Chapter 76: The Tenant

We took the elevator to the twelfth floor.
This floor had four apartments, and all of them were owned by Xia Yubing’s parents.
They had bought the entire floor, all as rental properties, but one of the original tenants had moved out, leaving it vacant.

I took out the key and opened the door.
Inside was a very normal four-bedroom, two-living-room apartment.
The living room was very spacious, with almost an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling windows.
When opened, the light was very bright, and the decoration was also very exquisite.

“This house is really nice. It has  floor heating and air conditioning, and the aura is also good. It’s very suitable for living,” Mo Qingyan said as she walked into the room.

I understood what she meant.
In my eyes, the aura of this floor was a faint gold.
It had no ominous energy, nor did it have the stench of money like the wealth aura in the commercial center.
It was a bit like the aura of the monks from Mingwang Temple when they were conducting the ceremony—very pure.

“Unfortunately, this house is still a bit too big. Four bedrooms and two living rooms are suitable for a large family. It’s a bit too empty for me to live here,” I said as I opened one of the bedrooms.

The master bedroom had a large double bed, and there was still space for a computer desk, a dressing table, a wardrobe, and so on.

Even the balcony had a large space, with a sofa and a coffee table, where one could sit and enjoy the view and the moon.

Only three rooms were designed as bedrooms.
Another room was originally supposed to be a study, but the previous owner hadn’t used it as such, so it was empty.

The secondary living room had a treadmill and a stationary bike for some simple exercise.
There was also a home theater.
It could be said that it had all the basic necessities.

The previous tenant had already moved all their luggage, and what was left was the Xia family’s property.
It could be said to be very complete; you could indeed move in and live there right away.

“How about it? Have you decided to live here?” Mo Qingyan asked.
Xiao Qing also said, “If you decide to move in here, we need to start preparing quickly.”

I walked around the house again and even went outside the building to look around again.
I confirmed that there was not a single trace of ominous aura around.
Standing on the balcony and looking down at the entire complex, the human presence was very strong.
Only then did I nod, “This is the place.”

So, we first went back to the hotel, packed up my luggage, which was actually not much at all, and checked out.
Then we went to the market to buy daily necessities such as blankets, towels, and toothbrushes.

When we returned to the fourth building, a gentle and refined young man happened to enter the elevator with us.

“You live on the twelfth floor too? Wait a minute, you seem to be…” his gaze fell on me, and after a moment of confusion, he seemed to remember something and said, “Are you Miss Xia?”

“Hmm? You know me?” I still hadn’t gotten used to being called Miss Xia, and I didn’t know him either.
If he was an old friend of Xia Yubing, I would be a little confused.

“You don’t remember me? I’m the tenant who rented your family’s house. I live in room 12-3,” the young man said, but then he was taken aback again, “But, wasn’t the rent for last month already collected? I already gave it to Mr. Xia.”

“Oh, so you’re one of the tenants. I’m not here to collect rent, but to move in here. Please take care of me in the future,” I said.
Since we were going to be neighbors, we needed to build a good relationship.

“What’s wrong? Is there a problem?” I asked.
The experiences of the past few days had really made me terrified that there would be some ghostly problem here again.
Could it be that this apartment was also not suitable for living?

“No, I was just thinking, Miss Xia’s family should be very rich, right? After all, the entire floor belongs to your family. There’s no need to live in such an old complex, right?” the young man said.

But to me, this large flat was already a luxury.

“Hehe, could it be that Miss Xia is preparing to graduate and study, so your parents are letting you live alone to gain some experience?” the young man guessed blindly.

I couldn’t very well tell him that Xia Yubing’s parents were already dead.

At this moment, the elevator reached the twelfth floor.
The doors opened, and the young man said, “My name is Fan Yuxuan. I’m currently studying at Xunjiang Medical College. You can come to me for help with anything in the future.”

“Hmm? You said you’re studying at Xunjiang Medical College?” Mo Qingyan suddenly asked.
She had been silent until now.

“Yes, I’m majoring in clinical medicine. Although I don’t dare to call myself a doctor yet, if you have any minor problems like a headache or a cold, you can also ask me. Maybe I can offer some suggestions,” Fan Yuxuan appeared very enthusiastic and passionate.

“Okay, I understand,” I, however, acted rather coldly.
Fan Yuxuan didn’t pester us and opened the door to his home, which was right opposite mine.

“He’s studying at Xunjiang Medical College. Is there anything special about that?” I turned and asked Mo Qingyan, wondering why she had reacted only to that sentence.

Xunjiang Medical College was the best university in Xunjiang City.
Many people from other provinces came to study there because of its reputation.
For Fan Yuxuan to be admitted to Xunjiang Medical College meant his grades must be very good.

“It only occurred to me when he mentioned it. After Senior Brother Liang graduated, he was admitted to Xunjiang Medical College. They can be considered schoolmates,” Mo Qingyan said.

“Is that the senior from the Supernatural Events Department who was very powerful that you mentioned?” I asked.
Both Mo Qingyan and Xiao Qing held him in high regard.
Mo Qingyan nodded.

“Alright, those things aren’t important. The most important thing now is to help Brother Xiao set up his new home,” Ou Zhiqin said.

We moved all the things we bought into the room.
I was living in room 12-4.
Next, Xiao Qing and Mo Qingyan kept helping me clean and tidy up the new home.
Even the bed was made by Xiao Qing.

Seemingly simple housework was also very tedious.
We didn’t finish tidying up until five in the afternoon.
Only then did they say goodbye and go home.
