“Even with 50,000 viewers, how can they snipe an entire match?”
I looked outside the hatch. A sea of people covered the sky. It made me wonder how influential this broadcast really was.
Even the instructor stopped talking and stared outside.
Everywhere I looked, there were people.
I never thought the plane would be this empty.
[– Even if you didn’t know what was happening, if everyone suddenly jumped, you’d follow, lol]
[– But really, there seem to be a lot of snipers.]
[– Why?]
[– No one’s fighting each other after landing, LOLOLOL]
[– Real-time briefing in progress, lol]
“What do you mean no one’s fighting?!”
It seemed like the viewers were mixed in down there. They started explaining the situation below.
Yena was the only one freaking out, yelling at them.
[– Honestly, what are the chances of us meeting a guy?]
“That’s true, isn’t it?”
[– Wow, you agree? Your true character is showing.]
“Just tell me what’s going on!”
Even though she said that, she was probably excited about the potential YouTube and clip content.
Her editor and manager would be sad, though.
[– Capsules don’t even have appearance modification. To have a chance to meet a guy like that? I’d die happy.]
[– I sniped too, but I missed him. Is it even possible for dozens of games to start simultaneously? This game is 5 years old.]
[– We all agreed to check out WooSeok.]
[– Honestly, it’s hard enough to see a guy, but a guy who plays games? And that guy is insanely handsome to boot? ‘Nuff said.]
“Wow. Hearing it like that, I guess I’m really lucky, huh? This is my third game, and you guys, pffft….”
[– ?]
[– I…]
[– Goroshi time! Spread ’em!]
[– Lock]
[– Uh, don’t push…]
“Alright, 298 stragglers. Let’s go get ’em! WooSeok, follow my lead this time!”
“Okay.”
Unintentionally, it had become Viewers vs. Yena & Me.
Following Yena, we landed safely in a secluded spot and started looting, dividing the area between us.
It was the last round, and I hadn’t seen Yena’s play style yet, so I decided to just follow her lead.
Since the viewers jumped right away, we should still have some time. Considering there wasn’t a single soul in this supposedly crowded area.
When I picked up the gun in front of me, I didn’t feel the same thrill as when I picked up the bow.
Still, should I call it fortunate? My senses were sharp enough to spot a car speeding towards us, kicking up dust, before Yena did.
Even without the bow, basic physical abilities and mana control were possible.
“Yena, car!”
“Huh? I can’t hear… Ah! Confirmed!”
We were clearly the first to land. How did they get here so fast?
The vehicle started racing down the street, its engine roaring.
Inside were four women, each with a distinct appearance.
Yena and I hid behind cover, waiting for them to approach.
When Yena saw them, she stood up and started yelling.
“Hey!! This is duos!!”
It seemed they’d chosen a car and just driven off right after landing, without even looting weapons.
Upon spotting us, they started honking like crazy.
The women, except for the driver, opened the windows, leaned out, and yelled at us.
“Wow!! He’s really here!!”
“My life wasn’t in vain!!”
The cheerful honking continued, and they all cheered excitedly.
“My life for WooSeok!!”
The driver then opened the door, jumped out yelling, and the car crashed into the building next to us and exploded.
The log showed four suicides.
Yena froze, still in her yelling pose.
“Are they crazy??”
“Hehehe….”
[– What’s up, WooSeok-nim’s laughing. Bring the next car!!]
[– Traitor! Traitor! They’ve split up and are fighting!]
“WooSeok, we can’t lose to those… those… ! Just trust me and follow!”
Staring at the still-burning car, Yena put on a determined expression and told me to follow her as she moved.
Getting into another abandoned car on the road, she yelled for me to hold on tight, saying she was going to the military base, the opposite side of the map from the tropical area where we landed in the first game.
After driving for a while on a deserted road, we approached the bridge to the military base. I spotted a few women hiding behind cover.
They must have gathered there from the start, waiting for us to pass.
“Yena, two! Behind that yellow wrecked car!”
“I’m not Challenger for nothing!”
Yena seemed to have noticed them too.
Braving the hail of bullets, she forcefully pushed forward.
Yellow sparks flew as the car’s health started to decrease.
“This seems a bit dangerous!! Should I cover you?”
“It’s fine! Don’t worry! I’ll be fine, right??”
The enemy fire was heavier than expected. The front windshield shattered, and smoke started billowing from the engine.
Finally realizing the danger, Yena became less talkative, her grip tightening on the steering wheel.
The smiling doll hanging from the car key shook violently, as if reflecting her anxiety.
Finally, the windshield in front of her shattered completely, and something grazed her cheek.
Yena let out a shriek of madness, but she didn’t let go of the steering wheel.
[– Trying to show off for a guy and messed up, lol]
[– Her eyes look like she’s devoured a few people, lol]
[– If she dies, it’s 1 kill, 3 deaths in 3 games, right? The 1 kill is WooSeok’s, lol]
[– Last round and she’s gonna end up doing nothing, lol]
“Shut up!!”
Even then, she glanced at the chat and yelled, then started muttering, ‘I can do it. I can do it.’
Contrary to her hopes, it was clear we were headed for a car explosion ending.
I was mentally preparing myself when a few quiet, suppressed shots rang out, and the barrage of bullets directed at us lessened.
Though everyone was still targeting us, every time a suppressed shot was heard, the hostility towards us diminished.
*Pick- Pick-*
‘A silencer?’
“Yena! Silencer! Where?”
Each time the quiet shots echoed, one of our attackers would fall from the sky or be found dead behind cover.
Then, I spotted a girl hiding behind a large rock under the bridge, covering us.
“Behind us! Behind that round rock! She’s helping us. Let’s use this chance to cross!”
“Okay!”
As soon as she slammed her foot on the gas pedal, the car roared, and we reached the other side of the bridge.
Quickly abandoning the about-to-explode car, we saw the girl who had covered us waving her arms excitedly.
As if she had intended to help us all along.
She simply greeted us, and I responded.
“Thank you!”
After I shouted my thanks, she covered her mouth with both hands and bowed.
It was a heartwarming scene. It made me realize Yena was quite popular.
I turned to Yena with a fatherly smile, but as soon as I did, a gunshot coincided with the sound of the car exploding.
“Huh?”
The kill log popped up, showing Yena had killed the bowing girl.
I turned to Yena, and she was striking a triumphant pose with her hands on her hips, yelling at the sky.
Debris from the car soared behind her like fireworks, creating a strangely dramatic backdrop, like a scene from a badly made drama.
“Competitor cut!”
Of course, the chat and the mood went to hell at that moment.
[– ? I didn’t see that right, did I?]
[– This streamer offers free kills.]
[– What the… Her character…]
[– This is… Challenger?]
“My gun shines, and my trigger delivers judgment. I gladly avenge and repay hatred with hatred…”
[– Ugh… Cringe…]
[– Has she finally lost it?]
“Let those who spill the blood of others spill their own. That is my will.”
[– Stop at verse one!]
[– Why is she so hyped up today? She’s at full chuuni mode.]
“WooSeok, chicken tonight!”
She turned and said to me, striking a pose.
She was shining brighter than ever.
“Uh, yeah.”
I couldn’t bring myself to criticize her smiling face, so I followed Yena into the military base without a word.
There were a few skirmishes, but Yena’s skills were better than I thought, so we were able to loot and secure a position easily.
A Challenger is a Challenger, even when rusty?
She was always good, though.
Fortunately, the final circle was on our side, so we just had to defend.
Even though it wasn’t a bow, my enhanced senses allowed me to handle guns almost as well as Yena.
Though the bow is still the best.
“WooSeok, you’re surprisingly good with guns?”
“Yeah, I guess so. It’s more fun than I thought.”
My enhanced senses and improved physique allowed for a new play style. I couldn’t believe it myself.
I was clenching and unclenching my fists, replaying the previous battle in my mind when Yena hesitantly spoke.
“Um… maybe next time, we could stream together…”
However, before she could finish, red flares shot up into the sky with loud bangs.
The problem was, there wasn’t just one flare. Countless planes began to arrive, presumably to drop supplies.
As the loud engine noise of the planes grew closer, numerous vehicles began to converge on the military base.
“They saved that for the late game?!”
“WooSeok!! Your girl’s here!!”
Headlights from the cars flooded our building, followed by the cheers of women who had climbed on top of them.
Car horns began to play in a rhythmic unison, and a few vehicles, unable to contain their excitement, crashed into the first floor of our building.
The cars that crashed exploded immediately, and the explosions began to chain react, causing the door Yena had barricaded to crack open.
Their unity was incredible. They moved like a well-trained army!!
“Prepare to breach! Kill the women, but treat any men with respect!!”
“Down with Choi Yena!!”
From ghillie suits to military uniforms, they were fully equipped. How did they manage to get fully geared up in such a short time?
Concept players maybe? They formed teams, armed to the teeth, and started entering the building.
Watching them enter with a disciplined, almost anti-terrorist unit-like formation, Yena shouted.
“This is duos, you crazy bitches!!!!”
