Chapter 48: Joining the Supernatural Events Department

“Appearance and clothes?” I was currently in Xia Yubing’s form, so the two ghosts mistakenly thought I was their daughter?
As for clothes, the police did bring out some of Xia Yubing’s clothes for me.
Was it because her aura lingered on them?

I repeated these two questions to the Bixian for confirmation, and received “yes” as their answer.

“I mostly understand now.
One more question: you want Luo Xiao’s blood.
Is there anything special about her blood?” Mo Qingyan asked.

Upon hearing her question, I was stunned.
Yes, why did these evil ghosts specifically want my blood?
I had this doubt during the last Bixian summoning, but didn’t have time to ask.

“Yes.” That was the Bixian’s answer.
My blood indeed had something special about it, but I didn’t understand what.
So I asked, “What’s special about it?”

“Hidden Yin” The inverted male ghost wrote two traditional characters on the paper.

“Hidden Yin constitution?!” Mo Qingyan was a little surprised, but quickly calmed down and said, “Bixian, Bixian, our game for tonight ends here.
Please depart slowly.”

I immediately exclaimed, “Wait!
I haven’t finished asking my questions!”

However, the Bixian ritual was presided over by Mo Qingyan.
After she finished speaking, both ghosts disappeared, and the second bag of blood also vanished with them, presumably taken by the inverted human pillar ghost.

“Alright, that’s enough for tonight.
Your body is already very weak.
If you continue the Bixian game, malevolent energy might enter your body, and you won’t be able to handle it,” Mo Qingyan said.

“But the solution for those two ghosts hasn’t been asked yet, I…
Eh?” I had just tried to stand up, but my legs gave out, and I sat back down, simultaneously feeling a wave of dizziness.

“Brother Xiao!
Are you alright?” Xiao Qing immediately rushed over anxiously to support me.

“This feeling, I’ve lost too much blood.
Why?
I only drew four hundred milliliters of blood!” I said weakly, feeling cold all over.

“That’s natural, the yin energy here is already heavy.
While drawing blood and playing Bixian, your vital energy naturally decreases, and malevolent energy enters your body.
If I had stopped you any later, you might have fainted.
Let’s go outside first, then we can talk,” Mo Qingyan said.

“I’ll help you out,” Xiao Qing said, helping me stand up.
Mo Qingyan went ahead and pushed open the door to the Supernatural Events Department, and we walked out from the empty wall.

It’s worth noting that the funeral couplet pasted on the empty wall would disappear once we entered, then reappear inside the Supernatural Events Department, making it impossible for outsiders to enter.
When leaving, Mo Qingyan often had to bring the couplet with her, taking it back to the ostensible Supernatural Events Department.

Upon stepping outside, I suddenly felt a warmth, and my body was no longer so weak.
Some color returned to my face.
It was then I realized how chilling the Supernatural Events Department was inside, for it was essentially a ghost realm.

“Here, have some candied dates.
These can replenish blood.
When you go back, eat more pork liver, red meat, and spinach to replenish your blood.
That’s why I advised you earlier to ideally draw blood beforehand, and not while in contact with ghosts, as it’s very easy for yin energy to enter your body,” Mo Qingyan said, handing me a bag of candied dates she seemed to have prepared long ago.

“Thank you.” I took out a candied date and ate it.
It was very sweet, and after eating it, I did feel a bit better.
Feeling a little awkward having them watch me eat, I offered the candied dates to Xiao Qing and Senior Sister Mo to share.

Three beautiful girls walking through the club building corridor was still very conspicuous.
Soon, people noticed us, and I could hear their whispers.

“That’s the school beauty, Xia Yubing, she’s really pretty.” “The one next to her, isn’t that Senior Sister Mo, who manages clubs in the student council?
When did they get to know each other?” “I don’t know, but they seem to have a good relationship, sharing candied dates and all.”

Xiao Qing’s face was lined with black: “Only the two of you are famous; no one recognizes me, right?”

“Uh, the famous one is Xia Yubing, not me,” I also said, feeling dejected.
Being exposed to everyone’s gaze and being the center of attention truly made me uncomfortable.

“It’s all the same, isn’t it?
You’ll have to live as Xia Yubing from now on,” Ou Zhiqin said, a little annoyed.

“What’s so great about that?
I’m still being targeted by her parents’ ghosts!” I said, distressed.
I clearly had no choice.

“Alright, stop bickering about these small matters.
We’ve arrived,” Mo Qingyan said, leading us to the visible Supernatural Events Department.
Opening the door, I saw that the club members who had been working on the school magazine and organizing photos were still there.
They looked up and greeted Mo Qingyan: “Hello, President.
Uh, who is this young lady?
Didn’t she visit our club room once yesterday?”

Indeed, I had followed Xiao Qing to the Supernatural Events Department yesterday to get that funeral couplet, but I was only there for less than a minute.
The fact that they still remembered me only goes to show how recognizable and memorable Xia Yubing’s appearance truly was.

“Yes, her name is Xia Yubing, and she’s a newcomer preparing to join the Supernatural Events Department,” Mo Qingyan said.
Upon hearing this, several club members immediately showed excited expressions.
Who doesn’t like a beautiful girl?

“Wait a minute!
Senior Sister Mo, I never said I wanted to join the Supernatural Events Department!” I hadn’t expected Mo Qingyan to say that, and I was caught off guard.

“Oh, did you forget your promise yesterday?
If I helped you, you would agree to do one thing for me?
My request is for you to join the Supernatural Events Department,” Mo Qingyan smiled.

“Eh?
Is that all?” I was stunned.
I had originally thought it would be a very difficult request, but it was surprisingly simple—just joining a club.

“It’s not just about joining the club, you know.
You have to genuinely work for the Supernatural Events Department and participate in club activities.
You can’t just join in name and then not show up,” Mo Qingyan added.

“Of course, I stand by my word.
Where’s the application form?
I’ll write it now,” I said decisively.
A life-saving favor must be repaid, and besides, I was still asking for help now.

Mo Qingyan handed me the application form and then said to the others, “Everyone, your club activities for today can end here.
I have something to discuss privately with Xia Yubing, and I’ll also introduce her to the club activities.”

“Okay, President,” the other students said, standing up and quickly leaving, giving me an encouraging look.
They all seemed to highly respect Mo Qingyan, indicating her strong authority within the Supernatural Events Department.

“Why did you make them all leave?” I asked, curious.
Joining a club didn’t need to be so mysterious, did it?

“Later, I need to tell you about how to handle Xia Yubing’s parents.
They aren’t people who all know about gods and ghosts, so it’s easier to explain if they’re all gone,” Mo Qingyan said.
