Chapter 3: I got confessed

The moment I faced Magical Girl Happy, countless thoughts raced through my mind.

I couldn’t figure out which were right and wrong, or what I should say and swallow.

No, they weren’t thoughts.

To dismiss them as such, the head that should be getting complicated felt paradoxically empty.

Only after a little time passed did I realize that my head was filled not with thoughts, but with confusion.

Of course, realizing that didn’t change the situation.

Magical Girl Happy slowly approached me, and I retreated step by step to create distance.

It was then that I realized how foolishly I had reacted.

To defeat Happy, I needed water, and there were only two places to get water in this room.

The sink and the bathroom.

Unfortunately, Happy had already occupied the bathroom.

It was close to the entrance, blocking my path.

“Sister, please answer me.”

“…Sister?”

As I slowly retreated towards the sink, my last resort, a terrible sound reached my ears.

I stopped in my tracks for a moment at the absurdly non-sensical sentence.

“Did you call me sister?”

“Can’t I call you sister?”

“No. Stop it right now.”

“…Okay. I’m sorry.”

At my curt refusal, Happy seemed shocked, letting out a sigh and drooping her shoulders.

It was a scene that made me incredibly doubtful.

Why on earth is she trying to call me sister?

And why is she so dejected at my refusal?

You’ve never done that once in 131 fights with me, have you?

No.

Yeres, what are you doing right now?

You got the bathroom taken over because you were thinking so deeply just now.

I shook my head immediately.

Immediately shaking off the doubts filling my head, I took advantage of Magical Girl Happy’s pause and quickly ran towards the sink.

“You can’t do that.”

However, it was a fight with no chance of winning from the start.

Happy, who casts magic based on the fastest known thing in the world, light.

There was no way I, without a single drop of water on my body, could beat her in speed.

This was the only way, so I acted like that, and the price was terrible.

“Kuugh!”

I fell to the floor before my hand could even touch the sink.

I fell forward, but the pain felt more severe in my feet.

When I turned my gaze, I saw light transformed into a lasso shape grabbing my ankle.

And the intense heat flowing from the light began to burn my skin.

“Kuaaaaaack!”

If I were Queen Yeres, it would be nothing, but I am not the queen right now.

I didn’t have a single drop of water on my body, and I had sold all the jewels that nullify magic.

The staff recognized me as an enemy and inflicted damage, so I was no different from an ordinary civilian.

“Ah…!”

Perhaps finally realizing that fact, Happy quickly retracted the light and picked up a 500mL water bottle that had fallen on the floor.

Then, she walked to the sink and filled the bottle with water.

It was understandable at this time.

I hadn’t yet destroyed Happy’s birthplace, killed her comrades, or started the war in earnest.

Her willingness to show mercy to the enemy was just like a magical girl.

“It wasn’t intentional, Sister. I’m sorry.”

“Quickly… sprinkle it on.”

I pretended to be as hurt as possible, trying to get Happy to sprinkle as much water as possible.

I don’t really intend to heal the wound.

Instead, using this water…

“Is this enough?”

“…Huh?”

She didn’t pour it out in torrents.

But she didn’t sprinkle an insufficient amount either.

As if she knew me so well.

She sprinkled only the exact amount of water needed to heal the wound on my ankle.

That action was so creepy that I couldn’t use the water to cast other magic.

As I unconsciously erased the wound on my foot, Happy let out a sigh of relief.

She immediately stood up, dumped all the contents of the bottle into the sink, and waved her staff to evaporate the water.

“I didn’t know you had become this weak. I’m really sorry.”

Unlike Happy, who acted thoroughly, I couldn’t say anything.

A series of situations that I couldn’t accept filled my head with confusion once more.

“How…?”

The words I barely managed to utter contained a lot of meaning.

From whether she found me after consuming the water in the 500mL plastic bottle.

To the question of why she knew me so well.

It was the moment when the information I had obtained after being killed 131 times was thoroughly overturned.

“Do you want to ask how I found you, Sister?”

And I couldn’t understand why she was trying to call me sister either.

It felt like… a mocking attitude, and I couldn’t hold back my anger.

“Don’t call me… Sister!”

“Why? It’s not like we’re meeting for the first time. It’s okay to call you sister, isn’t it?”

“Don’t talk nonsense. I’m not your sister!”

“Yeres, Sister.”

But Happy didn’t get angry at my harsh words.

She guided me, who was lying on the floor, to sit up and pushed her smiling face close to mine.

“Please don’t do that. I’m begging you like this. Okay?”

“Who are you?”

“I’m Magical Girl Happy.”

“You are? No. You’re not Magical Girl Happy!”

“I know it’s very strange. But I can explain everything, so please listen to my story.”

With each word she spoke, her face got closer and closer.

I realized that Happy’s gaze was directed towards my lips.

I was about to reach out to shake her off, but it was no use.

All I could do was open my mouth.

“Get away!”

“Don’t do that. Well, I have no intention of killing you, Sister.”

“You expect me to believe that?”

“Then I’ll do this.”

Finally, Happy’s face moved away.

She sat politely in front of me and released her magical girl uniform.

Then, she threw her staff out of reach, even if I stretched out my hand.

It was true that she had no intention of killing me.

I don’t know if she’s sincere, though.

“Do you believe me now?”

“No way.”

“Why? How should I prove it now?”

“More than that, answer my question. How did you find me? No, you must have found me by chance.”

“No.”

“No? Liar! And I didn’t do anything! There’s no reason for you to come looking for me!”

“There is.”

“What is it? What is it!”

“Because I wanted to see you, Sister.”

Unlike me, who was consumed by anger, Happy was overly calm.

She listened to the words I poured out and kindly gave answers to them.

Of course, they weren’t answers I liked.

“Don’t talk nonsense. You and I are enemies!”

“Um… really?”

“What?”

And Happy didn’t like my answer either.

She frowned and slowly approached me.

“Do you still think of me as an enemy?”

“What are you talking about?”

“You’ve stopped being the Queen of the Dark Moon evil organization, haven’t you? Am I still your enemy, Sister?”

My questions were full of errors.

The moment I heard Happy’s question, I realized that this situation wasn’t a coincidence.

No, it might be a coincidence for me, but it was inevitable for her.

“How much do you know…!”

“Um. That’s a difficult question. But I’ll tell you honestly, so don’t get angry. Promise me.”

“Cut it out!”

“I thought you’d say that. But I was going to say it anyway.”

She was doing her best not to ruin the inevitably approaching meeting.

Happy calmly took a breath and opened her mouth.

“I’ve known from the beginning.”

“…What?”

“From the moment you set foot in South Korea until now. I know everything.”

“Don’t lie. You just found out by chance.”

“Then I’ll show you the proof.”

After that, at the words she spat out, I, the former Queen of the Dark Moon evil organization, felt fear.

“That old pawnbroker. He was really bad, wasn’t he?”

“…!”

“I don’t know what he was thinking, treating you like a criminal. I was so angry watching him. So I smashed him.”

“You smashed him…?”

“Yes, and before casting the concealment magic, I deleted the memories of the people who saw you. Originally, I wanted to gouge out his eyes, but I couldn’t because I thought it would make things too big.”

“…”

“And weren’t you very uncomfortable without this?”

Happy, who continued the conversation, took something out of her arms and laid it out in front of me.

A picture of my face in plain clothes and an ID with the name Yeres engraved on it.

A smartphone with her face as the lock screen.

Finally, a bankbook and debit card made in my name.

“How…”

“Why? Aren’t these the items you need for the ordinary life you wanted?”

“How do you know that?”

“I know everything.”

After saying that, Happy slowly approached me.

“I know everything about you without exception.”

Her eyes were too dark for a girl who casts magic based on light.

“So, Sister.”

The moment I realized that fact.

I couldn’t hold back the nausea pouring from my throat at the information I had learned for the first time.

“Only look at me, Sister.”

Happy loves me.

To a very terrible extent.

What is going on with the formatting in this chapter? Randomly bolded words, lines between every sentence? I hope this doesn’t continue later.

Yandere and Yuri? I’m absolutely IN. Really curious as to why Happy is so obsessed with her…

Thanks for the chapter!
