Join the ServerThe intertwined destinies of Magical Girls often led to this. Carnelian, a Magical Girl herself, simply could not comprehend the smile on the face of the Magical Girl before her.
“Carnelian. If you wish to protect your child, then stop being a Magical Girl. Do not train him like this.”
Her brow furrowed. “No matter how hard an ordinary human tries, how can they ever be a match for a Magical Girl? How can they possibly fight against monstrous demons and strange beings?”
“It’s like expecting a human to grow as massive as a whale. Talent and effort have absolutely nothing to do with it.”
The young girl emphasized this stark reality.
“But if I retire, will that change anything? If I relinquish my Magical Girl powers, will he then be safe?”
Carnelian’s expression was icy. “No, it won’t. If I abandon this power, darkness will instantly devour us all. I can only make him stronger, so he can protect himself. I cannot always be there to shield him.”
Speaking, she stepped forward. “Come! Liuyun! Attack me! Defeat me!”
Standing before this Magical Girl, clad in a long, crimson dress, was a young boy named Ye Liuyun.
He was a well-known figure in He Yao’s class.
At this very moment, he was swinging his fists, launching an attack toward Carnelian.
A flicker of disappointment crossed Carnelian’s eyes. “Is this truly all you can manage?”
Her body swayed ever so slightly, the movement almost imperceptible. Yet, the instant Ye Liuyun’s fist made contact, he was sent flying backward.
The sight was so exaggerated it looked like a staged fight, much like the videos of so-called Qigong masters from a bygone era.
A mere push, and the entire arena seemed to flip.
Evidently, however, Ye Liuyun was not faking it.
His body ached all over, but he struggled to his feet once more.
He knew his mother’s methods well. Though many were aware of Magical Girl Carnelian’s identity, they also understood that no one had seen her true form in years, as she had maintained her Magical Girl state for so long.
She had remained in her Magical Girl form for nearly two decades.
Even Ye Liuyun, her son, had never seen her as anything but a Magical Girl.
Since his birth, his mother had always been youthful, appearing as an elegant and noble young woman.
This was Magical Girl Carnelian.
Being a Magical Girl had become her very instinct. Ye Liuyun even wondered if his mother still remembered how to transform back into an ordinary human.
He revered his mother. Although Rainbow Jade could now be considered the strongest Magical Girl in Clear Sky City, it was his mother who had made more significant contributions to humanity, confronting the detestable monsters and strange beings.
Even more importantly, his mother had also mentored numerous Magical Girls—Rainbow Jade being one of them.
Such a mother was his pride, his hero. Therefore, he would always honor her teachings, even if it was impossible for a human to defeat a Magical Girl, and even if his mother’s demands on him were so strict.
He believed it was all part of his mother’s painstaking efforts. He was the child of a hero, and naturally, he had to bear the weight of a hero’s child.
His mother was so great. As a consequence of that greatness, he naturally had to be smarter than anyone, stronger than anyone.
He had to be able to warm hearts more than anyone else.
He firmly believed that even if he was just an ordinary person, and even if his achievements could never surpass Carnelian’s, he absolutely could not bring shame upon his mother. He could not allow himself to become his mother’s weakness!
So, he climbed to his feet once again. “Mother! Will you come to the sports festival this time?”
Carnelian’s expression was one of slight surprise. She looked at Rainbow Jade. “Last time the masked figures appeared, I heard they kidnapped a teacher from the school?”
Rainbow Jade nodded. “That’s why I’ll also go to the school’s sports festival this time. I have a feeling there’s an inseparable connection between those Magical Girls and the masked figures. And, that ‘thing’ is there too.”
“So that’s it. It’s not entirely unexpected, after all. The stronger the negative energy on him becomes, the more it attracts positive energy. This is the balance of the world—perhaps this was a good choice. The decision made back then was correct.”
Rainbow Jade shook her head. “Everything has its pros and cons. I should be able to suppress him now, but if his power continues to absorb and gather, even I might not be his match. At that point, it will be very difficult to handle. We cannot hope that he will be able to control himself.”
Ye Liuyun was somewhat confused by what his mother and Rainbow Jade were discussing, but regardless, he now knew his mother’s answer.
“I will go!”
Just as he had anticipated, Carnelian gave that answer. “There are some things I need to verify.”
“Alright!”

Ink Crystal and Lin Han attempted a “spar” in the basement.
Mainly, Miss Ink Crystal wanted to see just how high Lin Han’s stats were, so they engaged in a small “bout.”
Now, Ink Crystal was lying on the ground, questioning life itself.
“Teacher Lin, are you truly human?”
“If I had to say, I suppose I’m a strange being.”
“That said, your strength needs improvement,” Lin Han advised earnestly. “If I were a malevolent strange being, you would already be dead.”
‘That’s easy to say…’ Ink Crystal wasn’t trying to deny it; she just felt it was a bit too much of a blow to her confidence.
If she had to describe it, when she arm-wrestled Teacher Lin, she felt as though she wasn’t facing a human, but a towering, unmoving mountain. Nothing she did could make it budge.
When she punched Teacher Lin, her hand made contact with his body, and she felt her bones nearly dislocate. If not for the high physical constitution of a Magical Girl, she would have been finished.
‘You filled in these stats with your feet! Bring out the designer! I’ll kick their ass!’
‘Oh, your damn translation tone! We should let Granny Susan’s knee-high boots from next door kick your butt!’
“Hahaha~”
The two bantered for a bit.
“So, Teacher, while I don’t intend to delve into your past story, what exactly is the nature of the monstrous demon inside you?”
“I don’t know.”
Lin Han spread his hands candidly. “I have no idea about the monstrous demon within me. I was unconscious when I was experimented on. By the time I regained my senses, the organization had already been destroyed by me. Everything was buried in a sea of fire, and I escaped from there.”
His words weren’t entirely a lie, but Ink Crystal knew he was concealing something. However, she wasn’t the type to relentlessly pursue.
Slowly, she got up from the ground. “But Teacher, since you’re so powerful, that’s truly wonderful! If you practice, perhaps my strength can improve in a short amount of time. Even though you often react purely on instinct, perhaps it is precisely because of that that I can gain some understanding.”
“It’s great if it helps you. Did you record it?”
Ink Crystal nodded. “I recorded it.”
“Then we can establish a character model and perform a force analysis. Let’s see what the more scientific research direction is.”
Ink Crystal smiled. “Exactly! Although my computer is usually just for gaming, its configuration can handle it! Let’s run the data. It’s a pity you destroyed your former employer’s experiments, Teacher, otherwise, if we could get some data, it might even be useful.”
“That’s just how it is.”
The two continued their special training and research through the night.

For Liu Xingyue, recent events had been far from peaceful.
She had a boyfriend, her homeroom teacher was another Magical Girl, and her physics teacher was actually Kamen Rider.
She simply felt the world had gone mad.
If someone told her there was yet another Magical Girl in her class, she wouldn’t be surprised. Perhaps some of her good friends, or even her besties, were also Magical Girls.
Was a harem plot going to unfold around He Yao, the rich young master?
For now, however, it seemed the problem wasn’t too big.
He Yao’s only friends were Teacher Lin…
But between herself and Teacher Lin…
‘No, I can’t think like that, Emerald! Pull yourself together!’
‘Everything that happened before was a misunderstanding. I should have a clear conscience. He Yao is a very good person; I cannot hurt him like this!’
She looked into the mirror, giving herself a pep talk.
She resolved that today, at the sports festival, in the combat events, she would defeat everyone.
On the first day of the sports festival, the most eye-catching event was individual combat.
Or rather, on the first day of the sports festival, this was the *only* event!
The moment Liu Xingyue stepped into the school, she looked towards the entrance of the teaching building.
Standing there was “the absolutely perfect high school student, Ye Liuyun”!
Just by standing, the aura of power emanated from both of them.
Students all around quickly retreated.
“I won’t lose!”
“Bring your boyfriend!”
“?”
Liu Xingyue first froze, then grew angry, and finally laughed in exasperation.
“What? You want me to bring my boyfriend? Are you insane? Do you think He Yao can beat me?”
Ye Liuyun said very seriously, “I’m serious, Liu Xingyue. I know you’re an experienced fighter, but if we’re talking about defeating me in this school, aside from Teacher Lin, only He Yao has a chance. Because combat requires brains.”
“Arrogant! You will definitely lose to me, I tell you!”
Ye Liuyun shook his head. “Defeat everyone else first! You won’t be able to defeat me.”
He seemed to have no interest in anyone other than He Yao.
Liu Xingyue was half-believing, half-doubting. She wasn’t entirely sure of Ye Liuyun’s reason for saying this. While she admitted He Yao was very smart, and might even score better than her on exams if he applied himself, was Ye Liuyun perhaps too focused on He Yao?
