Chapter 50: The Pink Tempest

Petals drifted on the night wind, and a pink halo covered them, outlining a romantic picture.

The scene sketched by the extremely charming petals left the three Protectors momentarily stunned.

Their guard gradually relaxed, as if they had given up resistance, mesmerized by the beautiful picture scroll.

But beneath this beautiful scene was a chilling killing intent.

The speed of the petals’ movement increased dramatically, their trajectory becoming difficult to track, as if they were twisting and turning in space, ignoring the laws of physics.

In just a few seconds, the three Protectors quickly broke free from the illusion, only to be met by a tightly packed cloud of petals.

Yang An and the others roared in helpless anger, “Are you really going to force our hand?”

At the same time, they each unleashed their own power, urgently evading the deadly petal whirlwind.

The petals pursued them relentlessly, the killing moves contained within them suffocating the three.

Already covered in wounds, the three had to do their utmost to resist the attack of the petals.

But even though they could block most of them, a few slipped through their defense line, leaving more deep, long gashes on their bodies.

The three immediately dropped towards the ground.

In the air, the petals had too much room to maneuver, with attacks coming from all six directions.

If they were on the ground, they could reduce some of the damage.

A gust of wind blew, and the petals became even more agile, swarming towards the three like a dense cloud of bees.

Liu Zhuang and Fang Han also rushed towards the ground at high speed.

The weapons of Yang An and the others were also covered in various colors, the fluctuations of their power distorting the air.

Forced into a corner, the three of them also activated their Life Source Energy to fight.

The three couldn’t understand.

That woman looked so gentle and weak, so why was she so ferocious in a fight?

After activating their Life Source Energy, their speed, strength, and resistance all increased significantly, and their control over energons also improved considerably.

For the hundred-year-old trio of Yang An, the stolen Life Source Energy was consumed at a much greater rate than their own innate Life Source Energy.

The vast majority of the Life Source Energy in their bodies was stolen from others.

So when it was used, it was much harder for them to recover, and they were more prone to aging.

The Life Source Energy in the human body is not constant, nor does it decrease with age.

As long as the Life Source Energy is not consumed too much in a short period, it can be slowly recovered through cultivation and refining energons.

And this recovery ability is closely related to the body’s functions.

Although the three looked young, there were many hidden dangers within their bodies.

Once they used a large amount of Life Source Energy, it could be extremely difficult to recover, and could even cause irreversible aging.

The three of them all cherished their lives.

When they activated their Life Source Energy, they would look around to see if the other two were also exerting themselves, or if they were just putting on an act.

Han Chen, who had preserved the most strength, looked at the watchful eyes of Yang An and Qi Yu and said helplessly, “Really…”

He had originally planned to take the opportunity to escape.

As the saying goes, “better you die than me.”

To Han Chen, his own life was far more important than any so-called camaraderie.

But the looks in Yang An and the others’ eyes were a clear warning to him.

If he dared to escape alone, the two of them might use his, Han Chen’s, life as a token of allegiance.

Shi Yidie took the lead, rushing straight to the ground, with Fang Han and the other following behind.

The pink petals formed a pink cloud, swooping down on the three who were ready to strike.

The four throwing blades collided violently, merging under the influence of the light blue energons and Life Source Energy to form a giant throwing blade the size of a face.

Han Chen clased his hands forward and, with a forceful grab, the blade shot straight at the cloud of petals.

It flew at incredible speed, leaving a sonic boom in the air, as if it were about to shatter the sky as it charged upwards.

The veins on Yang An’s face bulged.

He held his blade in his right hand, and a halo of light gradually gathered on the blade’s body.

A few white strands faintly appeared in his short black hair.

The air seemed unable to withstand such pressure, and a faint wail, like the ringing of a blade, emanated from beside the sword.

Seemingly reaching some kind of limit, Yang An lifted the blade with both hands and slashed upwards from below.

A crescent-shaped energy wave of blue and white, containing an infinite blade intent, shot straight into the sky.

Qi Yu’s muscles tensed all over his body, and a blue halo covered him, like a statue of a Buddha.

A light blue mist rose from his iron staff.

He held the long staff with his tensed arms, and with a powerful push of his feet, his whole body shot upwards like a firework, striking towards the sky.

And the originally somewhat scattered blades slowly converged, forming a downward-pointing cone.

Shi Yidie was inside that cone, her hands spread downwards, held above her head, supporting the rapidly rotating petals.

The petals spun faster and faster, and a hurricane whipped up around them.

Liu Zhuang looked at Fang Han, who was diagonally behind him, and said, “You don’t need to join in. The two of us are enough!”

Fang Han pouted but said nothing.

After all, being weak was the original sin.

His strength was indeed far inferior to a Second Form warrior who had started to fight for their life.

Helplessly, Fang Han slowed down and began to move away from the battlefield.

A brownish-yellow light, like that of the earth, shone from Liu Zhuang’s eyes.

The light slowly spread over his entire body, making him look like an earth god of war.

They were all Second Form, but there were differences.

One could glimpse a thing or two from the light radiating from their bodies.

The three cultists were merely using Life Source Energy to agitate their energons and stimulate their bodies to increase their energon burst and physical mobility.

This was just an ordinary Second Form warrior.

A top-tier Second Form warrior, however, was connected to the will of the world, having grasped certain laws of nature.

Liu Zhuang, he had a nickname: “Earth Bear.”

Liu Zhuang slammed viciously into Qi Yu, like an airplane crashing into a sparrow.

Qi Yu’s upward momentum came to an abrupt halt, and then he was slammed brutally into the ground.

“BOOM!!”

With a huge roar, a massive crater was smashed into the concrete road.

Liu Zhuang, radiating a brownish-yellow light, held Qi Yu’s bald head in one hand.

Then he slammed Qi Yu’s head viciously into the ground.

A thrilling physical brawl, but it was just a one-sided beating.

Qi Yu’s hands trembled.

His battle staff had long been lost to the side.

The immense pressure left him no room to resist.

He only felt that the man was ravaging him like a brown bear, and excruciating pain radiated from his entire body.

His brain slowly became dull, and he couldn’t even feel the pain anymore.

The dark sky became even darker…

On the other side, the pink cone was like the most unstoppable sharp weapon.

The giant throwing blade and the sky-charging crescent moon were like trees caught in a tornado.

They were directly swept in and then thrown out.

The pink cone only paused slightly before charging at the two with an even more ferocious impact.

Yang An and Han Chen looked at the ever-growing pink tornado, their faces filled with despair, their hands and feet ice-cold.

Locked on by the attack, they had no chance to escape.

Shi Yidie exerted her strength again, and with a push of her hands, the cone detached itself and smashed towards the two dazed cult Protectors.

In the ravaging gale, only their unwilling wails and mournful cries could be heard.
