Join the ServerLila’s restaurant had many private rooms similar to independent meeting chambers.
After all, with her financial strength, she could easily support the operation of such a place.
“That Lila is way too much. And in the end, I even saw her attack Leonor without hesitation. Though, to be fair, Leonor is pretty annoying too…”
Alice, with her silver hair, sat across from Simon and spoke indignantly.
“Simon, she didn’t hit you, did she?”
Simon tossed a coin into the air with one hand, caught it, and showed the result, it was heads.
He shook his head.
“Not really. It’s just that no matter what troublesome task comes up, she dumps it on me. I have to cater to her every whim, or she punishes me. She really treats me like a servant.”
“So what are you planning to do?”
The one who spoke was Siegfried.
He was Simon’s roommate and sat beside him, lightly tapping the table as he asked.
“My suggestion is to go along with her for now, then stay far away from her after graduation.”
Vigus, expressionless, spoke calmly.
She was Alice’s roommate and also from the same village as Siegfried.
Hearing this, Simon could only spread his hands helplessly and smile bitterly.
“That’s the only way. Until she loses interest, that witch definitely won’t let me go. Once I graduate, I’ll run as far away from her as possible.”
“But the exams are coming up soon. You still can’t use magic?”
Alice suddenly asked, as if recalling something.
Simon scratched his head.
“No… I’ve tried every method, but I just can’t feel it. It’s like the power they say I have is fake.”
Siegfried shook his head repeatedly, then patted Simon on the shoulder.
“If you get no score on the exam, it’ll be hard to graduate, Simon.”
“But if you participate in the simulated combat arena and place near the top, you can still pass, right?”
Vigus reminded him.
“I can’t even use magic, how am I supposed to fight them?”
Simon frowned, looking utterly troubled.
“Here you go, your drinks are ready!”
A crisp voice rang out.
It was Lila, in her role as the manager, carrying a tray as she approached and placed it on the table, setting the drinks down one by one.
“And lastly, this is Alice’s, and Simon’s lemon juice.”
In truth, she had been eavesdropping at the door for quite some time.
Although Simon always appeared cold in front of her, his inner emotions were plentiful, he simply never revealed them to Lila, the noble lady.
“Sorry for the trouble, Manager. You even brought them personally.”
Alice immediately said.
“You two are both my good employees. And since it’s break time, you should relax properly.”
Lila said with a smile.
“I just heard, Simon, are you worried about the exams?”
Upon hearing this, Simon immediately became excited.
Ever since the day the manager revealed her Holy Light, he had suspected she might be some hidden legendary master.
“Manager, do you have a solution?”
However, Lila only shook her head slightly.
“I’m just a small shop manager. What solution could I possibly have? I only have a suggestion.”
A trace of disappointment flashed across Simon’s face, though barely noticeable.
Still, he continued,
“Please, go ahead.”
“You’re worried because you can’t use magic, right?”
“Yeah. If only I could use this strange dark magic…”
Simon nodded.
“I think that when one path doesn’t work, you can try another. You’re still young and physically strong. Perhaps you could try becoming a warrior. Archery, great axes, warhammers, or even swordsmanship. I think it’s worth trying.”
“But I’ve never practiced any of those before.”
Simon instinctively rejected the idea.
“It’s not about whether you can—it’s about whether you want to. I think you should at least give it a try.”
Lila said.
“Alright, thank you, Manager! I can’t hang myself on a single tree. Otherwise, I might end up being tortured by Lila for the rest of my life!”
Simon spoke with a horrified expression.
Meanwhile, Lila, sitting right in front of him, felt nothing but speechless inside.
So fear of her was more effective than the manager’s gentle encouragement.
Although she really wanted to explode on the spot and transform into the villainous noble lady to punish Simon, she was still the manager here, she couldn’t expose herself yet.
Thus, she suppressed the impulse, forcing a smile as she said,
“Then do your best, Simon! You all enjoy your break, I won’t disturb you any longer.”
“Goodbye, Manager.”
Watching the manager leave the room, Simon couldn’t help but sigh inwardly at how incredibly kind she was.
He felt like he had experienced both the worst and the luckiest things in life.
The worst was being targeted by Lila and forced into all kinds of torment.
The luckiest was meeting the manager, beautiful, gentle, well-paying, and most importantly, flexible with working hours.
At least within the somewhat unstructured curriculum of Casser Academy, Simon had the chance to earn a living and support himself.
“The manager really is a good person.”
Simon’s inner thoughts were voiced aloud by Alice.
“Someone treating you this well… don’t you think she might have ulterior motives?”
Vigus said expressionlessly.
The others weren’t surprised, she was always like this.
Not emotionless, just someone who didn’t like expressing feelings.
“What do we even have that’s worth her going through all that trouble to deceive us?”
Simon replied dismissively.
“Forget I said anything.”
Her tone remained cold, though there seemed to be a hint of helplessness within it.
“There’s nothing to worry about. The manager is clearly a good person. You should worry more about Simon’s exam instead.”
Siegfried laughed heartily.
“Are you really going to try what the manager suggested?”
Alice asked with concern.
Compared to mages, becoming a warrior required far less innate talent, but far more time and effort, more than memorizing magic circles, incantations, and runic patterns combined, and it was also far more dangerous.
“I want to try. If I can’t graduate, wouldn’t coming here have been pointless? My parents would be disappointed too.”
Simon said.
“Forget that for now, your lemon juice smells so sour it’s killing me. Hurry up and drink it!”

The conversation in the room continued.
Meanwhile, back in her office, Lila had already begun planning ways to torment…
No, to train Simon.
Perhaps the teaching ability of other instructors in the academy was lacking, but with Lila around, she knew very well how to cultivate a perfect swordsman.
However, there was another matter that concerned her.
Ulysses White.
A world-renowned Sword Saint who had once defeated a dragon, ventured alone into the underworld, and even crossed blades with the king of the Demon race.
Why would such a legendary figure appear at Casser Academy as a swordsmanship instructor?
From what Lila knew, Ulysses was an extremely free-spirited person, someone who refused to be bound by others.
Before coming to Casser, he had always been a traveler, more precisely, an adventurer.
If he had come to Casser Academy, it likely signaled that something significant was about to happen.
More importantly, regarding the incident with Leonor, the disciplinary office had handed full authority over to Ulysses.
She had no idea what that man was planning.
Life was like this…
Always throwing all kinds of problems at people, making them fear what lay ahead.
Yet even so, Lila still felt…
Being alive was good.
Perhaps… she should try to keep living.
