Join the Server“Mother?” The fierce ghost’s dark, brooding peach-blossom eyes seemed to harbor a trace of a smile as he murmured the title once more in a low, reverent whisper. Tilting his head downward to lock onto Tan Xueci’s face, he couldn’t resist leaning closer to press a series of soft, lingering kisses against his lips.
Tan Xueci: “……”
Tan Xueci’s mind instantly erupted into a frantic buzzing sound, the tips of his pale ears flushing a violent crimson to the point where they practically bled. His lips trembled uncontrollably as he stared at He Xunye in absolute disbelief, entirely unable to comprehend that such an utterly preposterous scenario was unfolding. His face thoroughly flushed, he hissed in a low, furious whisper, “Who on earth is your mother?!”
“The specific title isn’t of paramount importance,” the fierce ghost before him remarked with an air of profound magnanimity, despite being dressed in an exceptionally solemn, well-tailored business suit that nonetheless managed to project an inexplicably lazy and thoroughly punchable demeanor. “Father works equally well.”
Tan Xueci: “……”
He Xunye leaned slightly closer to his form, the crimson corners of his lips—which were consistently heavily saturated with a dense layer of yin energy—curving upward in a dark smile. The fierce ghost’s voice was exceptionally deep and weighted, carrying a subtle, magnetic hook, yet his tone remained thoroughly wicked as he murmured against him, “Father?”
Tan Xueci’s snow-white cheeks flushed completely red, his hands clenching into tight, rigid fists at his sides. He felt a sudden, profound surge of murderous intent wash over him, marking the absolute first time in his life he harbored such an intense desire to beat an entity to death.
The most infuriating aspect of the situation was that this individual was already dead—merely a lifeless corpse—rendering it entirely impossible to beat him to death even if he wished to do so.
Good heavens, how can there exist a ghost this thoroughly shameless?
“It is currently still far too small,” the fierce ghost remarked, acting completely oblivious to his wife’s escalating fury as he extended his massive hand to offer a soft, sweeping caress over his lower abdomen.
He was clearly so thoroughly thrilled that he was on the verge of rising from his grave; yet he nonetheless maintained his pristine, well-tailored human facade, even as threads of pitch-black ghostly energy continuously seeped outward from his form. His voice turned raspy and low as he murmured, “I will track down more pieces for Baby. Baby simply needs to eat a bit more, and your belly will swell up beautifully, making you look even more like a mother. Doesn’t Baby love consuming treats the absolute most?”
Tan Xueci had no idea whether he ought to be consumed by rage or sheer embarrassment. He didn’t suffer from pica, so why on earth was he being expected to consume this brand of creepy, bizarre items?!
He Xunye, by contrast, merely let out a low chuckle. He stood well over 1.9 meters tall, his physique displaying an optimal, robust musculature rather than excessive bulk—the exact brand of a mature, refined male body capable of commanding top billing at a host club. Clad in a perfectly tailored black business suit, his broad shoulders and exceptionally long legs were emphasized to an incredible degree.
The fierce ghost’s complexion was deathly pale, rendering the crimson of his lips increasingly vivid, projecting an intensely gloomy and mesmerizing aesthetic. In his hand, he loosely cradled a long-handled black umbrella, his current smile bearing an uncanny resemblance to a psychopathic killer.
As he continued to caress his wife’s abdomen, the pressure of his hand increased slightly, leaving Tan Xueci entirely unable to lift his head. The tips of his ears peeking out from beneath his messy black hair flushed a brilliant crimson, every single inch of his skin trembling violently.
It truly felt as though his form were being thoroughly defiled by some foul, malicious entity.
“Why refuse it?” He Xunye continued to speak entirely to himself. “Moving forward, whenever Husband isn’t at home, it can serve as a companion to keep you company. Baby ought to give it a try—can you feel yourself controlling its movements?”
The fierce ghost’s eyes were deeply weighted and pitch-black as he gazed down at his wife’s intensely humiliated, wet, and thoroughly flushed eyes. The corners of his lips remained pulled wide as he leaned closer to whisper in a low voice, “Whenever Baby harbors a craving to eat, you can simply feed yourself at your own discretion, isn’t that wonderful? Husband can also assist you in the process.”
Tan Xueci’s mind went entirely blank.
Whether it was the corpse fragment resting deep within his abdomen or the fierce ghost’s heavy hand pinned flat against his belly, both entities maintained an incredibly powerful, undeniable physical presence.
Following the direction of He Xunye’s gaze, he lowered his head to examine the fierce ghost’s hand. The man’s fingers were exceptionally long; whenever he exerted a trace of force, the prominent veins running across the back of his hand would swell into sharp relief, appearing intensely alluring.
Suddenly, He Xunye’s fingers twitched slightly. Tan Xueci instantly bit his flushed lip, his eyelashes trembling violently as the corpse fragment nestled inside his lower abdomen unexpectedly executed a corresponding twitch in perfect synchronization.
This dead spirit can manually control his own corpse.
Previously, even when they engaged in intimate acts, the entity’s physical form never fully penetrated his body, consistently separated by the external boundaries of his skin and flesh. Yet now, all physical barriers had completely vanished; that specific corpse fragment rested within the absolute deepest, most sensitive, and fragile cavity of his form—thoroughly integrated inside him.
Tan Xueci forcefully pushed He Xunye’s hand away. Clutching his own abdomen, his legs felt entirely soft and weighted, the roots of his thighs trembling so violently that he was practically unable to maintain his balance. Terrified that the surrounding individuals might notice his condition, he hastily retreated a few steps to conceal his form beneath the deep shadows of the tree canopy.
Fortunately, it was currently the dead of night, and they had yet to enter the bustling core of the city center, remaining positioned along the dark outskirts of the suburbs. The dense nocturnal shadows were more than sufficient to obscure his trembling legs and the chaotic expressions flitting across his face.
“He Xunye,” Tan Xueci lifted his watery, mist-filled eyes, only to discover that the dead spirit was still actively smiling back at him. His lips trembling, he hissed in a low, gnashing whisper, “I am truly going to be furious.”
He harbored a powerful urge to retrieve a talisman to blast this dead spirit out of existence; it truly seemed a husband was an entity best left dead and buried far away from home.
“Why?” The fierce ghost’s eyes were deeply dark and hollow, projecting an expression that appeared intensely wounded as he gazed at his wife and inquired, “Didn’t Little Xue just declare that you wanted me to serve as your Xiao Qian? Why are you suddenly unable to accept me?”
Tan Xueci: “……”
Tan Xueci truly possessed a powerful urge to unleash a torrent of curses. What kind of Xiao Qian is this thoroughly seductive and shameless? You resemble the Black Mountain Demon far more!
Who on earth would willingly consume their dead spirit husband’s corpse into their own stomach? Furthermore, Tan Xueci could clearly sense that although the slick piece of white meat had initially dropped straight into his stomach, it had continuously migrated downward since then.
Ultimately, it had selected his lower abdomen to serve as its warm, cozy nest, extending a complex network of dense blood vessels to fuse seamlessly alongside his own flesh.
If he truly possessed a human constitution, the constant accumulation of He Xunye’s corpse fragments inside his form would genuinely mirror a pregnancy, causing his belly to swell larger and larger as time progressed.
Having concluded his frantic behavior, the fierce ghost’s pitch-black eyes drooped completely, the emotions swirling within his gaze turning intensely tender.
Yet he remained entirely oblivious to his own terrifying aura, his hand maintaining its position over the youth’s abdomen, causing Tan Xueci’s heart to skip a frantic beat in sheer terror. He felt as though He Xunye might manually stuff another piece inside his belly at any given moment.
Fortunately, He Xunye refrained from doing so.
The fierce ghost’s fingertip gently tapped against his wife’s abdomen, his expression radiating an air of absolute satisfaction. A foul, mortal child held absolutely no right to manifest within his wife’s belly; his precious wife deserved only the absolute best.
Furthermore, his wife loved him immensely; the mere thought of his wife’s soft hands gently and tenderly brushing over his abdomen caused a faint, blood-red glint to seep outward from his dark, brooding eyes.
Tan Xueci felt as though he were on the verge of fainting from sheer sensory overload. What was far more terrifying was that he could clearly sense that one of the fingers on He Xunye’s hand resting over his belly was gradually beginning to gather a physical, warm temperature. The Little Lamb’s eyes instantly widened into perfect circles as he stared at He Xunye in utter horror.
“I told you,” the fierce ghost appeared to find his reaction intensely endearing, leaning closer to press a soft kiss against his lips, his mouth rubbing against his flushed lip meat as he murmured indistinctly, “Little Xue’s body is incredibly warm inside.”
A fragment of his physical form had successfully parasitized his wife’s abdomen, effectively coming back to life; yet it remained merely a parasitic entity.
Much like an underdeveloped infant remaining alive while nestled within its mother’s womb, the moment it was extracted via a cesarean section, it would instantly perish.
“It is a pity Baby’s belly is so exceptionally slight,” the fierce ghost’s dark crimson eyes flashed with an escalating surge of amusement, yet his tone remained intensely bone-chilling. “It can handle a pair of hands at most; otherwise, I truly would be capable of fully returning to life.”
However, even if his entire, intact corpse were to thoroughly parasitize his wife’s abdomen, he would nonetheless remain entirely dependent on his wife’s life force to survive.
They would require a profound blood-bond, needing at least a single major blood vessel or a physical umbilical cord to remain permanently fused together. He would be entirely unable to venture too far from Tan Xueci’s side; otherwise, the moment he emerged, his lifespan would be drastically cut short.
Furthermore, exactly what entry point would he utilize to emerge? Every single cavity across his baby’s form was so exceptionally slight and delicate; he would be thoroughly torn apart in the process, a prospect that would bring him immense heartache.
As the fierce ghost continued to lose himself in his dark ruminations, he suddenly tilted his head, casting a sweeping gaze toward his own lower half. A vibrant, blood-red glint swirled within the depths of his eyes, as if he had just stumbled upon some magnificent prize, eagerly presenting it to his wife to claim credit: “Or perhaps Baby desires this piece instead? My torso currently rests within the main He estate, but I can manually sever this specific part to present to you. Once Baby consumes it, it will also gather a beautiful warmth.”
Tan Xueci: “……”
Stop, stop, stop right there.
“Hasn’t Baby consistently complained that it feels far too cold?” The fierce ghost was clearly entirely serious, using his hands to tenderly cup his wife’s small face as he leaned closer to press a soft kiss against the tip of his nose. His deep eye sockets were thoroughly shrouded within the darkness of the night, projecting an aura that was intensely sinister and bizarre as he murmured, “If we proceed in this fashion, Baby can even hold onto it during the night to warm your hands, isn’t that wonderful? Baby may utilize it in absolutely any manner you see fit.”
The fierce ghost’s deep, intense black eyes perfectly mirrored his reflection, staring at him with absolute focus as he delivered a binding vow: “I am entirely yours.”
While the confession sounded intensely deep and romantic on the surface, Tan Xueci didn’t experience the slightest trace of emotional warmth. His entire face was thoroughly flushed, his form trembling violently from a volatile mixture of shame and fury. Who on earth would willingly swallow that specific object to store inside their stomach?!
What kind of twisted magic is he performing?!
Is he an absolute lunatic?!
“Doesn’t Baby love Husband the absolute most?” The fierce ghost appeared completely perplexed by his aversion, his tone carrying a lazy, thoroughly unprincipled quality as he remarked in genuine surprise, “Why are you directing that brand of gaze toward Husband?”
Tan Xueci directed a sweet, radiant smile toward him, his tone turning exceptionally gentle as if he were thoroughly consumed by an unyielding, profound love for the entity. Then, channeling every ounce of his genuine, raw emotion, he spat: “Husband, why don’t you just drop dead.”
He harbored a powerful urge to drag He Xunye down with him in mutual destruction, yet he simultaneously feared the dead spirit might misinterpret the act as a romantic gesture born of a desire to commit martyrdom alongside him—this dead spirit was truly entirely invincible.
Sensing his reaction, He Xunye wrapped his arms tightly around his wife’s frame, finally unable to restrain a low chuckle. The man’s broad shoulders trembled from the amusement. Thoroughly mortified, Tan Xueci delivered several fierce punches against his chest, yet his efforts did absolutely nothing to quell the ghost’s laughter.
Meanwhile, He Sui—whose leg had been thoroughly shattered by the cloth doll—was currently slumped flat against the ground, his face deathly pale as his hands trembled violently while attempting to dispatch a distress message to his family estate.
The ghost driver remained locked around Lu Xi’s leg, continuously weeping and lamenting the loss of his brain matter. Lu Xi had initially been terrified to the point of absolute paralysis, but as the relentless weeping continued, he ultimately grew thoroughly annoyed. Brandishing the motorcycle helmet with an aggressive snarl, he shoved it forward and snapped, “Take it, take it, take it! It’s all back inside, okay?!”
The interior of the helmet was completely coated in the messy mixture of brain matter that had spurted outward during the high-speed drive, appearing intensely turbid and nauseating. The ghost driver let out a pathetic wail, weeping far louder than before as he engaged in a frantic scuffle alongside Lu Xi.
It was only when the fierce ghost suddenly let out a resonant chuckle that every single entity present instantly let out a violent shiver, completely freezing in place. Not daring to utter a single sound or cause the slightest disturbance, they all turned their heads in absolute terror, directing a gaze reserved for an absolute madman straight toward He Xunye.
The amusement remained thoroughly anchored within the depths of He Xunye’s dark eyes. As he cast a cold, sweeping glance toward the group, everyone immediately averted their gazes in sheer terror, not daring to look a second longer. Regardless of whether he was a ghost or a literal psychopath, he was an entity none of them could afford to provoke.
“I simply feel an immense reluctance to ever be separated from you,” He Xunye remarked, turning his gaze fully back onto Tan Xueci. He lowered his tall frame into a deep squat, the pristine leather of his black dress shoes creasing sharply against the ground as he leaned his head flat against his wife’s small belly—appearing as though he were actively listening for a fetal movement within.
Tan Xueci bit his lip, a violent wave of mortification coloring his face crimson as he instinctively attempted to take a step backward. The sheer height dynamic of their current positions was far too bizarre; he was terrified He Xunye might suddenly lose his mind and lean closer to indulge in an impromptu buffet.
And end up thoroughly enjoying the feast.
He could clearly tell this dead spirit was genuinely starved, having likely remained an absolute virgin for nearly thirty years to the point of being driven to pure madness.
Yet He Xunye extended his hand, his massive palm pressing firmly against the youth’s lower back to completely bar his retreat. Pressing a soft kiss against his belly, he lifted his eyes to gaze up at him from below, the corners of his lips curving wide as he murmured in an intensely raspy voice, “Does Baby know? If you ever separate from me and choose to engage in intimate acts alongside another individual, I will feel it instantly.”
That specific piece of flesh held absolutely no structural difference from any of the internal organs nestled within Tan Xueci’s abdomen. The moment it was subjected to any external thrusting or pressure, he would experience the sensation directly, and Tan Xueci would similarly experience it—fully aware of exactly what specific location was being forcefully compressed.
Even if he and Tan Xueci were to divorce, or even if he were to perish to the point of being utterly obliterated, that specific piece of flesh held no independent consciousness, yet it would nonetheless remain fully alive.
Unless Tan Xueci managed to track down a partner so exceptionally slight that they possessed absolutely zero presence, entirely unable to ever make physical contact with a depth as shallow as his lower abdomen. Yet his precious baby consistently seemed to harbor a preference for selecting the absolute largest options available, a trait he found intensely endearing.
Coiling his arms securely around his wife’s waist, He Xunye buried his entire face against the youth’s abdomen with absolute devotion, the high bridge of his nose pressing firmly into the fabric to nudge against his wife’s soft navel.
When the time came, he would effectively become a permanent extension of Little Lamb’s physical form, never to depart from his side. Throughout every single subsequent marriage Tan Xueci might enter moving forward, he would linger like a permanent shadow destined to manifest the moment night fell—inseparable and unyielding.
Of course, he harbored absolutely zero intention of forcing Tan Xueci to maintain lifelong celibacy for his sake; he simply felt an immense reluctance to ever leave him behind.
Tan Xueci had no idea why the conversation had veered back to this specific topic. He originally intended to assert that he had absolutely no intention of seeking a divorce; yet as he pursed his lips, he felt a slight pang of guilt, acknowledging that he had indeed harbored a fleeting thought just moments ago wondering if he ought to simply call it quits. How on earth is a person meant to survive this brand of daily existence?!
Yet as He Xunye remained leaned against his lower abdomen, the fierce ghost’s long, dense eyelashes drooped completely, entirely lost in his own silent calculations.
He Xunye consistently carried an aura of deep, weighted contemplation, possessing absolutely zero habit of ever unburdening his mind to another soul. Whenever he felt displeased, he could openly weep and wail to his heart’s content, knowing his husband would step forward to coax him; yet He Xunye was entirely incapable of weeping in such a fashion, the tenderness swirling within his dark eyes consistently carrying a heavy, suffocating weight.
The realization caused Tan Xueci’s heart to ache with an uncontainable surge of sympathy once more, viewing He Xunye as an immensely pitiful, solitary spirit.
Lowering his head, he locked eyes with the fierce ghost’s pale, strikingly handsome face. Those dark eyes stared back at him, completely devoid of the wicked, unprincipled quality from just moments ago.
Tan Xueci felt He Xunye might simply be silently pleading with him: Can Little Lamb please love me for a little while longer?
“……No divorce,” Tan Xueci murmured as his heart thoroughly softened. Extending his hand to gently pat the male ghost’s head, he swept the entity into a warm embrace, blinking his eyes as he promised, “We are going to remain together for a lifetime.”
His elder brother had explicitly instructed him previously that a person was only permitted to wed a single spouse, and entering into bigamy was a severe legal transgression. Furthermore, once a marriage was established, it became an absolute responsibility—a concept that carried immense weight, requiring an entire lifetime to prove.
To say nothing of the fact that He Xunye was a dead spirit; even if He Xunye were to thoroughly perish to the point of absolute non-existence, he would never allow himself to fall in love alongside any other individual.
After all, he was merely an exceptionally slight Little Lamb, possessing a very small capacity of mind and a rather simple intellect; he was entirely incapable of shoulder such a vast accumulation of responsibilities.
“Baby,” He Xunye offered a soft smile before burying his face deeper into his embrace, the sharp bridge of his nose nuzzling back and forth across his abdomen. His voice was exceptionally raspy and muffled to an incredible degree as he refrained from uttering another word, simply holding him tight while calling out to him in a continuous, muffled chain, “Baby.”
“Get up this instant,” Tan Xueci hissed with a flushed face, delivering a low scolding.
The man was practically kneeling flat against the concrete; exactly what kind of image would this present if a passerby caught sight of them? They would assume he harbored some highly specific, eccentric kink.
When the time came, if He Xunye were to be slandered by the public as an entity who harbored a fondness for watching others don maid outfits, while he was slandered as an individual who took pleasure in forcing others to kneel before him, exactly what would become of their household’s public reputation?!
He Xunye obediently rose to his feet, yet he nonetheless remained entirely incapable of independent locomotion, coiling his arms around him once more to hang heavily over the youth’s shoulders.
Tan Xueci glared at him, whispering in a sharp tone, “Hurry up and extract this object from my form.”
This issue held absolutely zero connection to whether love existed between them or not; regardless of how deeply one loved their partner, a person simply shouldn’t store a corpse fragment inside their stomach—the act was intensely sinister to an extreme degree.
“That is impossible, Baby,” He Xunye remarked with a serene smile, resting his chin flat against the youth’s shoulder. “It has already fused completely with your flesh and blood; if we were to forcefully tear it out, your internal organs would be dragged out right alongside it.”
Tan Xueci’s small face turned deathly pale.
“Furthermore, it is already far too late,” He Xunye paused, displaying a rare trace of vulnerability as if terrified his wife might erupt in fury. He leaned closer to nuzzle against his shoulder several times before confessing, “You have actually consumed it once before. Back when we were at Yanxia Village, I covertly harvested a tiny fragment to feed to Baby.”
The bodily fluids of a ghost carried an exceptionally potent accumulation of yin energy—to say nothing of the fact that he was a supreme malevolent entity rather than a common spirit. Given that it was Tan Xueci’s absolute first experience, he genuinely would have perished from the sheer intensity; thus, he had manually extracted a tiny portion from He Sui’s possession.
Although the yang energy anchored within his own corpse had waned to a nearly imperceptible degree, it nonetheless remained vastly more potent compared to an ordinary mortal’s. He had transitioned into a ghost by now, meaning any direct physical contact alongside his own corpse would inflict severe burns; consequently, he had refrained from reclaiming the entire finger at the time.
“……” Tan Xueci felt as though he had processed the explanation, yet simultaneously felt as though he had comprehended absolutely nothing at all. His mind had completely locked up, forced to acknowledge the harsh reality that he had genuinely managed to entangle himself alongside an absolute lunatic.
The slick, smooth sensation of that specific piece of meat sliding through his esophagus seemed to linger within his throat, triggering a continuous, rolling wave of nausea. His small face was thoroughly pale, yet he forcefully clamped his hand over his mouth, not daring to let himself retch—terrified He Xunye might lock eyes with him and inquire if his mother was currently experiencing morning sickness.
Left with absolutely no other recourse, and noting that Lu Xi had been covertly peeking toward their direction from a distance for a significant duration, Tan Xueci could only push the dead spirit away. He hastily hailed a nearby taxi, resolving to head toward the Xiao estate first to assess the situation.
Fortunately, as long as he refrained from actively focusing his thoughts on the matter, he was largely unable to sense the physical presence of that specific piece of meat. It was only when the realization flashed across his mind that the flesh seemed to mirror his excitement, adhering flat against the soft, wet lining of his abdominal cavity to offer a gentle, affectionate rub.
As Tan Xueci continued to stroke his belly, he unexpectedly found the sensation slightly endearing.
It’s all over. I have genuinely transformed into an absolute psychopath, haven’t I?!
The Xiao Estate
It was currently past one in the morning. Father and Mother Xiao had originally been fussing over Lan Ke with immense warmth and concern, Mother Xiao even clutching Lan Ke’s hand as she lamented with deep heartache over how significantly he had leaned down. Yet in the dead of night, as they locked eyes with Lan Ke’s face, both individuals suddenly experienced a profound wave of disorientation, their gazes turning sharply terrified.
Mother Xiao forcefully recoiled, instantly releasing Lan Ke’s hand, while Father Xiao scrambled to his feet on the spot. Pointing a trembling finger toward Lan Ke, he roared in a volatile mixture of shock and fury, “Who on earth are you?! How did you manage to infiltrate my residence?!”
It was truly an absolute anomaly. Logically speaking, they shouldn’t possess the slightest acquaintance alongside Lan Ke; yet for some inexplicable reason, the moment their eyes landed on his form, an intense surge of affection had instinctively washed over them—as if they were gazing down at their own biological child. Their minds thoroughly muddled, they had manually escorted Lan Ke back into their home.
Yet looking at him now, was he not a complete and utter stranger?
Lan Ke froze for a fraction of a second before rising to his feet with absolute poise and decorum. He displayed absolutely zero trace of panic, a perfectly refined, appropriate smile playing across his pale, slender features as he remarked, “Father, Mother, I am Lan Ke—Xiao An’s boyfriend. Do you truly harbor no recollection of me?”
As expected, the ritual had failed. However, given the monumental scale of executing a life-swap, he had inherently prepared himself for the possibility of failure from the very outset; if the life-swap succeeded, he would reap an immense, unimaginable fortune, and if it failed, it wouldn’t inflict any severe repercussions against him.
Had the life-swap truly reached absolute fruition, Father and Mother Xiao would have thoroughly perceived him as Xiao An moving forward; even in the eyes of the public, his physical appearance would perfectly mirror Xiao An’s form.
A cold glint swirled within Lan Ke’s eyes as he let out a silent sneer within his heart. As expected, I simply do not possess the destiny required to live as a wealthy young master.
Mother Xiao retreated to stand securely behind her husband, both individuals maintaining their deep frowns as they stared intently at Lan Ke, their expressions projecting an aura of profound, unmitigated terror.
“I am deeply sorry,” Lan Ke murmured, lowering his head to project an expression that appeared slightly intimidated. His lips were thoroughly pale as if he had been severely startled, offering a timorous, apologetic whisper, “Have I inadvertently disrupted Father and Mother? Yet just moments ago, you both appeared to harbor an immense fondness for my presence, leaving me to assume……”
Father and Mother Xiao were by no means individuals who possessed a gentle temperament; they were historically fiercely decisive, wielding an iron fist throughout the corporate business landscape.
His face thoroughly dark and ominous, Father Xiao harbored absolutely zero interest in deciphering exactly why Lan Ke had inexplicably materialized inside his private residence. Engaging in a fleeting fling behind closed doors was one thing, but he would absolutely never permit any man to openly proclaim themselves as his son’s boyfriend, stepping foot into the prestigious Xiao estate with such unmitigated audacity.
“Get out!” Father Xiao roared in a freezing tone. “Regardless of who you are, clear out of my sight this instant! Do not ever allow me to catch a glimpse of your face again!”
Lan Ke was left with no other choice but to execute a hasty, deep bow before rushing toward the exit with a thoroughly pale face. The moment his back was turned to them, a dense layer of dark clouds swirled within the depths of his eyes, his jaw clenching so violently that his features appeared intensely twisted and monstrous.
These individuals who bore the surname Xiao had historically never treated him like a human being; Father and Mother Xiao were cut from the exact same cloth as Xiao An—they were all absolute scum.
Regardless, Xiao An ought to be thoroughly dead by now. Lan Ke pressed his hand against the pair of talismans nestled inside his pants pocket; the talisman assigned to He Sui remained perfectly intact, but the one assigned to Xiao An had already dissolved into a pile of ash. The revelation indicated that the body-double substitution had failed to reach fruition, and Xiao An had thoroughly transitioned from a walking corpse into a literal dead man.
A trace of absolute satisfaction born of a successful vengeance finally crept across Lan Ke’s gloomy features. Yet just as he extended his hand to pull open the main door of the Xiao residence, lifting his head to step outside, his breath was violently cut short on the spot.
Xiao An stood dead in his tracks right outside the threshold, his head drooped low.
Tonight’s night sky was exceptionally dark and heavy, resembling a thick coat of poured ink, completely devoid of the slightest trace of moonlight.
Xiao An’s grey-green face appeared intensely sinister and horrifying amidst the darkness. One of his blood-red eyeballs had completely dislodged from its socket, hanging loosely by a thin, fleshy strand of tissue. His teeth had turned thoroughly black, heavily saturated in a dark crimson coat of blood. The corners of his mouth were torn wide open, splitting straight back to the roots of his ears as he directed a grim smile toward Lan Ke, lunging forward to tear into his flesh without the slightest warning.
