“Justice Descends!”
My three tails stiffened on either side, extending from my coccyx, aligning firmly to form two snowy, plush wings!
These broad tails allowed me to spiral downwards around the mountain like a glider, accelerating my descent!
Simultaneously, my other three tail tips continuously whipped and scattered, raining waves of small peas, hidden amongst my fur, down upon the crowds below!
“It truly has been… a long time since I’ve glided so joyfully, scattering my offerings.”
The right time, the right place, and the right people — or perhaps, the lack thereof.
Each of these elements was a crucial factor a killer had to consider when executing a mission; likewise, when a killer found themselves in a desperate situation, they had to seek out a miracle, however improbable, from every impossibility surrounding them!
A truly successful killer wasn’t necessarily a master of computer technology, nor did they always possess pinpoint marksmanship.
Often, they merely possessed the keenest eyes, adept at discovering every exploitable advantage in their surroundings!
This was a mandatory lesson for the ninjas of the Eastern Isles, and indeed, for all killers across the world!
That a single blade of grass, a mere tree, a flower, or a leaf could be used to kill was no exaggeration!
An overwhelming deluge of peas erupted from the mountaintop, scattering and raining down upon the ground, completely engulfing an area of six hundred meters around the entire peak!
It enveloped Yujian Lin’s entire assembled army of players as well!
“A meteor shower…”
The players below had even forgotten to make a final struggle; countless individuals, in the last second before their screens faded to black and white, whispered these three words.
A magnificent natural spectacle, yet when a meteor shower roared down, trailing brilliant long tails, hurtling densely towards one’s face, this breathtaking sight also ignited an overwhelming sense of insignificance and terror that made even moving their feet incredibly difficult!
Even if someone remembered to flee, they failed to find any cover around the small mountain, even as the meteor shower struck their forehead, piercing them from head to toe!
So that was it.
Yujian Lin instantly felt completely numb, every single neuron losing all sensation.
It was over, utterly over.
It turned out that his forces hadn’t, by dint of numerical superiority, driven the opponent up the mountain to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff.
Rather, this was a long-planned trap by the opponent, a scheme to take on a hundred with one!
It wasn’t his group that had forced her to a dead end; instead, *she* had led his entire guild to their doom!
Just ten minutes prior, they had cornered the opponent in this very clearing, nearly blasting them to smithereens.
Yet, ten minutes later, the situation had completely reversed: this open, exposed ground, devoid of any cover to evade spells, had become their burial site!
The opponent was retaliating in kind!
Leveraging their height advantage and area-of-effect projectile skills, they instantly repaid the barrage of spells that Yujian Lin’s group had launched just ten minutes earlier!
The [Holy Light Blessing] skill enchantment dealt more damage the greater the distance, and the opponent had, astonishingly, created this distance through a method no one else could have conceived!
The mountain stood over three hundred meters tall.
This meant the opponent’s pea-throwing distance… was over three hundred meters!
Within one hundred meters, an additional 10% spell damage was applied; beyond one hundred meters, every additional meter increased the character’s spell damage by 2%.
This meant that at three hundred meters, there was over a 410% spell damage bonus!
That was more than four times, nearly five times, the damage!
Not only did these peas rain down like bullets from the sky, with virtually every single one striking someone’s head, smashing them clean through, but even if they didn’t hit a vital spot, this fivefold damage was enough to instantly kill everyone except defensive-class warriors!
What was even more terrifying and despair-inducing was that this nine-tailed fox possessed an astonishingly high base magical attack!
[Precise Strike -352] [-176] [-175] [Precise Strike -350]
Every single pea, even without triggering a weak point strike or critical hit, dealt a base damage of 175!
This implied the opponent’s base magical attack was around 35!
Even if a pet’s base stats were 1.5 times that of a player, this opponent was merely a Level 2 pet, yet it already possessed the magical attack power of a Level 7 or 8 player!
It was horrifying!
Yet… she should have been *his* divine pet, Yujian Lin’s!
Why!
Why had he, despite mobilizing the entire guild, failed to capture her!
Yujian Lin’s gaze, filled with indignation, resentment, and greed, locked onto me.
Though I couldn’t see him, an inexplicable wave of nausea washed over me.
“Motherf****r! Why does it feel like I’ve been licked by a toad! Arghhh, Justice Descends! Justice Descends! Justice Descends! Justice Descends!”
Justice Descends! Justice Descends! Justice Descends! Justice Descends! Justice Descends! Justice Descends! Justice Descends! Justice Descends!
The sky roared with justice, and the entire mountain was covered in its holy light.
I adjusted my descent with my tails, thoroughly surveying every corner of the mountain.
The player army below tried to hide, but to their horror, they discovered that even with every ounce of their strength, they wouldn’t be able to escape this open grave before the holy light descended.
The forest nearby, reachable in mere seconds, had been ignored by all of them previously; now, however, it felt an impossible distance away.
Counterattack?
Not only could the mages’ skills not reach such heights, but merely looking up at the dense rain of peas under the moonlight was enough to extinguish any thought of retaliation.
Wave after wave of projectiles rained down, instantly shattering the defenseless player army.
The game’s realistic physics engine was both endearing and infuriating; though I could adjust my glide direction with my tails, my descent speed continued to accelerate.
If I were to crash into the ground, I would still inevitably be smashed to smithereens…
Naturally, I wasn’t eager to enter the black-and-white screen prematurely.
At this point, only a completely stripped Yujian Lin remained on the ground, kneeling in despair, gazing up at me as if beholding a divine miracle.
The dozen or so handfuls of peas I had casually plucked along the way were now depleted, leaving only a single pea resting quietly between my thumb and forefinger.
The Holy Light Blessing caused the pea to crackle, its surface shimmering with a bright white holy light, akin to lightning.
“Bzzzt… crackle… Bzzzt… crackle… boom!”
A snow-white rainbow descended from the heavens!
Like a divine punishment from beyond the stars, it shot into Yujian Lin’s wide-open mouth, burst forth from his anus, and slammed into the ground!
It blasted a massive crater into the earth, piercing him straight through!
[CRITICAL HIT! PRECISE STRIKE! -700!]
[You have died. You were killed by player Ning Beibei in self-defense. As you carried an excessive amount of murderous intent, the opponent will gain 1% of your total experience, along with 5 reputation and 5 chivalry points.]
I pressed a finger to the back of the beast ear on my head and sent a voice message to Yingning: “Ground targets neutralized! Air Force One, over!”
Meanwhile, atop the cliff, Yingning’s exquisite one-handed sword sliced through the throat of the last assassin.
In that moment, an ineffable understanding spontaneously arose within our hearts.
It was akin to the familial bond of blood relatives, yet also like the camaraderie of comrades who had faced life and death together.
Yingning let out a long, pent-up breath she had held for too long, then smiled and spoke: “Tails swept clean. Ground Force One, over!”
[All members of the declared war party have been eliminated. You have exited combat status.]
“Dismiss Summon!”
