Bodam’s nose twitched at the savory smell, and he opened his eyes.
He lifted his head, following the rich aroma of coffee, and met the eyes of Seung Ho, who was sitting where his feet had been.
‘Yikes.’
“Ah. I’m sorry.”
The startled Bodam kicked Seung Ho’s thigh with his heel and got up.
It was only natural to be surprised when he had been lying alone on the living room sofa and another person had appeared.
“When did you get here? I was reading a book.”
“You were sleeping.”
Bodam, pretending not to hear Seung Ho’s reply, yawned widely and stretched.
Seung Ho, who was watching him, placed the tablet PC he was holding on the table.
His pale face, which was grumbling about why he hadn’t just woken him up, looked even rounder right after waking up.
“If you’re tired, rest.”
“It’s fine. How much time do you have?”
“I have to go in 10 minutes.”
“10 minutes?”
Bodam’s swollen face crumpled at the much tighter schedule than he had thought.
It was already hard to see his face, and he felt it was a waste of time he had lost sleeping.
“I’ll do it right away.”
Bodam, who sat close to Seung Ho’s side, immediately held out his hand.
The reading wasn’t high, but his wavelength that was seeping into Bodam was slightly stinging.
It meant he was feeling a deep sense of fatigue.
“Team Leader-nim, how much did you sleep yesterday?”
Bodam, who gripped their clasped hands tightly, narrowed his eyes.
Up close, the shadows under the Team Leader-nim’s eyes looked even darker.
“I slept as much as I needed to.”
“How many hours is that much.”
‘Four hours?’ he asked, then asked back if he had slept less than three hours, but Seung Ho just offered him coffee, skipping the answer.
Bodam, for whom even the time to drink was a waste, just focused on guiding and held Seung Ho’s hand tighter.
‘This isn’t enough.’
“Just close your eyes for a bit. We’ll do it while hugging.”
Bodam extended his arms, saying that just holding hands wouldn’t be enough.
Bodam’s hand, which he had spread wide, meaning for him to lean on his shoulder and sleep, was caught by Seung Ho again.
“Just do it like this.”
Seung Ho maintained the sitting position, facing him, as he intertwined their fingers.
At his firm attitude, Bodam let out a light sigh as if he couldn’t help it and continued the guiding.
Seung Ho’s black eyes, filled with fatigue, did not leave Bodam’s white face.
“I got a bit of a weird tan, didn’t I?”
Bodam, who was gathering his wavelength with their clasped hands and carefully passing it over, pointed to his forearm, feeling Seung Ho’s gaze.
‘Is that even a tan?’ To Seung Ho’s eyes, it was just white.
Though it had gotten a little red.
“I even bought and applied a cream to get a tan, but it was sunscreen. I asked for something to use for tanning.”
Bodam had tried to buy tanning cream at a store with Bomi, using a combination of short English and body language, but had failed.
He had wanted to get a little tan to look healthier.
“White suits you.”
Bodam, who was turning his arm this way and that while holding Seung Ho’s hand, muttered that he wanted to try tanning at least once.
He thought that if his skin tone were just like Lee Tae Hwan’s, his image would seem more serious than now.
“But Team Leader-nim.”
Bodam, who was tidying up the sensitively twisted wavelength, asked with a face focused on guiding.
“Is there still a lot of work?”
He had a lot to oversee as a team leader in the past too, but he was less busy than now.
Seung Ho was handling the tightest schedule since he had entered the Center.
“It’s decreasing.”
Because he always answered so vaguely, Bodam didn’t know Seung Ho’s situation in detail.
He could only guess from the rumors floating around, like other people.
What was officially known was that the Esper Bureau Director, whom Tae Hwan had cursed as an old pig and a boomer, had been ousted, and Attack Team 1 had been dismantled.
Oh, and the Team Leader-nim’s real rank, which had been hidden.
The insiders of the Center were puzzled by the Esper Bureau Director’s compliant attitude of stepping down.
Contrary to expectations that he would stubbornly hold onto his position until his last breath, he had disappeared without a trace, without even a retirement ceremony, in a very shabby state.
Some predicted that he had a major weakness held by the Center Director, and baseless speculations that he had a terminal illness or had gone senile were rampant.
Many clicked their tongues, saying that he, who had been making enemies since his youth, would be assassinated without anyone knowing if he lived quietly without power.
“They say the Team Leader-nim is the most likely candidate for the next Bureau Director.”
When Bodam first heard this from the rumor-sensitive Yeon Yeok, he had wondered what he was talking about, but there was no one like our team leader.
He, who was the highest-ranking Esper in the country, already stood at the top of the Espers in terms of power.
Already, important matters of the attack units were all passing through Seung Ho’s hands.
In place of Team 1, which had been managing the civilian area, Seung Ho had created a special arrest team and caught all the remaining unregistered individuals.
Seung Ho’s trust, who had taken the lead in solving the Center’s biggest headache, grew higher day by day.
Some gossiped that he, who had been hiding his ambition, had drawn a big picture to seize the Bureau Director position, but Seung Ho’s purpose was only one.
“Would you like it if I became one?”
“What?”
“I asked if you would like it if I became the Bureau Director.”
“No, well… Is my opinion important? It’s up to you, Team Leader-nim.”
Bodam, who was flustered by Seung Ho’s sudden question, shook his head.
Seung Ho paid close attention to even Bodam’s small, meaningless gesture.
“But honestly, I’m against you getting busier than you are now.”
Bodam, who had imagined Seung Ho becoming the Esper Bureau Director, also wondered if there could be a greater catastrophe.
He could picture what kind of leader he, an excessive perfectionist, would become without even seeing it.
‘It seems like it would be too… intense.’
“Just don’t overdo it.”
Since he was still young, he clasped his hands together, hoping that he would keep his current position for the next 5 years.
Knowing that this much of a hand gesture was tolerated, he even pretended to clap.
“Because you can’t get sick. Do it in moderation, in moderation.”
Bodam, who had caressed Seung Ho’s hand, which was large enough to cover his own, stopped joking and became serious.
His heart would often sink when he touched the Team Leader-nim’s left hand, which he had been worried might not come back due to the slow regeneration speed.
He had even developed a habit of pressing the large palm and long fingers, which had returned safely, one by one, checking if they moved well.
“It doesn’t hurt when it rains anymore, right?”
“It doesn’t hurt.”
Before his left hand had fully recovered, he had often been seen taking painkillers on rainy days.
Even after his hand had fully returned, he had seemed to be going to the medical center for a while.
Now, it seemed he was really all better.
“You don’t get sick either.”
At the low voice filled with sincerity, Bodam nodded his head.
The words “don’t get sick” from the Team Leader-nim sounded a little different.
“You can’t get sick. Yoon Bodam.”
‘Was it because his healing ability had disappeared?’
Seung Ho had worn a particularly serious expression even while looking at Bodam, who had caught a cold after playing his fill.
Even though he said he was fine, he had uncharacteristically postponed all his work and stayed in the waiting room all day.
Even though there were already more than enough people to nurse him, with Tae Hwan and Ji Oh.
He had only been at ease after Bodam had eaten two bowls of porridge and was looking for dessert.
“You should worry about your own body, Team Leader-nim.”
Bodam, who had answered playfully, checked the tight schedule and dropped his hands.
Because it seemed that this much contact wouldn’t be enough.
“Let’s hug for just 1 minute.”
Bodam, who had spread his arms wide, threw himself at Seung Ho before he could answer.
He rushed in so strongly, almost as if he were ramming him with his chest, worried that he might refuse.
“Let’s take it when it’s offered.”
He patted Seung Ho’s back and hugged him, meaning for him to receive the guiding quietly.
Unlike Lee Tae Hwan, whose body temperature was the complete opposite, it felt cool to touch Seung Ho.
Because someone had turned up the heating in the waiting room to full blast and it was a bit hot, the Team Leader-nim’s low body temperature was actually nice.
“Just 1 minute. No, 50 more seconds-.”
Bodam’s mouth, who had been about to count the seconds for Seung Ho, who was still obsessive about time management, though less so than before, was blocked.
He couldn’t continue speaking as a familiar sensation touched his lips.
Bodam, who was surprised by Seung Ho’s lips that had touched lightly and then silently pulled away, blinked his eyes.
Seung Ho came closer again slowly, checking Bodam’s expression as if asking for permission.
His gradually tilting head and open lips moved very slowly.
As if preparing to pull back at any moment.
He constantly observed Bodam with a gaze that asked if it was okay.
Bodam did not push Seung Ho away.
Thus, the two began a short mucous membrane guiding.
Seung Ho’s arm, who had bent his upper body as much as Bodam had lifted his head high, wrapped around his thin back.
The two bodies, which were in close contact without any gaps, maintained a static posture.
Only within their deeply intertwined mouths did busy movements occur.
“Haa…”
Seung Ho, who had lifted Bodam’s chin so he could breathe, licked up the root of his plump tongue.
At the sensation, Bodam, who had opened his mouth wide, squeezed his eyes shut and let out a hot breath.
Seung Ho’s lips, which the gentle breath had touched, sucked on Bodam more persistently than his gaze.
At the sensation of their body temperatures mixing in an instant, Bodam’s body eventually went limp.
A kiss with the Team Leader-nim, was still the same.
