Chapter 17: A Restroom Confession

Wang Muzhe couldn’t help but reveal a look that implied, ‘It’s perfectly normal for me not to remember this,’ but he still said aloud, “Su Xuan and I have quite a strong connection. Now that he’s playing a role I once played, perhaps it’s a destined connection.”

Liu Pangpang chuckled twice, responding, “Exactly! He went from playing a tree in your scene to playing *you*. It’s a kind of fate, indeed.”

Wang Muzhe was speechless.

Wang Muzhe felt the conversation was about to grind to a halt.

Ever since he had sat down, he couldn’t help but take a sip of coffee every time Liu Pangpang spoke. By now, he was feeling a bit agitated and his bladder was full. He stood up with a touch of awkwardness and said subtly, “I’m going to the restroom.”

Liu Pangpang, who had been laughing cheerily, shrieked in alarm the moment he heard this. “No! You can’t!”

Wang Muzhe was startled himself. Thankfully, he was sitting, or he might have had an accident. His expression darkened slightly with annoyance. “Agent Liu, why can’t I?”

He hadn’t managed to keep his voice down, and they weren’t the only ones in the reception room. At the sound of Wang Muzhe’s voice, everyone turned their heads.

They saw the renowned Best Actor Wang, filled with indignation, demanding of a chubby man, ‘Why can’t I?’

The expressions on everyone’s faces instantly became very complex.

It seemed to imply many stories—Best Actor Wang was known for being quite open about his relationships, having brought many lovers to the company, but this was the first time they’d seen someone two to three times the size of his usual partners.

And from the looks of it, Best Actor Wang was even the one pursuing.

‘Oh my god, ‘Why can’t I?’—it sounds so full of the grievance and pain of unrequited longing. How pitiful.’

Wang Muzhe watched, wide-eyed, as a group of people, eager for gossip, shuffled their chairs and tables several dozen centimeters closer.

Their faces wore expressions of utter astonishment: ‘WoW’.

Wang Muzhe was speechless.

Liu Pangpang was speechless.

Wang Muzhe forced a smile. “I’m going.”

Liu Pangpang knew he was in the wrong and couldn’t stop someone from using the restroom. He quickly messaged Su Xuan: [Wang Muzhe is coming to the restroom! Are you and Shen Chao ready yet?]

Su Xuan was just as anxious: [I’m ready! But Shen Chao isn’t!]

Liu Pangpang’s face was flushed with urgency: [Then hurry up and get him ready!]

Su Xuan had completely abandoned his dignity. He had just briefly analyzed his emotional journey of confession to Shen Chao, but Shen Chao had merely scrutinized him with a profound gaze for a moment before posing a question: “I have a question…”

Su Xuan held his breath and swallowed hard.

Shen Chao stared directly at Su Xuan. “…If you had liked me back then, is there a chance you might have later developed feelings for my girlfriend?” He paused, his lips pressed together slightly, as if with a hint of aversion, before adding, “Of course… this person isn’t my girlfriend.”

Su Xuan was utterly bewildered.

Su Xuan’s large eyes held immense confusion. “Why would I like your girlfriend?”

‘Is this some new way of showing love for someone by loving everything associated with them?’

Shen Chao said coldly, “How am I supposed to know why you’d like her.”

Su Xuan was even more confused.

Su Xuan was on the verge of scratching his head. He tried to explain, “I’m gay. Why would I like your girlfriend?”

Shen Chao’s gaze seemed to pierce through Su Xuan. “Are you really gay? Can you prove it to me?”

Su Xuan was speechless.

Having been gay for many years, Su Xuan was encountering, for the first time, a philosophical question about proving his sexuality in a restroom. He was momentarily stunned.

Shen Chao’s eyes grew even colder, his jaw tightening. Su Xuan could clearly read the meaning in his expression: ‘See, you can’t prove you’re gay. You *do* like my girlfriend, after all.’

Su Xuan was on the verge of collapse—how on earth did Shen Chao arrive at such a conclusion!

‘Damn it! This conclusion is full of holes, yet it’s so unassailable that I don’t know how to refute it!’

Liu Pangpang messaged Su Xuan, stomping his feet in desperation, his face red: [Wang Muzhe is about to come in!!!]

Su Xuan’s forehead also turned red with anxiety. Seeing his look of indignant embarrassment, as if he’d been caught, Shen Chao couldn’t help but clench his hand. He said indifferently, “Never mind, I didn’t come here to talk about these things.”

Su Xuan lowered his head, offering no reply.

Shen Chao glanced at him. “Let’s go, there’s still business to attend to.”

The restroom door behind Shen Chao stirred, slowly twisting open. Shen Chao began to walk towards the door.

Su Xuan took a deep breath.

Su Xuan grabbed Shen Chao by the collar, yanking him into the stall. With swift efficiency, he kicked the stall door shut. Before Shen Chao could utter a shocked sound, Su Xuan placed one foot on the toilet lid, pressing Shen Chao down. He took a deep breath and kissed him fiercely.
