For a fleeting moment, Zhou Ruoyu almost believed Gu Jiachen was about to force himself upon her.
The man’s face was mere centimeters from hers, carrying the scent of a shower gel she particularly liked. His gaze was so intense that, for a moment, the young woman trembled like a small rabbit caught by a wolf king, utterly incapable of resistance.
‘However… if such a thing truly happened,’ Zhou Ruoyu mused, ‘I would likely wait until Gu Jiachen fell asleep afterward and then raise a hatchet.’ After all, the person before her wasn’t some captivating CEO worthy of her affection. He was the detestable scoundrel she harbored immense resentment for!
Fortunately, Gu Jiachen didn’t actually force anything in the end. It seemed this fellow hadn’t yet reached a point of utter lawlessness. The esteemed CEO merely smiled, gently nudged the blushing young woman, and then inquired:
“Little rabbit, are you truly not going to take a shower this Saturday morning? It would be quite refreshing…”
“No, no, no, there’s no need! I already showered yesterday!”
Zhou Ruoyu quickly waved her hands. What kind of joke was that? If she actually took that shower, Gu Jiachen might just run to her room and wait for her.
She was well aware of what came after a fragrant shower!
So, she thought, she would rather be a little smelly!

Following the young woman’s firm refusal, Gu Jiachen seemed a bit unsure of what to do. After all, the training was done, the meal was eaten, and, well… there really didn’t seem to be any activities left.
Feeling bored, Zhou Ruoyu accompanied the CEO on another tour of her home. Gu Jiachen observed the little rabbit’s home decor with a peculiar expression. No…
This little one truly had no girlish charm whatsoever. Wasn’t this decor a bit too… ‘straight man’?
And what was that anime figurine?
Seeing Gu Jiachen staring intently at her favorite anime figurine, Zhou Ruoyu felt a slight surge of anger. ‘You perverted CEO, keep your distance from my wife, my little Vampire Princess!’ she thought. ‘Where are you even looking?’
After a long moment, the CEO chuckled, then turned his head and asked, “Is this yours, little rabbit? Or was it left by the previous occupant?”
“Uh… *cough, cough*. I haven’t had time to decorate yet. They’re all from the previous occupant! Haha, I don’t really understand these things… What does it look like, ‘second dimension’? Haha, truly, truly strange…”
Facing Gu Jiachen’s question, Zhou Ruoyu instantly cut ties with the truth. She didn’t dare admit it was her favorite virtual streamer.
“I don’t really understand either, hmm… But aren’t you a shut-in, little rabbit? I thought you were.”
Gu Jiachen let out a soft laugh, which made Zhou Ruoyu immediately shake her head vigorously.
Of course not…
Because she was a shut-in *guy*!
Afterward, Gu Jiachen, having finished touring the house, found himself with nothing left to do. There wasn’t much to see, after all; Zhou Ruoyu’s place had none of the typical girl’s boudoir that Gu Jiachen had hoped to glimpse. After resting for a while, he rose with a slight reluctance in his heart. Zhou Ruoyu’s spirits immediately lifted, and she quickly stood up to ask:
“Are you leaving? *Cough, cough*… Well then, CEO Gu, have a safe trip!”
“Oh?” Gu Jiachen inwardly chuckled. “But I wanted you, little rabbit, to see me off to the community gate.”
“Eh?”
The smile on the young woman’s face instantly froze.
****
Outside Zhou Ruoyu’s community gate, hidden in the bushes, Gu Xue found herself in such a spot for the very first time. Tangled branches and leaves brushed against her face, and annoying mosquitoes buzzed in her ears, but these were not the true reasons for her current agitation.
She hadn’t left. Instead, she had remained at the community gate, closely watching the people coming and going. Her primary focus was twofold: first, her boyfriend, Zhou Ruoyu, and second… that long-haired woman in black that she had just seen in what should have been Ruoyu’s house!
Why was she doing this? Hadn’t the young woman said that Ruoyu had moved out and she was just the new tenant? The security guard had said the same when he’d asked her to leave, and initially, Gu Xue had believed it.
However, as she stood at the community gate, replaying the entire encounter in her mind, Gu Xue suddenly realized something was amiss! It was this:
The long-haired girl in black, despite meeting her for the first time, gave Gu Xue a strong sense that she was quite familiar with her. Especially… the look in her eyes when she first saw Gu Xue.
That gaze was definitely not merely confusion or fear—the typical reactions one might have to a stranger knocking at the door. Instead, it was an extremely complex expression. It was as if they had known each other for a long time.
Gu Xue refused to believe that the long-haired girl in black, who had displayed such an expression upon first seeing her, didn’t know her at all! While it was true Gu Xue had never seen her before, that didn’t prevent the other party from potentially knowing her.
For example…
The long-haired girl in black could be that ‘little green tea’ she had previously hypothesized might appear around Ruoyu! She might have learned about Gu Xue through Ruoyu, or Ruoyu might have even shown her photos of Gu Xue. That’s why she could recognize Gu Xue at first glance!
And she was the culprit who had been instigating Ruoyu to break up with Gu Xue all along, deeply jealous of Gu Xue while simultaneously feeling guilty about stealing her boyfriend! That’s why she had shown such a complex look when she saw Gu Xue!
This deduction was highly plausible! Especially since, when Gu Xue had entered the house earlier, she noticed that the decor hadn’t changed much, with many items still in their original places. This hardly looked like Ruoyu had moved out. Even if it was a sudden move, it couldn’t have been so hasty that he wouldn’t even take his appliances!
Therefore…
Was there a possibility that Ruoyu hadn’t left at all? Perhaps… he might have even been in the bathroom showering at that very moment! And the reason that ‘little green tea’ lied, telling Gu Xue that Ruoyu had moved, was to prevent Gu Xue and Ruoyu from meeting, hoping to make Gu Xue disheartened and abandon the idea of getting back together with Ruoyu, so she could completely live with Ruoyu herself!
Her intentions were wicked, truly wicked!
Thus, feeling as though she was finally understanding everything, Gu Xue instantly developed a deep hatred for that long-haired ‘little green tea’. The thought that the perfectly amenable Ruoyu was ignoring her all because this ‘green tea’ was fanning flames and deceiving both sides made Gu Xue swear that she wouldn’t leave today until she saw Ruoyu.
Therefore, after being chased out of the community by the security guard, Gu Xue simply hunkered down in the bushes, quietly observing the movements at the community gate. She refused to believe that the ‘little green tea’ would never leave the community!
Hmph, she’d better not flaunt herself by going out with Ruoyu. Otherwise, as soon as Gu Xue saw them, she would immediately rush over, grab Ruoyu, and confront that ‘little green tea’ face-to-face!
At that moment, Ruoyu would surely have a sudden realization, turn over a new leaf, return to Gu Xue’s side, and fiercely teach that ‘green tea’ a lesson on her behalf!
Holding onto this belief, Gu Xue waited and waited…
Finally, around noon, just as Gu Xue was starting to feel lightheaded from hunger, a familiar, petite figure slowly appeared on the road. Gu Xue’s eyes widened, and her heart suddenly swelled with joy. She quietly half-stood, sighing inwardly:
‘Little green tea, I finally waited for you! Excellent, the little green tea is even with a man. It must be my Ruoyu… uh…’
