“Aaaaaah!”

“Change direction! Turn around! Make a U-turn!”

The large and small vehicles ahead were already scrambling to turn back. Every speeding car started veering off the road as if their lives depended on it.

Dokyeom, along with Beom Yeonhu and Baek Jiun, all looked at Yisaein at the same time. Yisaein brazenly pushed her sunglasses back up the bridge of her nose and curled her fingers to examine her nails.

…Right, he had endured a lot. At least this wasn’t Korea.

The ‘Seongwi’ of Yisaein, the Wind and Wave Angel.

Among the ‘Nine-Rank Angels,’ he was a First-Rank ‘Cherubim,’ the highest and most pure. Normally gentle, but when provoked, he had a temperament foul enough to sweep away an entire continent.

Yisaein could borrow his power to create storms anywhere, and their ferocity rivaled hurricanes.

Her Seongwi, who had lived for eons, wanted only one thing: violent tempests in his monotonous daily life.

And in this current game, he followed Yisaein around, satiating his vicarious desires. That was how much Yisaein was loved by her Seongwi.

“Why do you keep looking at me? I told you it wasn’t me.”

Perhaps the stares were a bit burdensome, Yisaein crossed her legs and nonchalantly muttered a lame excuse. Only Baek Jiun looked at her with admiration.

Dokyeom leaned his head back against Agon’s shoulder, his cheek pressed against it. His gaze fixed on Wang Rong, who was sweating and screaming.

[The demon ‘Orias’ of the ‘Legemeton’ clicks his tongue, asking why he has become so frail.]

[The demon ‘Orias’ of the ‘Legemeton’ stands up, saying he’ll bring some tonic and vanishes.]

After all, this was expected from the Shanghai Association. A car without even a common black box, phones out of service range, those tricks were blatantly obvious. No one could be unaware.

But if they thought he would just sit still, they were mistaken. From the moment he met Wang Rong, Dokyeom had already exchanged whispered words behind Baek Jiun and the others.

‘When we get in the car, test if you can record video.’

‘Whoa, suddenly? But hyung, my ability can shoot even with jamming signals.’

I know. But,

‘Here, hiding that is your job.’

If Baek Jiun’s ability seemed inferior to the hunters emitting jamming signals, the Shanghai side would feel more at ease.

If there was one regret:

[Failed to activate on ‘Wang Rong (A)’. (Success rate 16%). Cooldown: 24 hours.]

The skill had failed. If he had gained something, it would have been ideal, but failure wasn’t worth lamenting.

Among the things floating above Wang Rong’s head, Dokyeom didn’t yet desire any of them.

As far as Dokyeom knew, these were all command-type skills. Wang Rong excelled at directing people, and his true value lay in commanding troops with his brilliance rather than charging in himself.

For Dokyeom at this moment, they were unnecessary. Of course, if he ever needed them, he could always come back.

Dokyeom idly gazed out the window. The weather was fine, clouds drifted by. No, the clouds were being swept away, helplessly sucked into a hurricane.

As soon as they arrived at the hotel, the Sahyeon Guild hunters headed to their rooms to unpack. Thanks to the hurricane Yisaein created, the schedule was thrown off, and a 30-minute drive took two hours. Despite getting out of the car with pale faces, not a single complaint was heard.

They all suspected Yisaein as the source of that hurricane. Unless some lunatic stepped forward to bark instead, it was just a natural disaster. Yes, a sudden typhoon that appeared out of nowhere.

Besides, the Chinese hunters in the front seats had screamed louder.

“Hyung, done unpacking? I’m going out to buy some snacks. Want me to get you some? Or wanna come together?”

Baek Jiun popped his head into the hotel room and asked. Dokyeom paused his unpacking and looked out the window. It was almost evening, and he was feeling hungry.

“Aren’t others going out to grab a bite before dinner?”

“Wait a moment. Let me change into something comfortable.”

Dokyeom took off his coat and put on a comfortable hoodie. He turned to find Beom Yeonhu, who had been arranging toiletries until a moment ago. Just then, Beom Yeonhu came out of the bathroom.

“Yeonhu hyung, we’re going out to buy something. What do you want? I need to get something for Dali later anyway.”

“Then let’s go together, Dokyeom-ah. I’m hungry too.”

Beom Yeonhu answered without hesitation, a quiet smile on his face. Before leaving, Dokyeom instinctively reached for his phone, then remembered it was out of service. He tossed it on the bed with a bitter expression.

The phones were still outside the service area, and due to the jamming signals, cameras and videos were filled with noise. Hunters posing as security were posted in the hallways, in front of rooms, and on every floor. Anyone leaving had to be accompanied by at least one bodyguard.

‘Please rest comfortably. As soon as Representative Taeseongyeon arrives, we will convene a meeting team. We will all see you then.’

Wang Rong, pale from screaming in the car, had said that with a diplomatic smile. With those words, he left, leaving the surveillance agents and Sahyeon Guild hunters in this prison-like hotel.

That meant the upcoming ‘meeting’ would include the Shanghai City Association.

“Hyung, how about the night market? It’s a bit far, but since we’re in Shanghai, we could skip dinner and go there. I saw on NewTube that there’s tons of good food.”

“If you’re going, go with Yeonhu hyung holding hands. I feel like I’m dying. Ugh, my whole body aches.”

“I knew this would happen. You caught a summer cold that even dogs wouldn’t get, and now this. Ah, forget it. If hyung won’t go, then I won’t go either. At least let me take Dali then.”

Baek Jiun grumbled, then brightened and slyly mentioned Dali, but that was a waste of effort. Dali, blinking his eyes, just stared at the passionately persuading Baek Jiun as if he were a cow watching a chicken. He showed no interest.

“I’m not going, I said! Not going!”

Eventually, Baek Jiun, fuming, stomped his feet as if to show ‘I’m angry now’ and walked ahead of Dokyeom. But his spirited stride soon stopped.

The lobby entrance was packed with pitch-black figures. The people blocking the wide lobby were unmistakably wearing familiar clothes.

Namely, the Sahyeon Guild uniform.

What’s this now…

Baek Jiun’s blinking eyes fixed on the brightly lit hotel entrance. Over ten people were gathered there, as if something was happening.

Ever curious, Baek Jiun was already perking up his ears and moving forward. Dokyeom also stopped and watched the situation.

Listening closely, he could hear agitated exchanges. The Sahyeon Guild hunters were the ones raising their voices. Specifically, the rookies who were on their first business trip to China for training. About twelve of them, all clearly annoyed at being stopped from going out.

“Hey, excuse me. We’re just going to the convenience store right up front. What’s the problem? You told us we could go out with one guard per person when you locked us in here. Why are you going back on your word?”

“We are following the Association’s orders. Please wait inside the hotel until the meeting is convened.”

“Then why won’t you let us? I’m asking!”

No matter how many times they asked, the same parrot-like answer came back. One of the Sahyeon Guild hunters raised his voice, and the atmosphere soured in an instant. The bystanders, caught in the middle, began to gauge the situation and look for a chance to slip away.

Just then, three or four people approached Dokyeom with audible footsteps.

“Ugh, I knew this would happen. I wondered where they’d gone, and here they all are. These youngsters sure are quick-footed.”

“Did they overhear me talking earlier and rush out? I told them to buy stuff at the airport, but they just let it go in one ear and out the other.”

“Tell me about it. Kids these days have wills as stubborn as iron.”

Holding bread and milk, the men spoke as if watching a fire from across the river. As far as Dokyeom knew, these were the middle-ranked hunters of the Sahyeon Guild, who spent their time lounging in the lounge, yawning, checking schedules, or watching the news.

One of them clicked his tongue, then suddenly lowered his gaze toward Dokyeom, as if feeling his stare. He looked for a long while, then noticed another gaze and looked down even further to Dali standing beside Dokyeom. Then he raised his head again and looked at Agon standing on Dokyeom’s left.

At that moment, the hunter’s brow furrowed slightly.

‘Look at that, look at that. The way he’s scanning for a weak spot. Like he’s trying to see right through me.’

Dokyeom couldn’t know his inner thoughts, but from the way he took a step back from Agon, his discomfort was obvious. Yet he quickly downed a gulp of milk and spoke to Dokyeom in a casual tone.
