Chapter 28: The Hidden Class: Angel’s Request

“What’s this? You’re not going fishing today?”

Xue Hu stood at the entrance of the Enchanted Forest, holding a wooden board, observing the girl before her with a smirk.

“It seems I’m the only one training as a ‘Merchant,’ aren’t I? The fishing village is all the way on the other side.”

“Xue, Xue Hu?! You, what are you doing here?!”

Xingxing had never anticipated “running into” Xue Hu at the entrance of the Enchanted Forest, and she appeared utterly flustered.

“Didn’t, didn’t you already go to explore the map? How, how are you still here?!”

“Oh dear, don’t be so flustered. I’m not going to eat you, am I? Look at you, you’re stammering again. What are you so nervous about?”

Xue Hu continued to smile at Xingxing, but the words on the wooden board pricked at Xingxing’s nerves.

“Oh, could it be… you want to capture the White Tiger by yourself?”

“Eek! You, how could you… No, I’m not going to capture the White Tiger. How, how could that be? We agreed to level up together, didn’t we~”

Xingxing forced herself to calm down, oblivious to the fact that her panicked expression had long since betrayed her.

“I, I came here because I got bored of fishing and wanted to take a stroll in the forest to clear my head. Yes, that’s right, I want to clear my head. Since you’re here, Xue Hu, why don’t we switch tonight? You go fishing, and I’ll scout out the forest. How does that sound?”

“Bored of fishing? If you put it that way… well, it’s not entirely out of the question… However…”

Xue Hu feigned a thoughtful expression, slowly writing on the wooden board.

“However, since you’re so free, could you do me a favor? Don’t worry, it won’t take too much of your time. Once you’ve helped me, you can go capture the White Tiger—oh, no, I mean, go out and clear your head!”

“Xue Hu, I genuinely am not going to capture the White Tiger! Why won’t you believe me!”

Xingxing retorted with feigned annoyance, then smoothly added.

“What kind of favor do you need? I’m telling you upfront, I’m no good at fighting monsters beyond my level. You’d be better off asking Hank and the others for help with that.”

“Well, don’t worry, it’s certainly not something as difficult as fighting monsters. It’s actually quite simple: I just need you to come and sing a song.”

Xue Hu wrote mysteriously on the wooden board.

“This game actually has a hidden class that only some girls can switch to, and I want you to help me obtain the qualification for it.”

“Singing? A hidden class? What in the world are you talking about? You’re a girl yourself, so why can’t you switch classes?”

Xingxing was utterly bewildered by Xue Hu’s revelation, asking with a completely blank expression.

“Xue Hu, you can’t be serious. The system hasn’t mentioned any hidden classes. How could you possibly know about this?”

“I’m not joking, you know; I’m being serious. I’ve heard about this game before, so I know some inside information.”

Xue Hu’s expression grew even more mysterious as she slowly detailed on the wooden board.

“There’s a hidden class in this game called ‘Angel.’ It’s a non-combat class, but it’s used in combat. To put it plainly, it’s like the ‘Priest’ class in other games: it can heal teammates and even revive them. However, an Angel cannot perform any attacks; they can only follow their teammates. To switch to the ‘Angel’ class, one needs to pray at the ‘Angel Sanctuary,’ and in this remastered version, singing is also required. Since I’m mute and can’t speak, I naturally can’t sing, so I can only ask for your help!”

“‘Angel’? That sounds incredibly fantastical, doesn’t it? And why would you want to switch to a non-combat class that can only heal?”

Xingxing asked, clearly puzzled.

“Also, if I go and pray to switch classes, what does that have to do with you? You still won’t be able to switch to this class, will you?”

“It’s because I’m worried about everyone’s safety! I’d be very happy if I could protect everyone. As for this class change, it’s different from other classes; it doesn’t directly turn you into an ‘Angel,’ but rather gives you a seed.”

Xue Hu explained in detail.

“The ‘Angel’ class change is irreversible. Once you decide to become an ‘Angel,’ you can’t revert to any other class. So, it only gives you a seed, granting you the qualification for the class change. Once you’ve made up your mind, you can use this seed to become an ‘Angel’!”

“I truly don’t understand why you want this seed. Isn’t this just handing over victory?”

Xingxing looked at Xue Hu with confusion, but then a sense of resignation settled over her.

She waved her hand and said, “Well, never mind, never mind. Why am I worrying about all this? Just tell me, where is this ‘Sanctuary’? I’ll go and get the qualification for you.”
