Chapter 4: Bibi’s Humiliating Debut

If this were the only way to gain favor, or if my master were truly enamored with this method of building affection, I would sooner find a blade and swiftly draw it across my own throat.

Evidently, however, this master of mine proved gentler than I had initially imagined.

As I lay prostrate on her back, the hyper-realistic game effects allowed me to discern the faint, fragrant perspiration tracing paths down her cheeks.

“Bibi, are you awake?”

Sensing my subtle shift, she paused her actions and carefully set me down.

‘But who on earth is Bibi?!

…Judging by this, she’s calling… me?’

‘Hey! You didn’t just give me some censored name, did you?!’

I longed to protest vehemently, yet the lingering aftereffects of the punishment left my body inexplicably weak, transforming my intended words into a soft, languid moan—a sound disturbingly full of allure: “Ying~”

‘…This is definitely an adult game.’

‘Once I escape this place, I’m going to smash Su Yingning’s gaming pod. I’ll never let her touch such terrible things again! Su Yingning is still a minor, after all!’

During the mere minutes of consciousness I’d experienced thus far, I felt the accumulated dignity of my past life as an assassin utterly pulverized.

Then, as if caught by a gale, it was swept away!

Leaving not even a speck behind!

Had this been reality, and had she not been my master, I could have effortlessly slit her throat in a single second. Yet, this was merely a game, and I found myself with a master.

“I’m sorry… I didn’t realize the punishment button would cause you such agony.”

My master, the girl named Ding Beibei, gently placed me on a stone, ensuring I was seated properly. Facing me, she wore an expression so pitiable it seemed she might burst into tears at any moment.

“Still, swearing is ultimately wrong, especially for girls; it severely damages one’s image. When you do something wrong, you deserve to be punished… Next time, I’ll choose a lighter setting.”

‘My heavens, there’s a next time?!’

‘It was just a curse word! How can this woman’s moral compass be so perfectly aligned, just like Su Yingning’s?’

I collapsed into her arms in despair, my eyes vacant and lifeless.

I no longer knew how to speak, feeling as if I had been thrust back into my past life as an assassin, a life spent perpetually treading on thin ice, walking a tightrope day in and day out.

Though the struggles were similar, with a single misstep leading to eternal damnation, at least then I held dominion over my own fate. At least then, I was the glorious world’s number one hacker, the world’s number one assassin.

In this life, I remained the world’s number one in reality, but alas, this was a game… I was a pet! I had a master!

Even if my assassination skills granted me countless advantages within the game, I would never be the world’s number one in this virtual realm… because I was a pet! I had a master! She was the true number one!

“Bibi? What’s wrong with you! Don’t scare me!”

The profound worry in the girl’s eyes was unmistakable, indicating that despite her cruel methods, her heart was not truly wicked. This realization brought me a measure of relief, making the future seem a little brighter.

“Bibi? Bibi?”

‘Stop calling me that! Do you think you’re some electrifying middle school girl?’

‘Hmm, I guess there’s nothing wrong with that…’

Naturally, I kept this thought to myself, not daring to utter it aloud.

I realized that ever since I’d been electrocuted, my inner world had become considerably richer… Unable to speak, I was confined to conversing with myself within the confines of my mind.

“Bibi? Bibi, wake up! Bibi! You didn’t get fried and turn stupid, did you?!”

The girl paced anxiously before me, oscillating between self-reproach and vexation. Her helpless, adorably clueless demeanor was, admittedly, a rather pleasing sight—though such an emotion was hardly fitting for a pet.

I watched as she pouted, a picture of aggrieved helplessness, her bright, lively eyes instantly misting over with unshed tears.

“They say you can fight poison with poison… So, maybe I should just zap you again!”

‘No, I can’t keep playing dumb! I have to speak!’

‘And what’s more, I need to utter a polite greeting that perfectly aligns with her moral compass!’

In that fleeting instant, countless human greetings for first encounters flashed through my mind. Ultimately, in my desperation, I grasped onto a lifeline as if winning a lottery draw.

“This humble fox maiden greets you. How may I be of service?”
