Join the ServerThis heart-pounding battle felt like a lifetime ago. I recalled my past life, dismantling an aircraft carrier with bare hands amidst a storm of bullets and shells—truly exhilarating!
However, my physical stats and gear back then were far superior to what I have now. Today’s danger is even greater, for my life hangs on the data. I appear to be battling a boss, but in truth, I’m wrestling with the numbers.
The whole fight boils down to numbers. Knowing the boss’s maximum burst damage and sustained DPS, I can compare with my recovery, stamina, and damage output to calculate whether I can win.
I had previously estimated the boss’s stats for Hard mode Spider Nest, multiplying by two. The conclusion was: as long as the boss couldn’t kill me in one hit and I didn’t make any rookie errors causing uncontrollable variables, I could grind it down.
And it worked. Though the boss’s sudden attacks caught me off guard a few times, nearly one-shotting me and forcing resets, I mostly came out ahead, steadily lowering its health.
This was all thanks to my pet identity—the absurdly overpowered pet attributes.
No one had ever imagined that pets could act autonomously. The 1.5x stats, massive healing, and learnable damage skills combined into a terrifying concoction, turning the very concept of a pet into an absolute bug.
It landed right on the edge of soloing capability, just half a notch above the line.
And that half-notch decided the battle’s outcome.
Having absorbed the whole boss’s experience, I dinged and shot up to level 38.
Next came the loot roll… Unfortunately, only a single light-purple pauldron—cloth armor, usable by mages and priests.
Good stats, with a level 3 Lightning Bolt attached. But my own pauldron far surpasses it, so I’ll sell it.
My current pauldron grants a mana regen skill—much more vital.
If not for the inability to swap gear mid-combat, I’d carry a backpack of equipment with attack skills. I could just yell and vaporize the boss. But alas, not possible.
No time to waste. I sat down, ate bread, drank water to restore stamina, and brought fatigue back to white.
White indicated low, red high, and bright red full. I had just fought the boss at full fatigue—back aching, eyelids heavy, brain pounding. I’d rather not recall it, but there was no helping it. Solo runs were too intense; I’d have to feel this weariness several more times.
I steeled myself and retrieved the blue crystal. On Hard mode, the center pillar held a blue crystal rather than green. By that logic, Hell mode should have purple.
Smashed the blue crystal, took out the bestiary, and aimed at the third boss.
[Spider Queen’s Water Elemental Clone]
[Attribute: Water, Ghost Level 43]
I was blissfully unaware of the upheaval outside—Gunfire Rose on the verge of destruction—as I pressed on with my boss-slaying quest…
Just like this super S-class nine-tailed fox, I wanted to give the little girl a surprise.
Of course, also a surprise for Sword Sweeping the World and those big guilds. Though it’s a surprise in my eyes—whether they like it or not, I couldn’t care less.
Maybe, when one rejoices, another must grieve… Lala~ Not my problem!

[Leader! Those bastards still won’t let us go! Even if we leave the guild, once we go to the same respawn point, we’ll be killed!]
[Leader! They have too many people, and some have taken the assassin class—they can locate us wherever we go!]
[Leader! Our guild’s online member list has been leaked. They know our IDs, so they can lock onto us anytime!]
Players who took the assassin subclass can accept assassination missions, then buy items from the Assassin’s Guild to locate targets at a high price.
Similarly, the target can also buy equally expensive items from the Assassin’s Guild to hide their tracks… But most players don’t carry assassination items, especially Gunfire Rose members, as they keep to themselves and rarely make enemies.
The one who leaked the list must be that Expert Pooper. That was likely his real purpose in joining the guild.
‘Sword Sweeping the World.’ Yingning nearly ground her silver teeth to dust. ‘In this life… I will never rest until you’re all dead!’
At this moment, there were still 6 hours until 6 PM.

[Latest news: Hell mode likely has only one boss, a super boss at level 50, with strength comparable to a level 40 world boss, and quality of purple with a hint of gold.]
Hearing his subordinate’s report, Jiangu nodded… But even he couldn’t help his heart race at the words ‘purple with a hint of gold.’
Purple with a hint of gold—possible to produce divine-grade equipment, high chance of quasi-divine, guaranteed purple!
Keep in mind, the entire game didn’t even have a single purple piece yet!
[Boss strength is within acceptable range. There is still hope at this stage. Our dungeon strategy team is researching its attack patterns and weaknesses.]
[Since there’s only one boss and the arena is enclosed, it’s basically confirmed there are no side quests. So after clearing, it will likely reach 100% completion.]
This meant only one team could clear Hell mode.
The team that clears it will instantly leap ahead of others, and might even become an undefeated legend in the guild elite tournament for a long time.
The guild elite tournament—a terrifying contest that can instantly plunder 10% of an enemy guild’s resources! It can be initiated every Saturday, and no guild can afford to ignore it! Whether defending or attacking, failure is not an option! The cost of losing is too great!
Not to mention that soon the officials would hold a 5v5 elite ranked tournament, with rewards so rich they could make even the smallest guild soar! Rumors even say that a legendary territory token might appear, something that would cause a scramble among all major guilds. So the competition for Spider Nest was extremely important!

The second boss, Spider Queen’s Water Elemental Clone, was a real headache… I tried everything, only to find that all my skills dealt zero damage. Then I had a brainwave and switched to the equipment with Lightning Bolt, discovering that only lightning-type skills could deal damage.
Though that Lightning Bolt could deal a hefty 3000 damage, I only had that one piece of gear with a lightning skill, and its cooldown was painfully long. No idea how long it would take.
Helpless, I left the dungeon again and hurried to the auction house.
This time it would take a while, but it’s just to buy some gear with lightning skills. Nothing messy should happen…
Less than 6 hours left, and still three bosses to defeat. Otherwise, there’s absolutely no chance of catching up to the big guilds’ dungeon progress! Time is too tight to waste a second!
