampage, flames still burning, and Ling Che, who had just been easily struck into severe injury, the hearts of the warriors were swallowed by tension.
“W-what… what’s with her? Is that Heavenly Source?”
“She… is a witch?”
“Nan Muxi? Wasn’t she locked up in the Qionglan base? Why is she here?”
Ignoring the uneasy whispers, Lei Ze narrowed his eyes, gazing at the overbearing girl. His rough, rock-like face revealed true shock for the first time.
“This strength of yours… what’s going on?”
Lei Ze knew Nan Muxi’s power all too well. When she had been imprisoned in the black cell by the Huan Yue government, she had barely reached the peak of the Yaogu realm. In the black cell, cultivation was impossible. There was no way her strength could have increased.
But now?
“How did you do it?” Lei Ze asked coldly.
On the other side, Nan Muxi did not answer. Faced with Lei Ze, the man who had betrayed their unit to the Blood Spirit Domain and engineered the incident that sent her out of control to slaughter her own family, she did not want to communicate at all. Even more so, the black-haired girl’s rationality had long been burned away by the endless hatred, leaving only the purest urge to kill.
Killing Lei Ze was now her only thought.
She slammed her foot into the ground. With a loud bang, the alloy floor exploded. Her body turned into a blood-red bolt of lightning and charged at Lei Ze.
“Stop her!” The guards behind Lei Ze shouted in unison, surging forward.
These were death soldiers personally trained by Lei Ze, at minimum at the Yaogu stage. They wore the alliance’s top-grade alloy battle armor, held energy spears, and killed toward Nan Muxi with great momentum.
Lei Ze did not stop them; he simply watched coldly.
Facing the death soldiers closing in, Nan Muxi curved her lips into a mad, bone-chilling smile. With a clench of her five fingers, blood energy condensed into sharp blood blades that swept out without flourish.
A piercing screech of blades cutting the air.
The next second, wails echoed across the field. The leading guards never even had a chance to react. Their Heavenly Source was torn apart, their bodies pierced mercilessly by blood blades, falling helplessly to the ground.
Behind them, several mechanical armors activated their defensive mode and opened fire on the black-haired girl. But their attacks were equally useless. The energy bullets were precisely shattered by flying blood blades.
The black-haired girl calmly raised her hand, a blood whip coiling around her arm, and lashed out fiercely. An explosive blast disintegrated the heavy mechanical armor, sending parts and broken limbs flying in all directions.
In just over two seconds, the elite guards Lei Ze had brought were down.
After testing Nan Muxi with his subordinates, Lei Ze’s shock deepened. It was truly peak Qiongyu? Even beyond? She had not been this strong before coming to Yuhai City. The blood curse being activated indeed boosted her power, but not to this extent.
“I’ll give you one more chance. Confess honestly. Otherwise… hmm?” Before he finished, Nan Muxi responded with the most decisive counterattack. The blood whip lashed toward Lei Ze again.
Lei Ze leaped aside, and the military aircraft behind him was split in half. Seeing this, his expression darkened.
“Just like your foolish father. Stubborn.” The next instant, Heavenly Source surged around him, and he threw a heavy punch to suppress her directly.
But Nan Muxi’s speed had already exceeded its limit. Her body twisted strangely, like a blood phantom, easily dodging all counterattacks. Lei Ze’s punch flew past her and shredded the runway behind.
?! “Eh?” Lei Ze frowned, startled by the speed. That movement… was something a human body should not be able to do.
Nan Muxi, after evading, closed in on Lei Ze, spun, and slashed with blood blades, the motion mad yet carrying an unnatural twisted quality.
Lei Ze hastily blocked, crossing his arms to guard. Nan Muxi stared at him and attacked with wild ferocity.
After absorbing that golden pearl in prison, her strength had indeed skyrocketed. But the last shred of rationality left in her black hair warned her this state could not last long. She could feel her body breaking down, unable to bear so much power.
If this continued, her so-called “immortal body” might truly die.
Death. Nan Muxi was not afraid now. Having lost her family, loathed by others, with nowhere to return, she had lost any will to live. But before that, she would take this beast Lei Ze down with her!
Her blood-red pupils contracted sharply. A jolt of immense pain struck her entire body, yet even stronger power burst out from within.
“Clang!” Again and again, earth-shaking sounds rang out.
After blocking hundreds of blood blade slashes head-on, Lei Ze was actually forced back half a step, a huge, bone-deep wound opened on his chest, blood seeping out. Though insignificant to Lei Ze, Nan Muxi’s blood qi invaded through the wound, furiously destroying his life force.
Lei Ze glanced down at the bloodstained gash and then at the charging Nan Muxi. In his dark-gold vertical pupils, a trace of unease flickered. He could vaguely see something strange from Nan Muxi. And her aura was still rising?
“Alas, I can’t let you live anymore.” Sensing an inexpressible crisis, Lei Ze’s instinct warned him. A hum shook the air, and the power of the Shengxu realm was unleashed from his body.
Heavenly Source boiled and gathered, and an enormous dark-blue battle axe engraved with ferocious patterns materialized, the Spirit Weapon. It was a weapon condensed from Heavenly Source and one’s own soul power, the strongest force humans possessed against the alien races.
The appearance of the Spirit Weapon meant Lei Ze was now serious.
Confronted with Nan Muxi charging relentlessly amid countless blood blades, Lei Ze raised the axe high.
“Go see your foolish father!” Her immortal body was indeed troublesome, but that was for others. As long as he annihilated even the last cell, she could not survive.
The next moment, under the excited and adoring gazes of countless soldiers, the axe came sweeping down!
The sky changed color, the air was torn with a shrieking whistle, and the entire airfield shook violently as if it might collapse.
The blue-flame-enveloped strike howled forth. This blow could split mountains and sever seas, reducing to ash anything below the Shengxu realm.
Nan Muxi’s blood-red aura collapsed in an instant, and the countless blood blades were vaporized by the high heat, vanishing without a trace.
Her pupils shrank sharply. The shadow of death loomed over her. She exhausted every remaining ounce of power, her blood qi burned to the limit as a final barrier, but she could not hold it.
Staring dead at the attack about to swallow her, a glimmer of light returned to her fury-filled pupils along with a spark of reason. As reason returned, a wave of regret and unwillingness swallowed her.
Why… Why had she grown so much but still not enough… The bastard was right before her, but why… I don’t accept… Father, Mother… Brother Mu Cheng… I’m sorry, I still… “I couldn’t do it…”
As those last words left her mouth, the blue energy tore through her final defense and engulfed her. Darkness devoured all consciousness.
Meanwhile, on a shipping container not far away, a cute bear plush slowly stepped out from the shadows. Its button eyes silently watched everything.

After an unknown amount of time. Darkness faded. Warm and gentle air took its place. The faint fragrance of snow lotus drifted into her nose.
? Eh? This… this smell… so fragrant… so familiar? So… so reassuring? Wait, smell? I… I’m not dead? Why can I smell?
Suddenly snapping back to herself, Nan Muxi opened her eyes wide. “Th-this, where… where is this?”
What her eyes met was not hell, not a prison, not the cold laboratory she feared most, but an unfamiliar, clean, warm room filled with gentle sunlight. Soft bedding, white gauze curtains, warm lighting, sweet fragrance drifting in the air. She lay on a comfortable bed, all her injuries gone, all pain absent.
Briefly, she thought it was a dream. “Could it be I went to heaven? Could someone like me come to heaven?”
She murmured in confusion. Until a soft, gentle voice, like a heavenly sound, rang through the room: “It’s not heaven.”
Nan Muxi turned her head stiffly, and her eyes narrowed. By the bed sat a beautiful, angelic white-haired girl in a plain white dress, barefoot, holding a cute bear plush.
“S-Sacred Maiden?!” Nan Muxi let out a startled cry. Luoxue smiled softly.
“Good morning.”
