Join the Server“Do you want to join the Pure White Angel Support Club?”
The beige-haired man extended his hand toward Anne with an exaggerated smile.
Caught off guard by the sudden question, Anne felt a bit flustered and could only reply awkwardly,
“Um… what exactly is that?”
“Of course it’s an organization dedicated to spreading the deeds of the Pure White Angel and supporting her!”
The man grew more and more excited as he spoke, his tone rising continuously.
“Then… what is the Pure White Angel?”
“Although I don’t know her name, I’ve seen her fighting! She’s incredibly powerful and kind, pure white hair, a beautiful face, like a god descending from the heavens. Every time she appears, she shines with a holy radiance. Her swordsmanship is divine, just a casual swing, and darkness flees before her. She’s full of compassion; those oppressed by dark forces, anyone who asks her for help, she always saves them!”
He spoke so passionately that spit practically flew, his excitement growing stronger by the second.
As Anne listened, an image began forming in her mind, a radiant, pure white-haired girl wielding a glowing blade in battle.
The image became clearer… and more familiar.
‘The shop owner?’
Anne’s pupils shrank suddenly as yesterday’s rescue scene flashed in her mind.
The more she thought about it, the more those over-the-top descriptions sounded tailor-made for the shop owner.
“Let me ask… the Pure White Angel you’re talking about, she’s also a holy practitioner, can use holy light, and fights with a brilliant shining sword, right?”
Hearing Anne’s words, the man grew even more excited. He waved his hands wildly, his eyes blazing with fanaticism.
“Yes, yes, exactly! So you’ve seen her too! When she wields that radiant sword, it’s like it can illuminate all darkness and purify all evil. And when she uses holy light, it’s so beautiful it takes your breath away. That sacred power feels like it could heal all suffering in the world!”
Anne was now certain, the “Pure White Angel” he spoke of was her shop owner.
She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
So in others’ eyes, the shop owner had already become a myth-like figure… even with her own fan club.
“Then… what do you usually do in this club?” Anne asked curiously.
The man eagerly explained,
“We spread the deeds of the Pure White Angel throughout the academy so more people can know her greatness. We want to let more people feel her spirit, and when she needs it, offer even the smallest bit of support!”
Anne’s heart stirred. She thought of how the shop owner treated her, and how she fought that monster to save her yesterday.
“It seems you’ve also been saved by her. Don’t you feel even a little captivated by her?”
The man’s expression grew increasingly fervent.
To be honest, Anne’s feelings weren’t that extreme.
But to say she felt nothing would be a lie.
At the moment she thought everything was over… that light appeared, and her heart had pounded wildly.
‘She’s just cute and gentle… and saved my life… it’s not a big deal, right?’
‘…Right?’
The intense stirring in her heart told her otherwise.
“Alright… I’ll join…”
With a mix of helplessness and faint joy, Anne spoke.
But then she froze.
The beige-haired man had taken out a photograph.
It showed the shop owner in battle.
Under the quiet moonlight, darkness ahead, a radiant blade, and the side profile of the Pure White Angel.
“You can get this if you attend three meetings a month!” he tempted.
Anne stared at the photo, the shop owner’s determined gaze, fixed forward.
‘That’s clearly secretly taking photos, isn’t it?!’
“Wait…” Anne pointed at a small mark in the corner, “You even added a watermark?”
“Did you even get her permission for this?”
She crossed her arms, her eyes filled with doubt and exasperation.
This club suddenly didn’t seem very proper.
“You don’t understand! If the Pure White Angel knew we were spreading her spirit and promoting her virtues, she would definitely agree!”
The man spoke confidently.
But to Anne, it sounded like pure sophistry.
Refusing would certainly save her trouble… but she still wanted to join.
That way, she could observe whether this so-called support club might harm the shop owner.
That was the only reason.
That’s what Anne told herself as she made her decision.
She took the photo and said seriously,
“I’ll join.”
“Great! Welcome! My name is Lanqi. Nice to meet you!”
His joy was obvious.
Anne carefully placed the photo into her bag.
It’s all for the shop owner.
…But where should she put this photo in her room?
She found herself troubled by that thought.

On the way back to the dormitory…
“Anne!”
Lost in thought about having possibly joined some strange organization, Anne suddenly heard someone call her.
Looking toward the voice, she saw a small figure half-hidden behind a wall.
It was the shop owner, waving at her.
Anne quickly walked over.
“What’s wrong, boss?”
From her expression, Anne could tell she seemed uneasy.
“Anne, have you noticed anyone suspicious lately?”
“No, boss.”
Anne shook her head lightly, her hair swaying with the motion.
Aside from being shocked by the boss’s strength… the only unusual thing was meeting Lanqi earlier.
“It feels like someone’s been following me lately. I can sense eyes on me, but when I turn around, there’s only passersby. It’s strange.”
Lila sighed softly, rubbing her temples.
Could it be demon followers watching her? She had been dealing with monsters frequently, being targeted wouldn’t be surprising.
Or maybe just some creep… though she didn’t want to admit it, she was probably quite beautiful.
Hearing this, Anne showed a strange expression. She lowered her head slightly, hesitating before speaking softly,
“I see… that is strange.”
Her tone carried a faint trace of guilt.
“Sorry, Anne. The shop’s been closed lately, so you’ve all had to rest.”
Lila knew their living expenses depended heavily on work.
But she had paid them in advance when she decided to close, so it should be fine.
“It’s alright, boss. And… thank you for saving me yesterday.”
Anne thanked her sincerely.
Lila accepted it naturally, after all, she had been dragged into doing unpaid work by Ulysses, so being thanked was only fair.
As for the victims, Ulysses hadn’t revealed the truth about the demon followers.
Under the academy’s arrangements, some people had already left under the pretense of missions after undergoing holy inspection.
“So… you must be quite free lately, Anne?” Lila asked.
Anne nodded.
“Then I have something to ask of you. I’ll pay you.”
Lila looked serious.
“If I can do it, I’ll help.”
“I want you to watch for any suspicious stalkers lately. If you find anything, tell me immediately.”
Lila spoke firmly.
But Anne fell silent again, frowning as if thinking deeply.
Lila couldn’t help but wonder, ‘what’s wrong with her lately?’
“Y-Yes… I’ll do it.”
Anne snapped back and agreed.
“Good. I’ll go inform Simon and Alice as well.”
Lila turned to leave.
“Um… boss, have you heard of the Pure White Angel Support Club?”
“What’s that?”
Lila looked confused.
“Nothing…” Anne hesitated.
Lila didn’t press further, everyone had their own secrets.
After parting ways, she recalled how Anne had changed slightly after being saved.
‘How strange.’
Walking down the street, Lila muttered to herself.
