“Whatever it is, your body can’t handle it now.”
“Then what is it, you bastard?”
You know what it is. As if you’ve already seen everything. As if you already know.
Dokyeom grabbed the hand around his neck and tried to pry it off. Of course, the hand didn’t budge. But as he stubbornly clawed at it, the struggle turned into a physical fight. Even then, only Dokyeom was thrashing about.
“Can you let go? Let go and…!”
As he shouted as if coughing out his trapped breath, Dokyeom staggered like someone who had missed a step. His vision swayed. The world spun, and he couldn’t keep his balance. Nausea rose, and his breath came harshly. Then, suddenly, through his blurry eyes, Dokyeom saw white text floating before him.
It was a strange message.
[The target has no possibility of becoming a ‘Bound Fated One’, so the skill activation of
And then something dripped.
Dokyeom’s trembling eyes followed the drops. Blood fell, soaking his clothes and splattering on the floor. It was too red. Too much.
Why-
He wiped under his nose, but there was no trace of blood. He blinked weakly. Only then did he realize his mouth felt muddy. The blood wasn’t coming from his nose but pouring from between his lips. The metallic taste made his stomach churn.
I didn’t… use any skill…?
“Cough, cough…”
“…I know I’m not exactly a trustworthy person to you, Han Dokyeom-ssi.”
The words echoed dully. In his swaying vision, Taeseongyeon’s expressionless face flickered. The hand that had been resting under his chin pressed his lips open. The hand was so hot it felt like it had been burned, making his shoulders flinch.
“But even so, I’m doing this because you want me to do something, right?”
After those cold words, the thumb parting his lips pressed down on his tongue, forcing him to spit out blood. Dokyeom’s legs buckled, and his body was caught by strong arms as he collapsed. The tips of his feet barely brushed the ground, and the surroundings changed.
“Wait, cough…!”
Dokyeom clung to Taeseongyeon as he moved across the room, crumpling his shirt in his fists. Then, with a thud, his body was set down somewhere.
It was on a wooden table. Taeseongyeon, leaning over the table with his hands on it, met Dokyeom’s eyes as he gasped for breath.
Even with a face that looked like it was about to die, Dokyeom glared at Taeseongyeon like a dog baring its teeth. He wiped the blood smeared around his mouth with the back of his hand and forced himself to swallow the saliva pooling in his mouth. The world was spinning.
“So, ha… what are you going to do? If you’re going to scold me, then give me some magic power like last time… cough… and we’ll call it even…”
“Dokyeom, what are you trying to do that you covet even my magic power?”
“Because, ha… I’m out of energy. So… consider it a scolding… ha, hand it over.”
Why is he so stubborn?
Taeseongyeon let out a dry word between his lips. His eyes looked so fragile, as if they would burst and spill blood at the slightest touch, yet what made him so bold?
A beast that had just grown teeth and was biting would at least know how to play nice. But Han Dokyeom, even at death’s door, never learned to dull his edges.
“You want it that badly. Then I’ll give it to you.”
When the hand that had been on the table rose, Taeseongyeon’s head also tilted over Dokyeom’s shoulder.
Dokyeom’s body flinched. The moist breath touching the seal sent chills through him. His mind grew hazy, and his hands trembled. His vision had already begun to darken long ago.
As he panted for breath, a low voice suddenly scraped his ear.
“Try holding your breath and enduring it. You have quite sharp ears, but from what I can see, it seems like Han Dokyeom-ssi would be the one in trouble if sound got out.”
It took him a while to realize the meaning of those words, as he pressed on the table to steady his swaying body.
Something caught his fingertips. He looked down and saw small devices that looked like miniature microphones. Four, no. Five of them were bundled together and rolling on the table.
They were listening devices. Hidden somewhere in this room, they had been dragged out by Taeseongyeon’s hand.
The moment he realized it, a wave of disgust washed over Dokyeom. Right next to him… he was going to do this?
Before he could even spit out the heated words, a burning mass touched the seal. His heart pounded without warning.
“If you can’t hold it, bite somewhere. I’ll take care of it.”
“Ha… get lost…”
Dokyeom gritted his teeth. The moment he begged, he knew he would be bitten on the neck. As if he would care.
He turned his head, took a deep breath, and waited. When Taeseongyeon’s tongue, causing chills, softly licked the seal and made contact, Dokyeom bit back a suppressed moan.
“……!”
A sinister energy he had experienced once before fiercely stabbed into his body. Heaving breaths escaped uncontrollably. As soon as he curled his fingertips and grabbed Taeseongyeon’s clothes, his vision spun and his body leaned forward.
With his head resting on Taeseongyeon’s shoulder, Dokyeom’s closed eyes trembled.
Endure. If I just get the magic power… I’ll be fine for a while. I just need to hold on until I get back to Korea. So, this is nothing.
“Ha…”
If I just endure it.
His waist flinched at the strength of the arms that held his back tightly. His breath trembled instinctively. The touch of lips fidgeting over the seal seemed to convey a faint warning.
Just as the lips that had been soothingly touching his ear seemed to whisper something, Dokyeom twisted his shoulder as a fierce energy seared through his body.
“Hngh…!”
The night on the snowy mountain, when snowflakes flew, came back to life. It was that feverishness he had experienced that day, trembling helplessly.
It was hot. Yet he felt both chills and heat at the same time. Every time the tongue, brushing against his pulse, touched the seal, something hot with form burrowed into his body. It invaded as if rooting into his limits, and when the magic intertwined, Taeseongyeon ruthlessly pulled it out in one go.
It felt as if something was scraping his insides and pulling them out all at once.
“Ha, a little… slowly… huff,”
“Slowly? This is better for Han Dokyeom-ssi.”
A moist kiss touched his ear. The invading magic power roamed inside his body with its stopper closed.
“Then try doing what’s better.”
The sensation of something filling his insides moving around teasingly made Dokyeom bite his lip. As he curled his fingertips and scratched Taeseongyeon’s back, twisting his body, the expansion of magic didn’t stop.
His vision blurred uncontrollably. And among the heavily crushed sensations, when his breath reached its limit-
“Ha…!”
The magic power was pulled out all at once again. Dokyeom’s shoulders recoiled as if stabbed. His vision sank and collapsed. And without fail, a sharp energy stabbed into the seal again.
But the entire process was unbearably vivid and slow. To the point of shivering.
Rather, impatience took over. Honestly… yes. It was better to end this quickly.
“Just… ha, qui… quickly… hngh!”
The moment he panted out the words, the magic power crushed in at once and settled. Dokyeom squeezed his eyes shut and shuddered. Saliva pooled thickly in his panting mouth. He bit down so hard that his molars might break.
“Dokyeom, I’m doing as you asked. Why are you gritting your teeth?”
The words sound languid and pleasant. At first glance, it almost seemed like he was coaxing. Maybe that’s why. The tension in his clenched jaw loosened.
“Ha… just… hurry up and… finish it, right?”
Taeseongyeon only let out a low laugh. After that laugh, a short word rang out, pressed down.
“Then endure more.”
Those words burned his mind black. Taeseongyeon tilted his head and kissed Dokyeom’s eye corner. After planting a kiss on Dokyeom’s cheek, ear, and neck, he pressed his tongue to the seal again.
A sharp pain shot through the seal. Whether from exhaustion, even that small pain made aches rise like heat.
The hand that had been crumpling Taeseongyeon’s clothes slipped off midway. Dokyeom’s fingers fell onto the table and touched a dull object. The forgotten listening device.
What…
Blinking his weakly closing eyes, Dokyeom looked down at the device. Now he saw it was a wreck with all the wires torn off. No sound was coming out from the start. Taeseongyeon had only scared him.
A hollow laugh escaped. In the meantime, the harsh energy seeped back into his body. Until their magic powers rubbed tenaciously against each other and then tangled sticky, Dokyeom barely endured, chewing on curses.
And then, when that head fell motionless onto Taeseongyeon’s shoulder, the heat that had boiled to its limit finally peaked and subsided.
Everything was quiet. The lights decorating the nightscape outside the window painted Dokyeom’s sleeping cheeks white. But even so, his neck and ears were bright red.
Taeseongyeon rubbed the seal to check the saturation of magic. This should be fine for a while.
A dry tear mark seemed to faintly appear on his cheek. After looking for a long while, Taeseongyeon left a kiss on that cheek.
***
When Dokyeom emerged from his hazy dream and opened his eyes, it was midnight. The ceiling seemed to ripple in the darkness, and the light of the nightscape streaming in from outside reminded him of fishing boats floating on the water.
Blinking drowsily, Dokyeom stared blankly at the ceiling, then stiffened as he realized the unfamiliar bed. The beings that should have been warming him on both sides were gone.
Whack-
He started up in surprise, but an arm around his waist pulled him back. Turning around in surprise, he met silver eyes. It was Taeseongyeon.
“Go back to sleep. It’s late anyway.”
