Join the ServerRed Water Dragons typically range from 5 to 20 meters in height and 10 to 40 meters in length, weighing between 700 KG and 5000 KG. These draconic creatures, classified under the Scaled Horned order, prefer secluded, well-watered wetland habitats. The horns adorning their heads are capable of discharging lightning, a fearsome ability they utilize to stun underwater fish, making them easy prey.
Su Yingning and I sat side-by-side, panting heavily as we recovered our strength. Seizing the brief respite, Su Yingning opened her bestiary to scrutinize the Red Water Dragon’s detailed profile.
Furthermore, the sharp horns on their heads are frequently employed against larger prey. Red Water Dragons propel themselves through the water at near-supersonic speeds, using sheer momentum to impale their targets. To facilitate tearing their victims apart, these horns are riddled with countless tiny, sharp barbs that can retract and extend. Once a creature is pierced, the barbs splay open, relentlessly tearing at the flesh until the wound becomes a mangled, gaping chasm.
‘That burly warrior is truly pitiful…’
‘This is far beyond a simple ‘sunflower’ situation now…’
‘Those barbs, those dreadful barbs! Wouldn’t that cause a prolapse? Their intestines would surely be dragged out!’
‘And yet, the healer over there is still desperately trying to mend him, his wounds continuously healing, tearing, healing, tearing…’
‘How utterly pathetic. I almost don’t have the heart to target this guild now!’
Since Su Yingning had altered her appearance and ID, and I had retracted my eight tails, the surrounding Sword Sweeping the World players hadn’t recognized us. On the contrary, they treated us with exceptional cordiality.
“The Guild Leader mentioned that once the BOSS is defeated, they’d like you to take some time to participate in the elite team assessment… Congratulations!” Black Mirror Healer stood with his hands on his hips, roaring with hearty laughter. “We truly owe you our thanks just now! I never would have imagined your skills were so formidable; to endure a purple-named World BOSS twenty levels above you for so long, clad only in green gear, is astonishing. If not for your intervention, we would have lost at least thirty more people during that last small burst of damage. Keep in mind, this mountain hollow is quite small, and we only brought in a total of 1500 people.”
Su Yingning merely scoffed, offering no reply, maintaining her aloof demeanor. Given the profound blood feud between her and Sword Sweeping the World, it was already a testament to her resolve that she could momentarily set aside her animosity to infiltrate with me. Surrounded by enemies who haunted her sleepless nights, even with her robust psychological fortitude, her mood was far from pleasant.
“You flatter us, Big Brother~” I said, lowering my head shyly as I took over the conversation. “It was merely good fortune. Perhaps this big fellow showed us mercy. Every time the lightning struck, it terrified me, but she always seemed to miss…”
“Luck, you say?” Black Mirror Healer paid no mind to Su Yingning’s dismissive attitude; after all, it would be strange if a beauty of her caliber didn’t possess a touch of individuality. He shook his head. “Far too modest! Just look at those fellows in the arena—the BOSS’s lightning strikes them true every single time. Dozens have already fallen in this short span. If these fools still can’t grasp the BOSS’s lightning release frequency, we might have to trouble you two to demonstrate, or perhaps even become the main tanks… Ugh, these embarrassing failures in the warrior division!”
Black Mirror Healer sighed, pressing a hand to his forehead in exasperation, though in truth, the gesture was merely a forced attempt to tear his gaze away from my face.
‘What do I even look like? I haven’t even seen myself yet!’
‘Watching these innocent young men from the opposing faction become utterly captivated by me, I couldn’t decide whether to be pleased or to lament.’
Sword Sweeping the World truly lived up to its reputation as a top-ten guild globally. Most of those participating in this hunting operation were elite players from within the guild. While they might not rival the top-tier experts who absorbed the majority of the guild’s resources in the elite team, they were nonetheless among the upper echelon of players.
Their damage output was impressive; even with players ranging from level 10 to 20, they had whittled the level 30 BOSS down to its final strands of health.
Its health bar had now plummeted to twenty percent.
“Should we fall back a little?” Black Mirror Healer inquired through the guild channel.
“There’s usually no burst at twenty percent… Have half the team continue damage, and the other half fall back, remaining vigilant,” Jiangu mused, stroking his chin. “My concern lies with its death throes once it hits ten percent health. This particular Red Water Dragon is the first of its kind discovered on the continent of Aethel, and also the first purple-quality BOSS. While the first-kill rewards are undoubtedly bountiful, danger and opportunity walk hand-in-hand. We must be prepared at all times to face its true counterattack.”
Black Mirror Healer hummed in agreement.
“Moreover, for a level 30 BOSS, its current displayed power seems a little too weak, far below what I had imagined… As a purple-named World BOSS in its thirties, its basic attacks can’t even instantly kill that female warrior clad in green gear. This doesn’t align with the game’s ‘effort equals reward’ mechanism. I suspect a terrifying trap awaits us next!”
Just as the two of them were gravely discussing these important matters in the guild channel, another management-level member, also with speaking privileges, interjected into the conversation.
It was a weak, trembling voice, as if its owner had been utterly spent, perhaps ‘visited’ dozens of times by ten thousand burly men.
