The phosphorescent green glow within the wooden cabin had already faded.

Elder Sylph, shielding Aali and Manrot, watched Qi Lin with a tense expression, his eyes unfocused.

“Elder, Qi Lin isn’t going to be alright, is he? Why hasn’t he woken up after all this time?”

Aali, a half-elf who had brought Qi Lin to Mandar Town, gazed at him with worried eyes.

“I don’t know,” Elder Sylph replied, her gaze complex as she looked at Qi Lin.

“If this young one truly doesn’t awaken, there’s nothing we can do but pray to the gods for his recovery.”

After all, she was the one who had brought him to this state.

Under the varied gazes of the three, Qi Lin’s scattered eyes slowly began to focus.

Aali, whose expression and gaze were intently fixed on Qi Lin, was the first to notice.

“Look, Qi Lin is awake!”

Her exclamation, like a stone dropped into still water, snapped Elder Sylph and Manrot out of their distracted thoughts about how to rouse Qi Lin.

With a slight flutter of his eyelashes, Qi Lin closed his eyes before opening them again.

“What… happened to me?” Qi Lin asked, feigning ignorance.

After all, he couldn’t possibly tell them what had truly occurred; his condition was a secret.

Furthermore, he had no idea if Bloodline existed in this world, whether they were benevolent or malevolent.

If they were malevolent, his situation could become dire.

Elder Sylph looked at the awakened Qi Lin, her taut heart instantly relaxing.

“That’s wonderful! You’re awake!”

“So, what happened to me? And what exactly occurred?”

“Ah, we’re not entirely sure ourselves,” Elder Sylph sighed, pressing her lips together.

“In any case, I’m at a loss regarding your amnesia.”

Hearing this, Qi Lin nodded.

“It’s alright. If it can’t be cured, then so be it. I’ll just let my memories return naturally!”

Qi Lin, who had already prepared his excuse, spoke accordingly.

Aali placed her left fist over her chest, saying apologetically, “It seems that’s the only way.”

Manrot remained silent, merely nodding in agreement with Qi Lin’s words, his heart heavy.

Although Elder Sylph was relieved that Qi Lin had awakened, her mood remained somewhat somber.

After all, as an Elder of the elven race, it was humbling to encounter a malady she couldn’t cure.

‘There are still ailments in this world that I cannot heal!’ she mused inwardly.

‘It seems I cannot allow myself to languish any longer.’

Sensing the awkward atmosphere, Qi Lin parted his lips slightly, then closed them again.

In this situation, he found himself at a loss for words.

Upon reflection, he decided it would be best to say something.

“Well, you really don’t have to be like this,” he began.

“If it can’t be cured, it just can’t. Perhaps if you tell me about this world, I might recall who I am?”

Swallowing his conscience, Qi Lin spoke at length.

Hearing Qi Lin’s words, Elder Sylph and the others exchanged glances before nodding.

Qi Lin was right; what good was it for them to wallow like this?

It was truly time to pull themselves together.

“Qi Lin, thank you!”

“Don’t worry, we will definitely help you remember!”

The three of them vowed in turn.

Hearing this, Qi Lin’s heart twitched.

He desperately wanted to tell them, ‘You really don’t have to go to such lengths; if you just tell me about this world, I might just “remember” everything.’

Naturally, these thoughts remained unspoken.

The somber mood was suddenly broken as Aali furrowed her brow.

Qi Lin, with his keen eyes, noticed Aali’s sudden frown and asked, “What’s wrong, Aali?”

“Ah? No, nothing at all,” Aali replied, shaking her head and relaxing her brow, indicating it was nothing.

‘Yet, a strange feeling lingered within her,’ she mused.

‘Why did Qi Lin’s short hair seem to have grown a little longer? And… why did Qi Lin feel somewhat feminized?’

‘It must be a delusion, right?’

“Everyone, I apologize, but since things have come to this, please return for now!”

“What’s happening?” Qi Lin asked, puzzled by Elder Sylph’s sudden dismissal.

“I… I need to consult the records left by our ancestors,” Elder Sylph stated, looking earnestly at Aali and the others.

“I want to see if I can find a new method to treat your amnesia.”

She was determined.

Even though Qi Lin had suggested he could recover his memories by finding familiar things in the world, she was resolved to find a cure or a spell for his condition.

Of course, if Qi Lin regained his memories by exploring the world before she found a cure, she would still endeavor to discover a new treatment for amnesia.

This was to prevent future instances where she might encounter others with amnesia, like Qi Lin, whom she couldn’t heal.

By finding a new method, there would be a new solution path available if someone like Qi Lin appeared again in the future.

Qi Lin blinked, realizing he couldn’t deter Elder Sylph’s resolve.

He could only offer her encouragement.

“You can do it! We believe in you, Elder,” Aali affirmed, agreeing with Elder Sylph’s approach.

With nothing left to say, their conversation concluded.

Manrot led the way out of the wooden cabin.

Seeing this, Aali also bid her farewell.

The moment they stepped out of the cabin, they immediately saw several elves, armed with long spears, running towards them.

“What’s wrong? Why are you so flustered?”

After the two elves reached their side, Manrot immediately struck his staff against the ground, producing a thudding sound, then spoke.

“N-no good, they… *cough, cough*… they’re back again!” a slightly older elf exclaimed anxiously, leaning on his spear and letting out a long breath.

Qi Lin, the only outsider, asked in confusion, “They? Who are ‘they’?”

However, no elf answered Qi Lin’s question.

Upon hearing the older elf’s words, Manrot’s eyes widened, and he immediately ran back towards Elder Sylph’s cabin.

The elves carrying spears quickly followed Manrot, leaving Qi Lin alone, watching them run off with a bewildered expression.

As for Aali, while Qi Lin stood bewildered, she followed them back to Elder Sylph’s cabin.

“So… what exactly is going on?” Qi Lin wondered, scratching his head in confusion.

However, calming himself, he soon realized what it might be.

The only thing that could throw them into such a panic was likely an enemy attack, right? Qi Lin surmised.

‘Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth!’

Recalling the words of a great person, Qi Lin decided it would be better to go and see for himself.

Acting on his thought, Qi Lin, having gained some Bloodline knowledge and now possessing self-defense capabilities, immediately ran in the direction from which the spear-wielding elves had come.

After running for a few seconds, Qi Lin noticed that his movements felt significantly lighter.

Indeed, one was a different individual after acquiring Bloodline knowledge compared to before, even if it was merely common Bloodline lore.

Pondering the Bloodline common sense in his mind, Qi Lin recalled an innate Bloodline ability.

After glancing around at the elves, who had disappeared, Qi Lin activated the Bloodline demonic energy within him according to the knowledge in his mind.

As he ran, Qi Lin instantly transformed into a swarm of small, dark red bats.

The bats flapped their wings, circling joyfully in the sky, then swiftly flew into the distance.

‘The thrill of flight!’ Qi Lin exclaimed joyously in his mind as he soared.

Flying out of Mandar Town, Qi Lin reached a spot not far from the outskirts of the Firefly Forest, where he witnessed the culprits behind the spear-wielding elves’ panic.

Enormous, upright turtles, like enlarged versions of their kind, roared and spewed flames, causing lush green trees to ignite fiercely and then crash to the ground with a resounding boom.

Each of these turtles stood four to five meters tall, with sharp, pointed horns protruding from their foreheads.

Their shells were covered in finger-thick barbs, and their skin was green, some a deep, dark green.

Their tails were thick and powerful, appearing to be half their body length.

“These are what caused the elves to panic? They don’t seem very strong…” Qi Lin muttered to himself, flapping his wings as he landed on a large tree branch.
