Chapter 17: The Man Who Dug Through Ashes

His swollen c*ck pierced deep inside her.

“Ah- hng, ahhh, ngh! Ah! Aaah!”

Her throat had already gone hoarse from crying out all night, yet somehow more m*ans kept spilling out. The wanton, trembling voice didn’t even sound like her own. It sounded like the voice of some unfamiliar woman she had never heard before.

“You really feel it more when you can’t see, huh?”

“Hngh! Hk, hng!”

She clutched the blanket so hard her knuckles hurt, one cheek pressed into the bedding as she m*aned. The only thing she could feel now was the relentless th*usting inside her.

A large hand gripped her hips tightly. The movement scraping along her inner walls burned like sparks. Her thoughts crackled and scattered.

“But how do you know my name?”

“I memorized it.”

“Then how do you know my phone number?”

“Memorized that too.”

“Oh, stop joking.”

“Quit arguing, kid. We need to go see your room. Aren’t you curious about your room?”

It still felt as though she were wandering through a dream. As if she were having an indecent dream about the man who had once asked her name. Back then, even stealing glances at his sleeping face had embarrassed her. What she was doing now felt impossibly shameless.

The man she had never been allowed to have, not even allowed to imagine having, was moving inside her.

Her body clenched tightly.

The man she had secretly wanted.

The man who had willingly dug through ashes trying to find her.

She remembered seeing his broken fingernails when he had taken her hand. Then she had understood how desperately he had searched for her after hearing that faint ringtone buried beneath the rubble.

How desperately he had searched for a girl who had meant nothing to him.

“You’re spacing out. Pay attention.”

In the same voice as that man from her memories, Chae Ju-han gripped her hips even harder. Possessively, as if claiming her as his own, he held her waist firmly and drove into her.

“Ah!”

Her sensitive body trembled violently. She sucked in a breath and clutched the blanket, but Chae Ju-han showed no mercy. Twisting his hips, he stroked against her until she shuddered helplessly.

His large hand grabbed the back of her neck and lifted her up. The moment her upper body lost all support, he th*ust deep into her again.

“Ah! Hk! P-please… be gentle.”

“Gentle? You expect that from me?”

As though mocking her plea, Chae Ju-han pulled out almost completely before th*usting back in.

“Ah! Ngh!”

“You should’ve just asked me to date you. That would’ve been easier.”

“Hngh!”

“Be honest. You like it rough.”

As if determined to torment every sensitive part of her, he only became rougher. Her hair stood on end. Her chest swayed helplessly in the air. He drove into her without restraint.

The act itself felt so vulgar that she almost felt guilty.

“Go Yi-jae. What’s my name?”

The man who knew nothing of gentleness whispered against her ear.

“Ch-Chae Ju-han- ah!”

As though rewarding her answer, he thrust deep again. He bent her over and pounded into her, shaking her entire body. Her stiff n*pples scraped against the blanket, painful and electric all at once.

He moved faster.

“Ahhh! Ah- ah! Hah! Ah!”

The m*ans she couldn’t suppress filled the tiny room. Their ragged breathing and the obscene sounds of their bodies became the only sounds in the world.

The wet slapping noises were so vulgar that hearing them only made her more aware of how indecent this all was. Somehow, not being able to see made it feel even more intense.

She could feel every vein and ridge dragging against her. The overwhelming pleasure of the rounded head pressing deep and then pulling back out drove her to struggle against him.

But Chae Ju-han didn’t let her go.

She had to endure every bit of it.

Panting, clutching at him, she twisted desperately, trying to bear it somehow.

“Ah!”

“Damn. You’re squeezing everything out of me.”

Holding her trembling body in place, Chae Ju-han drove into her one final time.

The speed of it made tears stream down her face. The unbearable pleasure crushed her thoughts. Her hands and feet clenched and trembled uncontrollably.

“S-stop! Please! I can’t- ahh! I can’t do this!”

“I know. Damn. Me neither.”

The th*usting stopped only when he buried himself as deep as possible. Like a legendary sword driven into stone, he remained inside her and pulled her body tightly against his.

Even through her dazed state, she could feel how hard he was holding her.

As though they had always been one body.

As though, if they melted together, they would become one again.

Eventually, their breathing fell into the same rhythm. Their hearts pounded loudly through the skin pressed together.

“Funny, isn’t it? We’ve done this before, but somehow it feels even better.”

What kind of s*x had that man had?

Had he been as relentless and overwhelming as Chae Ju-han?

Or had he been gentle, just as he had once been with her?

She would never know.

The only thing she knew for certain was that Chae Ju-han would never be gentle.

“…Take it out.”

“Were you waiting for that? Poor thing, it’ll be lonely.”

“Hurry.”

The dizzy feeling of secretly making love to the man from her dreams faded, and reality returned.

She had to push Chae Ju-han away.

She couldn’t allow herself to confuse him with the man she remembered.

That was the only way she could protect herself.

“Can’t do that. I don’t like losing even a second.”

“What does that mean?”

“The moment I pull out, you’ll start counting those seventy-two hours.”

“Of course I will.”

“Set an alarm. Seventy-two hours.”

That was the only promise between them.

Was Chae Ju-han trying to break it again?

Hadn’t spending the entire night together been enough?

Go Yi-jae pushed at him.

“Take it out first, then I’ll find my phone.”

“Fine. Let’s find your phone.”

“Huh? Okay!”

Still holding her in his arms, Chae Ju-han stood up and opened the door to the tiny room.

As he ducked through the doorway, the movement shifted inside her.

“Ah!”

The sudden light blinded her, and because he supported her under her knees while her hips hung lower, she felt him sink even deeper.

“Hngh…”

She m*aned for several seconds before realizing he had stopped moving.

She was in the flower shop, still in his arms, legs spread wide.

“N-no.”

She had never been held like this before, and the shop’s large glass windows made her shrink with embarrassment. Fortunately, the blinds were still closed from the previous day.

“Put me down.”

“No.”

Carrying her around as though searching for her phone, Chae Ju-han wandered through the flower shop. Every movement shifted inside her, making her arch her back and whimper. Tears gathered in her eyes.

“Please… hurry. I- I can’t…”

“You’re crying.”

Finally, he stopped.

Her phone sat in the corner of the worktable, surrounded by damaged flowers.

“Hng…”

Even reaching for it made her body react. Holding her breath, she stretched out her hand.

She still couldn’t reach it.

“Want help?”

“Hk…”

He adjusted his grip, lifting her higher until she could grab it.

She managed to seize the phone.

After shifting her again, he held her steady while she struggled to set the alarm, fighting through the overwhelming sensations.

Only after she showed him the alarm did he finally put her down.

“Ahhh…”

After being joined together for so long, the feeling of separation left her weak and shivering.

She braced herself against the worktable. Her legs trembled too much to carry her back to the tiny room.

“Damn, it’s cold.”

The flower shop was chilly, especially with the large refrigeration units.

“You live here?”

He looked around the shop with obvious dissatisfaction.

She knew exactly how he saw it.

She had been to his house.

No, she had lived there.

Compared to his world, this place was old, worn out, and shabby.

“It looks like you.”
