I quickly pulled out my priest staff, cast Moon’s Blessing on Yingning in the team list, then unleashed a Flurry of Snow at Bai Li Mie Tian.
But he raised his shield and, instead of engaging, retreated behind a wall of shield warriors, heading straight for Yingning!
“Chief! She’s strong! She took out several brothers in seconds!”
“Such a spicy babe? Ha! My turn!” Bai Li Mie Tian laughed maniacally, charging at Yingning with his shield.
What followed was blocked by the thick shield wall—no light seeped through. I couldn’t see, couldn’t know.
“I said, don’t touch her!”

I sprinted toward the shield wall, leaping high to vault over it. But there were three rows. I cleared the first, but the second was closing ranks. I twisted in midair to slip through the gap, but failed—the shields swatted me away like a fly!
The third row advanced, sealing the breach.

Voice of Seduction was an AoE skill, boosted by Dominion of Earth.

They didn’t care about reputation—only their own thrill. The worse their fame, the more satisfied they felt. In their eyes, Second World was merely an outlet for their inner depravity and twisted desires. And there were many such people. The Mie Tian guild had a massive membership—chillingly large!
Like now, they wanted to see a sister’s despair after watching her younger sibling die, and a brother lose all reason, eventually dying miserably at their hands.
They wanted to see rage and helplessness, and the bitterness of being forced to control the boss against one’s will after the sister’s death.
The only thing Bai Li Mie Tian hadn’t expected was that I could break through that seemingly impenetrable three-layer shield wall. But in his eyes, it didn’t matter—Yingning and I were surrounded. Not only had they teleported inside the temple, but their men outside encircled the building, surrounding us and the Sword Sweeping the World members who had just escaped through the window.
Yingning was killed. The five-man elite squad of Mie Tian had ganged up on her 5v1, and by the time I arrived, a dagger had pierced her heart.
Unbelievable. Unacceptable. But it was reality.
Leveling was already grueling at this stage. Yingning had worked so hard, only to lose a level for nothing.
Though I knew it was just a game and she could revive, it still stung.
I forced a smile. Instead of advancing, I stood still, opened the out-of-game menu, and posted a status on my friend circle—a drawing of a little fox tail.
Then I took out paper and pen, drew five little tails.
Bai Li Mie Tian and his men walked over, encircling me, watching curiously as I finished drawing. They seemed disappointed not to see grief or anger on my face.
“What’s wrong?” the red-named assassin sneered. “Is she crazy? Why’s she smiling? Come on, it’s not real death—just one level.”

I smiled, flicking the five paper pieces.
They fluttered down and landed silently at the feet of the five.
Then I clapped my hands, as if nothing had happened, and walked back into the temple. “Don’t you want to fight the boss? Come on, I’ll help you!”
Some people just never understand what that fox tail represents.
Well, can’t blame them.
