“What, what exactly is happening here?” Zhen gazed at the unfolding situation, utterly bewildered and unable to make sense of it.
Four formidable enemies stood before them: Black Seimei, Great Tengu, Snow Woman, and Nine-Tailed Cat.
Unlike the players, these foes were colossal, appearing as towering giants.
Their immense power allowed them to instantly slay players, exert immediate crowd control, and pose a grave threat to the Main Camp Barrier.
Although their own players seemed comparatively weaker, their reinforcements were undeniably potent.
Two figures had emerged thus far: Seimei and Yaobikuni.
Seimei possessed the ability to conjure a protective shield, warding off enemy attacks, while Yaobikuni could cleanse the curses inflicted by Black Seimei.
Yet, this alone was likely insufficient.
What appeared to be an advantageous 7v4 situation was deceptive; each enemy combatant was equivalent to three players.
If Seimei and Yaobikuni were to be counted with the same strength as the enemy, the true balance tipped into a slight 11v12 disadvantage.
The most critical problem they faced remained the imminent danger of the Main Camp Barrier being destroyed.
The barrier could not move, and if the enemies focused solely on attacking it, these players would likely be powerless to stop them.
“Miko’s Prayer: Exorcism!”
The familiar display of peacock feathers unfurled once more.
Yaobikuni’s purification skill was cast upon Zhen, removing the debilitating effects of “Word of Spirit: Bind,” allowing Zhen to move freely again.
“Much appreciated!”
Zhen immediately sprang into action, launching a flurry of poisoned feathers at Nine-Tailed Cat.
While a one-on-one fight against Nine-Tailed Cat would undoubtedly be unwinnable, Zhen was now a marksman with a full build, and her damage output was not to be underestimated!
Nine-Tailed Cat, wholly focused on shattering the shield, had initially paid no heed to the diminutive Zhen.
However, it was not until Zhen’s incredibly high damage struck her that Nine-Tailed Cat was compelled to acknowledge the opponent she had so carelessly dismissed.
“Meow! You’re so annoying, meow! These attacks, they hurt so much, meow!”
Nine-Tailed Cat abandoned her assault on the “Word of Spirit: Guard” shield, her fur bristling as she glared at Zhen.
With a swift “Pounce,” she lunged forward.
“I’m going to tear you to shreds, meow!”
Zhen shivered involuntarily, instantly repositioning to evade Nine-Tailed Cat’s “Pounce.”
She then unleashed a “Poison Domain” towards Nine-Tailed Cat, applying an “Armor Shred” effect, clearly aiming for a swift and decisive battle.
This, however, was not a solitary endeavor.
Just as their side comprised more than one player, so too did the enemy’s.
There was no room for so-called “samurai honor” here, no declarations of ‘He’s mine, don’t interfere.’
Against an enemy, any means necessary were justified for their complete annihilation!
A chill ran down Zhen’s spine, a clear premonition of danger.
Yet, moving was already an arduous task; she had been struck by Snow Woman’s “Snowball.”
In the very next second, a “Breath of Blizzard” propelled her directly into Nine-Tailed Cat’s path.
Nine-Tailed Cat then unleashed a “Sharp Claws” attack, followed by a basic attack that triggered her passive “Retaliation,” instantly felling Zhen.
Indeed, the intensity was palpable.
Nine-Tailed Cat was inherently a marksman counter, and in her current giant form, she was an even more formidable foe, making an instant kill virtually inevitable.
Wang Tianming felt a surge of intense anxiety.
The enemies were simply too powerful; this was an utterly unfair contest.
At level eighteen, the resurrection timer was extensive, long enough for Wang Tianming to ponder the meaning of life within the Seimei Well—and, of course, long enough for the enemy to obliterate the Main Camp Barrier.
Within the Seimei Well, Wang Tianming observed the others.
Their resurrection timers were nearing their end, allowing them to soon respawn and rejoin the fray.
At this very moment, they were busy purchasing equipment, particularly the newbie woman.
She could no longer mimic the newbie man’s build, as her third Shikigami was Blade Oni Princess, an Attack Damage Shikigami, whereas the newbie man’s third Shikigami, Shiro Mujou, remained an Ability Power Shikigami.
Currently, they were explaining Blade Oni Princess’s key skills and item build strategies to the newbie woman, but Wang Tianming found himself utterly devoid of such inclination.
The others had been instantly defeated when the ‘plot’ moments occurred, leading them to instinctively believe these were mere narrative kills.
However, Wang Tianming clearly understood that the enemies were genuinely powerful; they didn’t rely on plot devices, but rather on sheer strength to instantly eliminate players.
