An arrow, imbued with the delicate magic of pink sakura petals, streaked towards the Nine-Tailed Cat.
In quick succession, a flurry of sharp arrows burst from White Wolf’s longbow, immediately followed by yet another arrow shimmering with those same pink sakura effects.
This specific sequence, known as A2A, constituted White Wolf’s fundamental maneuver: a basic attack, immediately followed by her second skill, “Scatter Shot,” and then another basic attack.
This precision allowed her to seamlessly cancel the animation delays of both the initial basic attack and “Scatter Shot,” thus maximizing her damage output.
Moreover, White Wolf’s basic attack was not to be underestimated.
Far from a simple strike, it was deeply imbued with her third skill, “Concentration,” causing each arrow to inflict magic damage based on a percentage of the enemy’s maximum health.
Indeed, “Concentration” stood as White Wolf’s most formidable damage-dealing ability, and once her attack speed reached its peak, her output became truly unbearable for any foe.
Undeniably, White Wolf was a Shikigami designed for the late game, and now, at level eighteen with a complete six-item build, she was an unequivocally terrifying presence.
This held true even if her opponent happened to be a super Shikigami.
“Ugh, such bitter defeat, meow…”
Already critically wounded, the Nine-Tailed Cat found herself utterly unable to withstand White Wolf’s relentless onslaught.
With her passive skill, “Nine Lives,” now expended, there was no possibility of another revival.
She could only writhe for a moment before collapsing, her right hand weakly attempting to lift itself from the ground, but ultimately failing.
“A prime opportunity! Finish off the Snow Woman!”
White Wolf, observing the Blade Oni Princess still rooted to the spot in a daze, promptly bellowed, urging her to swiftly eliminate the critically wounded Snow Woman, thereby preventing her from unleashing her ultimate ability, “Frosty Wind and Chilly Night,” once more.
“Oh, I see!”
Despite being a newbie, the Blade Oni Princess was far from foolish.
With White Wolf’s sharp reminder, she instantly grasped the situation.
Gripping her great katana, she activated her third skill, “Blade Assault,” surging forward to close the distance with the Snow Woman, intent on striking her down within three swift blows.
“Beware of the Snow Woman’s shield! Remember to use your first skill, ‘Lingering Heart,’ to negate it!”
Still uneasy, White Wolf continued to caution the Blade Oni Princess, even as she herself began to move towards the Snow Woman.
Initially, upon emerging from the Seimei Well, White Wolf had activated her first skill, “Fleet Foot,” which had allowed her to sprint with incredible speed.
Yet, that acceleration had long been interrupted, leaving her to advance at a more measured pace, much like any ordinary marksman.
“Understood!”
The Blade Oni Princess wasted no words.
Her “Blade Assault” carried her forward, and with a single, decisive strike, she shattered the Snow Woman’s passive first skill, “Snow’s Embrace.”
Instantly, she activated her own first skill, “Lingering Heart,” successfully parrying the incoming damage and crowd control from “Snow’s Embrace,” thereby effectively countering the Snow Woman.
Just as the Blade Oni Princess unleashed her second skill, “Soul Eater,” poised to unleash a torrent of damage and swiftly dispatch the Snow Woman, Black Seimei, who had seemed to be disconnected for an extended period, finally intervened!
“No, you shall not push your luck any further! Word Spirit: Guard!”
Black Seimei, surprisingly, also possessed the “Word Spirit: Guard” ability.
Yet, for the two players familiar with the game Onmyoji (Game), this revelation was not entirely astonishing.
The crucial issue, however, lay in the astonishing thickness of Black Seimei’s “Word Spirit: Guard” shield.
It appeared players would genuinely have to strike at it for an eternity to shatter it, and even the high-damage Blade Oni Princess and White Wolf were no exception.
White Wolf’s percentage-based damage, in particular, proved utterly ineffective against this particular “Word Spirit: Guard” shield, only yielding results against actual players, minions, or jungle monsters.
Should they fail to swiftly dismantle this formidable shield, the grim fate awaiting the two players could very well be a frozen demise at the hands of the Snow Woman’s ultimate ability!
“Heh heh, Black Seimei, you truly dream too grandly!”
A crisp, delightful voice resonated, its owner sounding remarkably young, exuding cheerfulness, liveliness, and even a hint of mischief.
Many otaku (TL Note: A Japanese loanword, ‘otaku,’ referring to a person with an obsessive interest in popular culture, particularly anime, manga, and video games.) would undoubtedly find this voice exhilarating.
“Summon: Purgatory!”
From the Seimei Well emerged a small girl, clad in a vibrant red kimono.
Forming intricate hand seals, she then pressed her hands downward.
In an instant, the ground beneath Black Seimei and the Snow Woman darkened ominously, and countless black and crimson hands erupted from below, transforming the area into a scene of true purgatory.
“Kagura, you’ve arrived as well!”
Black Seimei’s eyes widened in furious indignation as he glared at the newcomer, uttering resentfully, “No, you simply fail to comprehend my grand cause!”
“Black Seimei, there is no grand cause to your actions; it is merely a facade for your own selfish desires!”
Seimei shook his head, his voice ringing with righteous conviction.
