Chapter 15: A bad accident

“Sorry, Miss.”

There wasn’t the slightest hint of apology in his voice. At least before, Simon would put on an act, what was different this time?

Lila slowly turned around. Simon’s brows were tightly furrowed into a deep crease, his discomfort obvious at a glance.

“Since you obeyed my command, I’ll give you a chance. Try to explain yourself. If your explanation doesn’t satisfy me… you know what happens.”

Lila remained expressionless, her tone flat, though a trace of irritation stirred inside her.

Already feeling unwell, Simon heard her condescending question, and the anger in his chest nearly broke through. He took a deep breath.

But for now, he couldn’t turn against Lila.

So he told her honestly the reason for being late.

Dizzy from the teleportation array?

Seeing how bad he looked, Lila didn’t really want to punish him. Still, she needed some reason to have called him here.

“I’ll accept your explanation for now.”

She maintained her indifferent attitude, letting out a faint sneer before continuing,

“Next time there’s free team selection, you must be in my group. As for the others, choose however you like.”

After she finished speaking, she received no response. Looking closely, she saw Simon’s eyes were hollow, as if his soul had been pulled out, standing there completely stunned.

“Hey, did you hear me?”

Lila raised her voice.

Still no answer. She stepped closer.

The next moment, Simon’s body collapsed straight toward her. Lila failed to react in time. In that instant, her lips seemed to brush against something equally soft.

For that moment, time seemed to freeze.

By the time Lila realized what had happened, her hands had already caught Simon, his face right in front of hers.

She blankly steadied him, her mind racing, what else on her face could be that soft?

The answer was… nothing.

Not bothering with anything else, she hurriedly wiped her lips.

A wave of discomfort rose within her. She glanced around in a fluster, making sure no one had witnessed the awkward scene, before calming down slightly.

Then she looked at Simon with a complicated expression. His eyes were tightly shut, he had completely fainted.

“How terrifying is that teleportation array to mess him up like this?” Lila muttered inwardly.

Seeing him unconscious, she sighed helplessly.

‘Guess I’ll take him back.’

As a swordsman, her strength was well-trained. After thinking for a moment, she grabbed Simon’s legs and hoisted him onto her shoulder.

This should work.

“Hey, you’re Simon’s roommate, right?”

“What did you do to Simon?!”

Seeing Lila carrying Simon like that, Siegfried’s anger instantly flared. That was his good friend, knocked unconscious and carried back like this!

“Lila, don’t think I’m easy to bully! If you did this to my friend, I’ll fight you!”

Lila was once again speechless. ‘Where did this hothead come from?’ She snorted coldly.

“Get it straight, I didn’t knock him out!”

She snapped.

“He said he got dizzy from the teleportation. I didn’t even touch him before he collapsed.”

She set Simon down, gesturing for Siegfried to support him.

“If you don’t believe me, check if he has any injuries.”

Siegfried stepped forward suspiciously and checked him over. Sure enough, there wasn’t a single wound.

“And you just happened to kindly bring him back?”

“Don’t misunderstand. I’m not a sadist. Before, I was just disciplining a servant.”

Lila explained calmly.

“And if Simon remembers, tell him, during free team selection, he must be in my team. That’s an order.”

After saying that, Lila didn’t wait for Siegfried’s reply and turned to leave.
