Join the ServerTan Xueci kept fussing until after midnight, finally tiring herself out. In her current body, she was just a little lamb, no different from a baby, so sleepy that she kept leaning into He Xunye’s arms.
He Xunye finally let the others go back to sleep, then carried the little lamb to bathe.
He found a small basin, put the lamb in, added some bubbles, scrubbed her legs, scrubbed her hooves, and then rubbed her belly. After washing, he dried her off completely and blow-dried her until she smelled fragrant. The lamb’s fur became fluffy and soft.
The demon lowered his head, burying his straight nose into the lamb’s soft belly, letting out a satisfied sigh.
The little lamb kicked her hooves a few times in her sleep, feeling like she was being entangled by a male ghost who kept rubbing her belly as if he wanted to devour her.
The demon buried his face in the lamb’s belly for a while, then lowered his eyes, parting the lamb’s fluff to look at the little thing hidden underneath. His dark eyes dimmed.
But even for a ghost, lifting up a little lamb was too perverted. The demon curled his red lips, just staring with interest for a few minutes before carrying the lamb to bed.
“The baby is so cute,” the demon couldn’t help it, lowering his head again to nuzzle the lamb’s neck, murmuring softly, “How can everything be so cute…”
The little lamb slept soundly, unaware of anything, burying her fluffy black head into the male ghost’s chest, smacking her lips a few times, and falling back asleep.
The little lamb was all black—fur, hooves, even her nose and mouth, except for a tiny bit of white on the tips of her ears—but her tongue was still very red.
Before, even if Tan Xueci was asleep, the dead ghost would definitely pinch her mouth open and say, “Baby, why is your tongue so red? Want your husband to kiss it?” Then, without waiting for a reaction, he’d eagerly kiss her.
But eating a little lamb’s tongue was a bit too perverted.
The demon lay next to the little lamb, his dark peach-blossom eyes gloomy. Though unwilling, he had good self-control, and finally refrained from eating the lamb’s mouth.
Actually, Tan Xueci could now turn into a human, but in essence, she was still a ghost. Any monk or Taoist would spot the ghostly aura on her, and she couldn’t maintain the form for long.
She would uncontrollably reveal a few small black tentacles.
Only by obtaining a part of a human body could she truly become human, just like before; except for Xie Yun, no one would be able to tell.
Even He Xunye, Yu He, and the others wouldn’t tell; at most, they thought she had heavy yin energy and wasn’t quite right.
Of course, a complete body would be even better, even if it was a corpse.
Before sleeping, Tan Xueci was still thinking about how she had lost her previous body and how to find a new one. But when she opened her eyes the next day, she found He Xunye’s pale corpse lying beside her, chilling to the extreme.
Tan Xueci: “…”
The dead ghost He Xunye hadn’t slept all night. His peach-blossom eyes curved as he stared straight at his wife and his own corpse in the dark bedroom, watching all night long.
Seeing Tan Xueci wake up, his red lips lifted, and he recommended, “Baby, you can use this one.”
The demon’s eyes flushed with excitement again. Now he could truly merge with Tan Xueci, his body carrying Tan Xueci’s soul—you in me, me in you.
In this world, no couple would ever be as closely united as them.
The little black lamb stood up, pawing at the blanket. Her lamb eyes stared at the corpse before her, hesitating, then said slowly, “No thanks, I have your heart, that’s enough.”
When she saved people in the abyss, she had used up all the yang energy from He Xunye’s heart and blood. But she didn’t need yang energy to become human, so she could completely mold a body from He Xunye’s heart.
She just always felt that He Xunye had given it to her, and was a bit reluctant to use it, so she never considered it.
“Why?” the demon’s voice was plaintive, clinging to her like a lingering male ghost. “Does the baby dislike me?”
Tan Xueci: “…”
Tan Xueci held back, not wanting to say that if she used He Xunye’s complete corpse, even if she molded it back to her own face, it would still be He Xunye’s body.
What difference would it make from He Xunye f*cking his own ass?!
When He Xunye licked her, wasn’t it just licking himself?
Just thinking about it made the little lamb’s ears start to redden. It was so perverted that she wanted to kick He Xunye with her hoof.
No way, no way, she absolutely didn’t want that.
She’d rather mold one herself.
But He Xunye kept pestering her, so Tan Xueci had to use her little lamb hoof to push him away, explaining patiently. After hearing it, the dead ghost laughed endlessly.
Tan Xueci’s lamb eyes were gloomy, clearly angry, but the dead ghost was still laughing, even reaching out to touch the thing that Tan Xueci disliked.
Ahhh!!!
Tan Xueci couldn’t stand He Xunye playing with that thing. The little lamb lowered her head, forcefully butting He Xunye’s hand, glaring fiercely, “You can’t touch it! From now on, only I can touch it!”
But he was very happy, full of possessiveness. The baby must love him a lot.
“Since that’s the case,” the demon raised his eyes, dark and deep, curving his lips, “then from now on, I’ll take care of it, little Xue.”
Tan Xueci: “…”
Who wants to see that dirty thing every day.
The little lamb huffily tried to leave, but the demon grabbed her hoof and pulled it back. The demon’s peach-blossom eyes looked at her, his posture lazy but his tone serious, “Otherwise, it’ll get depressed.”
Tan Xueci: “…”
The world’s first depressed d*ck.
Tan Xueci didn’t want to discuss dicks anymore. She glared at He Xunye, then put away He Xunye’s corpse.
Molding a perfect body would take a long time; for now, she’d have to stay a lamb.
Tan Xueci was chased by He Xunye to get her ass pinched, and she ran off to find Lu Qi with a small scream.
During dinner last night, Jiang Caiwei had posted a photo of the little lamb on the fan forum. Fans knew Tan Xueci was back, and those she had saved were very concerned about her.
So Tan Xueci decided to do a simple live stream.
Lu Qi had already adjusted the camera for her, and the little black lamb appeared in front of the lens.
[Wuwuwu, it’s our Xiao Xue.]
[A year has passed already. Time flies so fast; it feels like a dream.]
[Hey, I won’t tell you that I was hiding in Qilian Temple before, with my intestines pulled out several meters by a ghost. I thought I was definitely going to die, but the little lamb protected me under its belly. I absolutely won’t tell you how soft the lamb’s belly fur is, like a little mom. Shy.jpg]
[??? Okay, okay, you won’t tell us, right? Wait, I’ll find someone to deal with you now.]
[LOL, suddenly remembering the baby is so black, yet named Xiao Xue. Merit -1]
Everyone wanted to know what happened in the abyss. Those rescued by Tan Xueci had their families pick them up last night, but they hadn’t recovered yet, so no one had posted online.
The little lamb raised her head, cleared her throat, then bleated a few times.
The comments were full of blind praise.
[Baby, you’re so energetic, you bleat so well, clearly a very powerful little lamb.]
Actually, Tan Xueci’s fans had always been indulgent, because Tan Xueci always seemed like a wronged child.
Now that they knew she was a lamb, they were even more tolerant. Even her haters stopped focusing on her education.
Not just because Tan Xueci saved many people.
It’s scary when a person is uneducated, but if a little lamb can write its own name, that’s already good enough for college!
“Baa baa baa,” the little lamb proudly lifted her head, “V me 50, and I’ll tell you my revenge plan.”
Tan Xueci started off serious, but as she talked, she couldn’t help bragging, saying how she fought swarms of ghosts in the abyss, how mighty she was, how thrilling every day was.
Many fans cried.
Only the few hundred people rescued by the little lamb from the abyss looked at the lamb’s twitching ears, hesitating to speak.
Although they hadn’t rested well, most of them still came to watch when they heard Tan Xueci was live. The stream’s popularity was through the roof, with hundreds of thousands of viewers.
Actually, after falling, Tan Xueci had used He Xunye’s blood to shield them, then tossed them aside.
The little lamb sat down with a plop, let out a loud ‘wuwer’ cry, scaring them into looking around.
At first, they were terrified, not knowing they had fallen into the abyss. They only saw darkness around, no water but a strong fishy smell, and black rocks burning with fire; they thought they were dead and descending into hell.
But they’d never heard of the hellhound being a beagle.
After a moment of tension, they realized it was Tan Xueci crying.
Everyone: “…”
The little lamb lifted her head, tears streaming down, crying so hard she almost fainted.
Without her husband, she had lost everything.
What was she going to do?
The people around were stunned, even forgetting to be afraid. After listening for a while, they silently covered their ears.
And at first, Tan Xueci found it embarrassing, hiding those few sexy photos under her hooves. But later, she carried them around every day, lying down with her little face pressed against them to sleep.
A true little wife.
But no one called her out. Everyone was giving the little lamb gifts, wanting to hear more.
Tan Xueci talked until her mouth was dry, tired and sleepy, like a fluffy black lamb toy that could only last two or three hours before starting to wobble like it had lost its batteries.
Until a large hand appeared behind her, catching her.
The demon hugged the little lamb, sitting down in the chair. He supported the lamb’s head, letting it lean on his shoulder, then cast a cold, dark look at the stream.
Tan Xueci lay on He Xunye’s shoulder, her little black ears drooping softly, rubbing against the demon’s shoulder.
[Dead ghost, lucky you.]
[Stop, stop, who allowed you to put your hand on the lamb’s butt??? Unless you let me do it too. (Not really)]
[I’ll nibble on the lamb’s butt.]
[Say whatever online, but in reality, who doesn’t want to hold a little lamb and drink its milk? Collapsed.jpg]
[Babe, I’m also a little lamb, can you give me some grass?]
The demon frowned, expressionlessly reporting each of those comments one by one. Then, amid a wave of screams, he lowered his head, rubbed against the lamb’s belly, curved his lips, cast a cold, eerie glance at the stream, and left with the sleeping lamb.
The comments immediately turned into a torrent of insults against him.
[No way, who is he provoking? Why do I want to hit him so much? Who agrees, who opposes?]
[So you’re the one who got to drink the lamb’s milk.]
[The little lamb has more than two nipples, right? Wuwuwu, I don’t care, I want to suckle too, or I’ll throw a tantrum.]
The demon scowled, hiding the little lamb in his coat as he left. No way, how could he let others see the lamb’s nipples.
Tan Xueci was still sleeping soundly, not knowing what was happening.
New Year was coming. Schools were already on winter break, but He Xunye was busier than ever.
Xie Yun apparently didn’t want to be investigated, so he erased the entire dynasty. After Xie Yun’s death, Yanxia Village was fully excavated, and many artifacts finally surfaced.
That dynasty was called the Great Yan Dynasty, and Xie Yun was a famous general of Yan.
Besides the capital, a large number of cultural relics and ancient texts were unearthed in other regions, along with the customs and folklore of that dynasty.
He Xunye was a professor of folklore, so his department suddenly got busy, requiring frequent trips to the university.
He Xunye’s students were very happy, especially those just starting their thesis topics. They could use primary sources, so publishing would be easy.
Tan Xueci sometimes went to the university with He Xunye, sometimes stayed home and played. There were plenty of people to keep him company.
She especially loved when He Xunye wore a suit and a black cashmere coat, looking cold and restrained, going to teach. And when, before leaving, He Xunye would use his large hand to cup her head and lean down to kiss her, she was utterly captivated.
Husband was so handsome, making her dizzy.
Of course, if he didn’t pinch her butt while kissing, he’d look more restrained.
Tan Xueci occasionally thought about Xie Yun.
Xie Yun had come to the mortal world, staying here with her for over twenty years. She wondered what Xie Yun had been thinking all that time.
She remembered Xie Yun once held her to sleep, and when she was half-asleep, she seemed to have grabbed Xie Yun’s long hair.
Xie Yun hadn’t been angry; he even seemed to curl his lips slightly, just gently prying open her little hand to free his hair.
When the Tan family bullied her, what was Xie Yun thinking?
When Xie Yun saw this era, so different from the dynasty he knew, what was he thinking?
She and He Xunye had even seen Xie Yun buying groceries like an ordinary person. She wondered if Xie Yun felt lonely, if he ever thought of the soldiers who fought alongside him, whether he had any attachment to this mortal world.
None of that was known.
Tan Xueci wasn’t a lamb who liked to overthink. Her soul weighed only one gram, and her brain was small and slippery, letting sad things slide away smoothly.
As long as she could be with his husband and not be bullied, she was happy every day.
Soon it was New Year’s Eve. This time, it really was New Year.
He Xunye made her a little red jacket that the lamb could wear, and put a gold-inlaid-jade collar on her.
The little lamb’s ears twitched, clearly feeling very stylish.
He Pinglan also knit a wool hat for the little lamb. She reached out to stroke the lamb’s tail, asking He Xunye curiously, “Have you never calculated your fate with Xiao Xue?”
He Xunye lowered his eyes, casually pulling the lamb’s tail into his own hand, not answering.
He Pinglan rolled her eyes. She’d never seen someone so stingy.
The He family house was decorated with lanterns and red banners. Lu Qi and the others were putting up couplets, a few old folks were preparing dumplings for the evening, some were playing chess, the atmosphere was festive.
The little lamb, wearing her beautiful collar, patrolled her territory, satisfied with everyone’s performance.
And they were moving soon.
Husband said this place was too remote, inconvenient for going to the film set, and also too quiet, so he had bought a house closer to the city center, planning for the whole family to move.
The He family had become the demon’s word. No one dared to oppose his decisions.
After all, no one wanted their mouth torn.
The family was still preparing the New Year’s Eve dinner, but Tan Xueci and He Xunye had to make a trip to Qilian Temple.
He Xunye said he wanted to light an eternal lamp for her, to bless her with everlasting peace.
Tan Xueci thought it was unnecessary. Xie Yun was dead, and she was immortal, so no one in this world could harm her.
But as a little wife, she always followed her husband. Whatever husband said made sense.
Tan Xueci and He Xunye arrived at Qilian Temple in the evening. They also met Master Xuan Shen.
Master Xuan Shen bowed to them, then looked at Tan Xueci and said with a smile, “It should have been my senior who named you, but he passed away many years ago.”
His senior had probably vaguely seen that Tan Xueci carried the karma of many people, so he gave her this name.
Unfortunately, he could only see it but had no ability to deal with the ensuing tribulation, so he left it to Tan Xueci and He Xunye.
The little lamb blinked.
She used to hate this name, but now she didn’t, because so many people praised her on Weibo every day and thanked her. She felt she was destined to be called Tan Xueci.
Tan Xueci and He Xunye went to light the eternal lamp. Curious about what He Pinglan had asked earlier, Tan Xueci lay in He Xunye’s arms and asked, “Did you really never calculate it?”
“No,” He Xunye said. “If I did, it would create karma.”
Before he died, he really wanted to know if he and Tan Xueci were fated, but fate couldn’t be calculated casually.
In other words, maybe he and Tan Xueci weren’t connected originally and wouldn’t have crossed paths again. But because he calculated, they got entangled, and then it wouldn’t be fate, but a fated disaster.
After saying this, the demon suddenly laughed. “But I calculated something else.”
“What?” the little lamb asked, eyes wide.
“I cast a hexagram for myself,” the demon said, his dark peach-blossom eyes curving. “I calculated that I have a yin peach blossom.”
The little lamb’s ears twitched again. She kicked He Xunye’s chest with her hoof and muttered, “Maybe some male or female ghost has a crush on you. That counts as a yin peach blossom too.”
The demon knew what she wanted to hear. Tan Xueci was sometimes straightforward, sometimes shy. She wouldn’t say what she wanted, waiting for him to guess, liking to be coaxed.
He wanted to tease the little lamb, but the little lamb had a temper now. Tan Xueci had been quite aggressive lately and might chase after him to ram his butt, so he didn’t ask for trouble.
“Only the ones I like count as my peach blossoms,” the demon said, pinching the lamb’s hoof and kissing it, being smart. “If I don’t like them, what do they have to do with me?”
Tan Xueci: “…”
Tan Xueci blushed.
Dead ghost, he really knew how to talk.
After lighting the eternal lamp, He Xunye also wanted to pray for a safety charm. He had to kneel in the hall for an hour to show sincerity. He Xunye patted the little lamb’s rump, coaxing her to go play for a while.
Tan Xueci found it absurd—a demon worshipping Buddha, and the dead ghost touching her ass in front of the Buddha.
The Bodhisattva would be angry if they saw!
It was already past seven in the evening. All the worshippers at Qilian Temple had left; only the monks and the two of them remained.
Tan Xueci ran outside, planning to randomly find a monk and ram his butt as a New Year’s gift.
The demon knelt before the Buddha, his pale, ghostly face expressionless. His dark eyes stared heavily at the great Buddha in the hall.
He used to recite sutras night after night before the Buddha, just to pass the time, with nothing to confide to the gods.
But now, for the first time, he had a wish.
He Xunye lit three incense sticks, then knelt before the Buddha for an hour, just like in the many years of his previous ascetic practice.
Just as he was about to rise from the cushion, he suddenly heard footsteps behind him.
The demon turned, stunned.
The moonlight was bright that night. Lanterns burned within Qilian Temple. The young man waved at him, then ran over with shining eyes.
As if to say: ‘I’ve been looking for you for so long. Though the journey was far, though the road was hard, I finally found you!’
He Xunye’s eyes suddenly reddened. He stood up, reaching out to catch Tan Xueci, holding him firmly in his arms.
Tan Xueci felt warm tears streaming down into the hollow of his neck. His gaze softened. He stood on tiptoe to hug He Xunye, reaching out to stroke his head, then blinked and whispered mysteriously, “Husband, let me tell you a story, okay?”
“Okay,” the demon replied, his voice hoarse.
Tan Xueci’s eyes curved into a smile. Amid the temple lights, he cupped the demon’s face and kissed him.
He told He Xunye a story like this:
Once upon a time, there was a little lamb. He was a poor unfortunate soul, but at the end of the story, the little lamb got his husband!
Scatter flowers!
