Chapter 133 : Side Story 11 The Fox and the Rogue

“…Wait, what kind of motherfucker is this?”

Livid, Hae-jin was on the absolute verge of chucking the tablet across the room when his hand froze at the sudden sound of his own name coming through the audio file.

  • Look, they say if Esper Cha Hae-jin comes within a one-meter radius of his dedicated Guide, he’ll literally bite it. What else was I supposed to do? I’m sorry I couldn’t keep our promise… but if I want to survive that psychopath, I didn’t have a choice.

Hearing that explanation, it immediately clicked who the speaker was. It was almost certainly the Esper Lee Chae had chosen as his alternative subject during their initial guiding practicum instead of Hae-jin.

Hahaha. Wow, but why is he speaking as if he’s giving an official interview? What the hell is this?

  • I’m recording this right now. Just in case you try to backpedal later and pretend it never happened. So don’t leave out a single detail—tell me everything that occurred.

As the Esper’s testimony dragged on for quite some time, Hae-jin’s eyes narrowed into dangerous slits.

“Wow, Jung Lee Chae… you’re a total fox, aren’t you?”

Silence claimed the audio file for a prolonged moment after the Esper finished speaking. Hae-jin briefly wondered if that was the extent of the evidence, but another voice abruptly cracked through the speaker.

  • f*ck, don’t play games with me. I’m going to sue you.

Who on earth was this one?

  • Can’t you see this right now? Do I look like I’m capable of functioning normally, huh? You’re just as bad as that lunatic.
  • Weren’t you the one who initiated the sexual harassment in the first place, Sunbae?

One belonged to Lee Chae’s voice, and the other belonged to the absolute trash who had tried to smooth-talk Lee Chae—the very same one Hae-jin had covertly handled behind Lee Chae’s back. Wait, so Lee Chae actually knew about that? How?

Even now, but especially back then, Hae-jin had gone to extreme lengths to ensure Lee Chae never witnessed his darker nature, managing the flies exclusively under the radar. He hadn’t possessed a single shred of suspicion that Lee Chae was aware. How on earth had he found out?

  • You, you said you were gathering evidence to file a lawsuit against that bastard, so why are you taking his side?
  • I explicitly stated I was going to sue Cha Hae-jin, Sunbae. I never once stated I was on your side.
  • Why, you little…

The further the recording progressed, the wider Hae-jin’s jaw dropped in absolute disbelief. A lawsuit…! Jung Lee Chae had genuinely intended to sue him! While he had certainly heard Lee Chae throw out hollow threats to sue him back when he was acting incredibly prickly, he had never once believed the younger man was serious.

Right, that had been his fatal miscalculation in the early days—assuming Jung Lee Chae had been just as instantly captivated by him as he was by Lee Chae.

Yet, even while understanding Lee Chae’s historical perspective, two specific mysteries completely baffled him.

First, given that Hae-jin had practically stalked him 24/7 without leaving a single pocket of free time, when on earth had Lee Chae found the window to record these interviews? And second…

Despite consciously knowing exactly how wicked Hae-jin truly was, Lee Chae had still chosen to give him his heart anyway.

Up until this very second, Hae-jin had harbored a lingering, deep-seated anxiety that if Lee Chae ever fully uncovered his twisted, unhinged nature, he would instantly bolt.

Yet… the reality was that he had known everything from the very beginning. The shock left Hae-jin’s head spinning.

And simultaneously, an intense, sudden nostalgia for those unrecoverable early days hit him. The days when he had relentlessly pursued and courted the marvelous Jung Lee Chae—the man who had ultimately saved him, and saved the entire world…

“I guess today calls for the arrogant, lawless rogue version, then?”

Just thinking about it caused a tight, heavy ache to coil deep in his groin.

“Jung Lee Chae, what exactly did you feed me? That wasn’t a digestive pill—did you slip me an aphrodisiac instead?”

“What kind of crazy nonsense is that? I literally ran all the way to the pharmacy to get you medicine.”

A sudden, sharp chill raced down Lee Chae’s spine, causing his entire body to shudder. It was likely just his imagination, but he felt an eerie sensation that Hae-jin had reverted entirely to the state he was in before he had been fully tamed.

Right. That specific glint in his eyes… it looked exactly like the unhinged, dangerous spin it carried when they first met.

“Then how do you explain this?”

Hae-jin gestured directly toward his own lap, utilizing a completely absurd train of logic. It was utterly ridiculous for him to blame an aphrodisiac for an erection he naturally developed around the clock. If Lee Chae had actually drugged him, he wouldn’t feel this cheated.

“Why are you taking that out on me? Go sing the national anthem or something. Did something bad happen? Why are you suddenly acting like this?”

Hae-jin’s eyes flashed aggressively.

“Didn’t you move in with me knowing exactly what kind of piece of work I am?”

What on earth was this sudden, out-of-nowhere nonsense?

Knowing that the best cure for a madman was total silence, Lee Chae let out a heavy sigh, gathered the digestive medicine and the water bottle, and turned to slip out of the bedroom. However, Hae-jin’s hand instantly clamped around his wrist, forcing him to set the items right back down. A heavy weight immediately pressed into his back.

Lee Chae attempted to lean forward to evade the containment, but completely overwhelmed by Hae-jin’s sheer mass, he was driven directly down onto the mattress. As if he had been waiting for this exact opening, Hae-jin instantly mounted him, pinning his body beneath his own.

“Why aren’t you answering me? You knew from the very start that I was a completely hopeless, answers-not-found bastard, didn’t you? Am I wrong?”

The hand that had been roaming over his trousers deftly slid the zipper down, plunging straight inside. While s*x with Hae-jin was always welcome, the current atmosphere was deeply unsettling. Ever since their reunion, once their hearts had fully aligned, Hae-jin had never initiated intimacy with this kind of raw, aggressive edge, leaving Lee Chae entirely bewildered by the sudden shift.

As if attempting to soothe him, Hae-jin pressed heavy, demanding kisses along his neck. Every pocket of hot, ragged breath brushing against his bare skin triggered an intense shiver.

“Haa… it tickles.”

Was it driven by the volatile atmosphere? Or perhaps the thrilling risk of being inside his family home where anyone could walk in? For some reason, his body was heating up at an alarming pace today. Noticing the flush, Hae-jin tilted his head, capturing his lips in a fierce kiss.

“Do you enjoy being devoured by a psychopath?”

“…?”

Did he genuinely ingest an aphrodisiac instead of digestive medicine? Had the pill Lee Chae purchased actually been a stimulant? Hae-jin’s voice carried an unusually rough, gravelly rasp today—sounding exactly like the low, predatory rumble of a wild beast.

Startled by a sudden, sharp nip against his shoulder, Lee Chae arched his neck, only for his gaze to hitch on an jarring detail.

The box resting above the wardrobe—the one that always caused a tight knot of discomfort in his chest whenever he lay on this bed because it was overflowing with their shared history—was distinctly open. Since he had meticulously sealed it with heavy tape, there was absolutely no way it had simply come undone on its own.

Ah, damn it. Did he see it? Of course he saw it.

A man possessed of a curiosity as insatiable as Cha Hae-jin’s would never leave such a find unexamined. It wasn’t that he felt a sudden surge of acute embarrassment or shame over being caught secretly hoarding relics of their past.

Rather, the sole problem pinning his thoughts was the USB drive—the one secret he had firmly resolved to take with him to the grave. Back when he had been utterly driven to his wits’ end by Cha Hae-jin’s relentless stalking, he had secretly summoned the victims to the debris management unit to conduct those interviews. At the time, he had gathered the files with a genuine, burning intent to file an official lawsuit, never imagining in his wildest dreams that their reality would unfold like this.

The absolute best-case scenario would be that Hae-jin had merely flipped through the physical items and missed the USB entirely, but the words Hae-jin had dropped moments ago weighed heavily on his mind.

Asking if he hadn’t known exactly what kind of piece of work he was from the very start.

As expected, he must be deeply offended. No matter how thick-skinned Cha Hae-jin usually behaves…

Hae-jin’s hand, which had been exploring his lower body, suddenly gripped his member firmly. As a sharp whimper escaped Lee Chae’s lips, Hae-jin licked along the shell of his ear, letting out a low growl.

“Jung Lee Chae, focus.”

He murmured, rubbing firmly against the glans. Lee Chae felt his shaft immediately harden in response as his breathing grew ragged. Before completely surrendering his senses to the encroaching heat, Lee Chae desperately needed to verify one crucial detail, tensing his thighs slightly.

“Hngh, wa-wait…”

“What? Do you want me to play with your nipples too?”

“No, stop! Did you… did you happen to look?”

“Look at what?”

“The box over there…”

The moment Lee Chae pointed a finger toward the top of the wardrobe, Hae-jin’s hand slid aggressively beneath his shirt. The large palm swept over his abdomen before climbing higher, firmly pinching and twisting his nipple. The simultaneous, intense friction targeting both his upper and lower body forced a breathless groan from his throat.

“If you’re referring to the definitive evidence proving you already knew exactly what a wicked bastard I am ahead of time, then yes, I looked.”

Lee Chae let out a sharp gasp. Capitalizing on the momentary paralysis, Hae-jin smoothly stripped his trousers and underwear down in a single motion. While his touch wasn’t inherently rough, Lee Chae was hit with an uncanny, intense sensation that he was being formally disciplined.

He needed to apologize, right? Because he was objectively the one in the wrong here. While he scrambled to formulate the words, his shirt was deftly pulled over his head. Hae-jin remained entirely, immaculately dressed in his formal suit, while Lee Chae had been rendered completely bare beneath him.

“It’s been a while since I’ve taken a trip down memory lane, so I fully intend to behave like an absolute rogue today.”

“Hngh, are… are you angry?”

“Let’s see… Given that my Lee Chae loves me anyway despite everything, why on earth would I be angry?”

Though he claimed he wasn’t angry, the cadence of his voice was distinctly laced with a dangerous edge that anyone could read.

“You do love me, right? Continuously, ever since back then.”

Was he truly not angry? His tone seemed to carry an underlying, teasing trace of mischief…

Usually, whenever their bodies were joined, their emotions synchronized so perfectly that spoken words were entirely redundant. Yet today, Lee Chae found himself completely incapable of reading a single fragment of what was flashing through Hae-jin’s mind.

Hae-jin’s hands roamed aggressively, charting every inch of Lee Chae’s body. His nipples were hardened to the point of near-ache, and his overstimulated lower body was already weeping a heavy trail of pre-cum.

“Hngh, a-ah… I do… lo-love you. Ever since back then.”

“Liar. You just want to get fucked right now. Isn’t that the truth?”

Only then did absolute clarity strike Lee Chae. Hae-jin wasn’t genuinely furious; he was thoroughly, entirely intoxicated by the current scenario. Lee Chae knew from extensive experience that if he didn’t actively play along when Hae-jin was in this specific mood, the man would torment him until he was on the absolute brink of death. Cooperating was officially the fastest escape route.

“No answer?”

The hand anchoring his member tightened its grip with immense, sudden force.

“Aaagh!”

The sudden spike of pain turned his vision entirely white. Gasping through the agony, he looked down to find Hae-jin clamping down on his length with absolute authority.

In his heart, he wanted to unleash a barrage of curses and tell him to cut out this goddamn nonsense immediately, but burdened by the weight of his own exposed guilt, he couldn’t summon a single word of protest.

I am technically the criminal here. The criminal who harbored intentions to sue him, entirely blind to the fact that I would fall hopelessly in love with him… and a remarkably twisted criminal at that, choosing to hoard that very evidence as a precious memento. Fine, he would play along. It wasn’t as if Cha Hae-jin throwing an absolute childish tantrum was a novel occurrence anyway.
