Chapter 1: The Fall of the White Rose

“I told you, as you are now, you are no match for me.”

Amidst the swirling dust, a figure clad in pure white was sent hurtling backward. She crashed through several buildings before finally coming to a violent halt, tumbling over a dozen times across the ground.

As she rolled, the young girl’s attire and posture shifted, and her aura visibly weakened.

Moyue was stuck in the wall, her eyes wide with shock. The platinum spear she had wielded clattered to the ground.

A white, columnar crystal prism, faintly etched with cracks, fell from her chest and became lost in the debris.

Her scattered golden hair, matted with blood, clung to her wounds. Her blue, diamond-shaped pupils glared up at the sky with fierce resentment.

‘Even my Sacred Form couldn’t defeat the Dark Demon Princess?’

“Do you truly believe you can escape?”

Immediately after, a young girl appeared, clad in a tight, purplish-black leather suit. Behind her, one wing was feathered, while the other blazed with fire.

Her hands were clasped behind her back, and she descended as if treading an invisible staircase, stepping through the void until she stood before Moyue.

Though riddled with wounds, Moyue glared indignantly at the black-haired witch in the sky, a defiant flame still burning in her eyes.

This was Leila, the Dark Demon Princess, the instigator of all disasters, the one who commanded the black sludge to corrupt this world!

“Magical Girl: White Rose? Heh, what a bright and pure name…”

Leila chuckled, her slender fingers lifting Moyue’s chin, forcing their purple eyes to meet. She spoke with a playful lightness.

“Yet, the cleaner and purer something is, the blacker it becomes once defiled. The brighter the light, the greater the darkness lurking behind it.

I no longer wish to kill you.

It would be far more amusing to witness your fall.”

Faced with the girl’s utter contempt, Moyue’s expression remained unchanged. She simply shifted her gaze to the left, towards the direction her teammates had retreated.

‘As long as Haiwen and the others can escape safely, that’s all that matters.’

This was a world riddled with anomalies and corruption. Black sludge, seeping from the planet’s life-giving tree veins, polluted everything.

It devoured all living creatures, transforming them into grotesque, bloodthirsty skeletal beasts.

This was a global catastrophe, engulfing all life.

The only ones capable of fighting back were the Magical Girls, chosen by the Holy Relics also born from the tree veins, granting them the power to purify the black sludge.

Though a cliché, without the existence of Magical Girls, humanity in this world could never have developed stably to this day.

And Moyue was the strongest among them, the Magical Girl: White Rose.

Just as Moyue, bracing her injured body, prepared to stand and continue fighting, countless tentacles erupted from the ground. They spread her limbs wide, binding her securely in an ‘X’ shape, denying her any chance to exert force.

Leila’s finger traced circles on Moyue’s slender chest. Her enchanting lips brushed against Moyue’s ear, whispering seductively.

“I find you quite interesting. Release your transformation, accept the black sludge’s modification, and fall into darkness with me.”

“I will never submit to you!”

Leila was not surprised by Moyue’s answer. She was in no hurry, instead producing a crystal ball and projecting an image onto it.

It showed four young girls, supporting each other as they made their escape—Moyue’s comrades, whom he had desperately covered and saved.

Moyue stared at the scene, her eyes wide with shock, utterly disbelieving of the image displayed on the crystal ball.

“My dear Magical Girl, you wouldn’t want anything to happen to your companions, would you?”

From the crystal ball’s omniscient perspective, countless tendrils of black sludge gradually encircled them.

Moyue knew that in their current state, they were utterly incapable of fighting.

“No!”

“Mmhmm~”

Leila’s face was alight with eager amusement as she gazed at the strongest Magical Girl before her, her face obscured by golden hair, her body entangled by tentacles, utterly defeated.

“I…” Moyue’s voice was tinged with a sob.

“Since you’ve agreed, then release your transformation. Let the black sludge completely remold you, utterly corrupting you into darkness.”

The tentacles binding Moyue loosened. He collapsed weakly to the ground, tears streaming down his cheeks. The Holy Relic Gungnir Spear in his hand transformed into a finger-sized crystal prism necklace.

The golden-haired, blue-eyed Magical Girl had now reverted from her transformation. Beneath the girl’s exquisite face was an utterly ordinary young man.

That’s right. The strongest, most beautiful, most magnificent Magical Girl Gungnir, the very embodiment of hope and light, was in truth just a regular university student.

And the most shocking part was that he was a boy!

If the city’s population hadn’t already been evacuated and signals hadn’t been blocked, this revelation would have shattered the illusions of countless fans who admired Magical Girl Gungnir from afar.

“I accept your terms. I will submit to the black sludge’s erosion… Please, let them go…”

This was his first failure as a Magical Girl, and it was devastatingly brutal.

Ninety-nine percent of those chosen by Holy Relics were human females.

Only Moyue was that one percent.

He had grown up without a mother or father, his only companion being his younger sister, Monai, who was ten years his junior. They were raised by an aunt, his mother’s best friend, who was also a Magical Girl.

Two years ago, by a twist of fate, he was chosen by the Holy Relic Gungnir, becoming the world’s only known male Magical Girl.

His combat talent, abilities, and compatibility with the Holy Relic were all top-tier. No skeletal beast could withstand more than ten rounds against him, not to mention his later awakening of the even more powerful Sacred Mode.

His undefeated record and uniquely tsundere personality had garnered Moyue a multitude of fans, making her a goddess in the hearts of all humanity, a light in the darkness.

This also gave humanity hope in their fight against the black sludge.

Thus, Moyue, brimming with confidence, led her four Magical Girl companions to confront the final boss, the Dark Demon Princess Leila.

But the outcome was a crushing defeat.

No one knew what happened to a Magical Girl enveloped by the black sludge after defeat; they only knew that she would ultimately plunge into an unfathomable darkness.

“Hahahaha! Indeed, I’m truly eager to see if you can withstand the black sludge’s erosion!”

Leila laughed even louder. The truth of the Magical Girl being male did not surprise her as much.

The black sludge, already awaiting her command, began to creep over Moyue’s body once more. Though liquid, it seemed to possess countless tiny tentacles, dissolving his clothes piece by piece.

Finally, like a needle, it pierced his skin, injecting an unknown liquid, erasing his memories, and corroding his consciousness. It ultimately enveloped his entire body, adhering to Moyue like a brand new skin.

The black sludge near his temples twisted into a needle, plunging directly into Moyue’s brain.

Ah!!!

Moyue writhed in agony, his memories vanishing little by little: those with his sister, his training with his teacher, his battles with his teammates…

They were all being incinerated, turning into ashes.

His male features began to disappear, replaced by slightly protruding breasts and buttocks, a gradually shrinking physique, and black hair that lengthened bit by bit until it reached her feet.

The pain of the transformation began to fade, replaced by an addictive, intoxicating pleasure.

‘No! I can’t give in to this.’

‘I absolutely cannot fall, my body!’

‘I am…’

‘I am…’

‘Who?’

In the dark corridor of memory, the two white characters of ‘Moyue’ were ultimately consumed by flames, leaving behind only an empty, hollow darkness.

Moyue’s body ceased twisting. The black sludge covering her gradually dried into a hard shell, eventually forming cracks around her face.

Bang

The black sludge cracked open, first revealing her translucent purple pupils. Then, like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, the girl’s exquisite face was unveiled as the black sludge fell away.

Amidst the ruins, the nascent girl stared blankly at Leila, who bore a seven-tenths resemblance to her, and slowly asked,

“Who am I?”

The black sludge completely peeled off, revealing her porcelain-like, delicate body. Faint crimson patterns shimmered on her shoulders, thighs, and abdomen, while her loose black hair concealed her vital areas.

Leila bent down, smiling gently as she embraced the girl. She spoke,

“From today onwards, you are my sister, Ila.”

Historical records state that on October 1st, 2010, humanity’s general offensive against the black sludge ended in failure. The strongest Magical Girl: White Rose’s whereabouts were unknown, presumed dead in battle, and her four remaining teammates all chose to retire. The human side suffered severe losses, with the renowned city of Modu completely destroyed.

On January 1st, 2011, a new enemy appeared on the battlefield against the skeletal beasts. According to surviving personnel, this individual claimed to be the Blood Demon Princess: Ila, sister to the Dark Demon Princess: Leila.
