“Information has come from the Bureau; the Sky Eye has detected a new spatial rift, appearing right here, and this one is particularly intense.”

Aali’s expression grew solemn, meeting their questioning gazes.

After a moment of silence, the two exchanged glances.

In each other’s eyes, they both discerned two words: retreat!

However, before retreating, they had to take the boy still kneeling on the ground.

Lu Ren nodded at Zhao Suyan, then strode towards Qi Lin, preparing to lead him away.

Yet, no sooner had he taken a single step than he froze.

A wisp of breeze suddenly stirred, then violently transformed into a raging gale.

The trees, flowers, and grasses planted throughout the park shook under the fierce winds, rustling loudly.

“What’s happening? Why is this wind so strong?”

His path obstructed by the unequivocally abnormal gale, the towering Lu Ren shielded his face, his voice booming forth.

If he didn’t shout, Zhao Suyan and the others would not be able to hear what he was saying.

Under the tempestuous, tornado-like winds, everyone found themselves in a precarious state, barely able to fend for themselves.

Her robes whipping wildly in the gale, Li Sijia gazed up at the sky above the park, shouting, “It’s the rift! The spatial rift has appeared! This eerie wind must be emanating from it!”

Hearing Li Sijia’s words, Lu Ren looked up.

A black rift had appeared above the park at some unknown point.

“No, we must retreat. This spatial rift isn’t right.”

Zhao Suyan stared at the rift, his tone grave.

Typically, spatial rifts don’t possess the power to induce such significant meteorological shifts.

“But what about that guy?”

Hearing Zhao Suyan’s concern, Lu Ren frowned, looking at Qi Lin, who was closest to the rift.

But soon, Lu Ren’s worry dissipated.

A powerful suction emanated from within the rapidly shrinking rift, and the rampaging gale, like soldiers answering a general’s summons, swept up trees from the park and pulled them towards the fissure.

Among them was Qi Lin, who, incapacitated by a throbbing heart, offered no resistance… or rather, the vampire.

Before everyone’s astonished gaze, Qi Lin vanished into the rift, disappearing from the park ravaged by the tempest.

High above the cerulean sky, a fissure abruptly materialized, only to vanish as if it had never been, after expelling several large trees.

Were it not for the colossal trees scattered across the ground, serving as irrefutable proof, perhaps no one would have ever known such a miraculous rift had appeared.

With a resounding splash, a figure plummeted from the heavens, landing squarely in a tranquil lake.

On the lakeshore, a Maiden, clad in green attire and holding a fishing rod, stared in utter disbelief as the figure plunged from the sky into the water.

After several minutes passed without the figure resurfacing, the Maiden instantly realized someone was drowning.

Discarding her fishing rod, the Maiden boldly leapt into the lake, swimming towards where the figure had fallen.

Taking a deep breath and holding it, the Maiden dove beneath the surface.

After a while, the Maiden resurfaced, pulling a person towards the shore.

“Thank goodness, they’re still breathing!”

After checking for a pulse and confirming the presence of breath, the Maiden immediately began resuscitation.

A faint, fluorescent green glow emanated from her palm.

Placing her left hand on the chest of the person she was saving and her right hand atop her left, the Maiden slowly closed her eyes.

After several minutes, the Maiden opened her eyes and withdrew her hands.

Under the Maiden’s watchful gaze, the silver-haired child expelled a mouthful of lake water before weakly opening his eyes.

Seeing the boy awaken, the Maiden beamed with a radiant smile.

“Wonderful! You’re awake!”

“Cough, cough, you… cough, cough, who are you?”

Coughing, Qi Lin sat up, one hand clutching his chest, the other pressing against the ground.

He looked at the Maiden before him, who had green hair, green eyes, and even wore green clothes, and asked.

“My name is Aali.

I was just fishing here when I saw you fall from the sky into the lake and not resurface for a long time.

So, I rescued you.”

Aali narrowed her eyes, tilting her head as she chuckled.

Gazing at Aali, Qi Lin was momentarily stunned, his mind exclaiming, ‘How adorable!’

“Hey? What’s wrong?”

Aali asked, puzzled by Qi Lin’s stare.

Hearing her voice, Qi Lin snapped back to reality.

“Ah, cough, cough, ah, hello! Oh, right, my name is Qi Lin!”

“Qi Lin? Hmm, alright, Qi Lin, it’s a pleasure to meet you!”

Qi Lin nodded repeatedly, but soon he came to a realization.

His voice seemed a little childish, and his clothes were somewhat too large, revealing his shoulders!

Something was amiss, terribly amiss!

He hastily adjusted his clothes to cover his shoulders, then slowly made his way to the lakeshore to peer into the water.

Reflected in the lake’s surface, Qi Lin discovered that the hair he had lost after transforming into a vampire had returned, though it was no longer black but a head of silvery-white short hair.

His face and height had also changed, appearing much more delicate than before.

Blinking his light red eyes, Qi Lin recalled certain novels he had read, then immediately touched himself down there.

Feeling that it was still present, he breathed a sigh of relief.

“Phew, good, it’s still there.”

“What’s still there?”

Aali asked, walking up beside Qi Lin, perplexed.

“Ah? Ah, nothing.

By the way, where is this place?”

Qi Lin quickly changed the subject after a startled exclamation.

Aali scratched her forehead, a hint of confusion on her face.

Hearing Qi Lin’s question, she replied, “Oh? You’re asking where this is? This is the outskirts of the Fluorescent Forest of Canradi.”

Upon hearing this, Qi Lin paused, then stroked his chin, lost in thought.

A fugitive, pursued, a throbbing heart, a raging storm, a rift, being sucked in, and then appearing here.

Combining this with the words of those who were chasing him, it seemed he had… transmigrated?

Raising his head to look at Aali, the Maiden standing a few steps away, Qi Lin could confirm it: he had truly transmigrated.

Moreover, his height and facial features had changed… His height, by rough estimate, was probably only around one point five meters…

Oh, and the dark red wings that had suddenly sprouted when his heart was throbbing…

Qi Lin immediately turned his head to look behind him.

Upon realizing the wings had vanished, he let out a sigh of relief.

‘Thankfully they’re gone; otherwise, I wouldn’t know how this person would view me.

After all, someone with wings hardly seems human,’ he mused inwardly, glancing at Aali.

“By the way, little brother Qi Lin…”

Seeing Qi Lin glance at her, Aali suddenly remembered something and was about to ask, but she was interrupted before she could pose her question.

“No, who are you calling ‘little brother’?”

Qi Lin fumed at being called such.

Aali blinked, then walked over to Qi Lin and used her hand to compare their heights.

Indeed, Qi Lin was now a head shorter than Aali.

At this, Qi Lin felt a strange surge of shame.

“See, see? You’re shorter than me, so you must be younger.”

Looking up at Aali, Qi Lin asked in a hushed voice, “…How old are you?”

He intended to compete on age.

In any case, he refused to be the ‘little brother’!

“Me? How old? Hmm… probably over fifty! After all, I’m a half-elf.”

Qi Lin’s eyes widened, a flicker of unease crossing his face.

This person was decades older than him; calling him ‘little brother’… actually seemed quite fitting…

“What’s wrong?”

Aali asked, touching her lips, puzzled by Qi Lin’s silence.

Hearing her, Qi Lin snapped back.

“Ah, nothing.

Call me whatever you like.

I… I really am younger than you…”

“Ah? Ah, mhm, alright!”

Aali nodded, then remembering her earlier confusion, asked, “By the way, how did you fall from the sky? And where are you from?”

Hearing Aali’s words, Qi Lin pressed his lips together.

“Right, Aali, I wanted to ask… um, where on the continent is this place?”

“Hmm? Here? Didn’t I just say?

This is the Fluorescent Forest of the Canradi Continent,” Aali replied, a hint of confusion and bewilderment in her voice.

“Ah, the Fluorescent Forest of the Canradi Continent, is it…”

Qi Lin chuckled awkwardly, his heart growing anxious.

How was he supposed to answer Aali’s questions?
