Chapter 53: Victory with a Healer’s Aid

“Yes, it’s me. Hurry and accept the request; I’m giving you all these items—they’re useless to me now!” Xue Hu urged incessantly. 1″Quickly, your invincibility is running out! If you don’t accept, you’ll be killed by the ‘Azure Dragon · Modified,’ and I won’t be able to revive you again!”

“W-why…?” Hank stared at Xue Hu, a hint of disbelief in his eyes.

However, spurred on by her insistent prodding, he accepted the request and completed the trade.

Gazing at the inventory slots brimming with orbs and items, he finally whispered, “Thank you…”

Xue Hu watched Hank re-enter the fray.

While continuously healing him from the rear, she also kept a vigilant eye on the movements of the Azure Dragon · Modified.

Whenever it made any unusual move, Xue Hu would immediately warn him: “Hank, watch out for its left/right/downward side; it’s about to breathe fire/slash with its claws/smash the ground!”

Beyond providing healing, Xue Hu also periodically cast ‘Strength’ and ‘Valor’ buffs upon Hank.

“Oh, Holy Goddess of Light, please bestow a strong body upon this warrior, protecting him from the monster’s assaults!”

“Oh, Holy Goddess of Light, please grant this warrior valiant courage, empowering him to cleave the monster beneath his blade!”

Two streams of pure white holy light surged into Hank’s body, causing his defense and attack power to increase astonishingly.

Xue Hu’s ability to discern the Azure Dragon · Modified’s attributes was the result of careful deduction.

Given that water-element attacks inflicted super-effective damage, it logically followed that the Azure Dragon · Modified must possess fire-element attributes.

Furthermore, the fact that metal-element attacks, though countered by fire, still dealt normal damage, indicated that the Azure Dragon · Modified also wielded wood-element attributes.

The resistance to both wood and fire elements stemmed from the Azure Dragon · Modified itself possessing these two attributes—a point previously established, as orbs of the same element would not inflict damage upon a monster.

This also proved that the Azure Dragon · Modified lacked both earth and metal attributes; otherwise, wood and fire elements would have at least dealt normal damage.

As for the earth element, it was precisely countered by the wood element, and since the Azure Dragon · Modified also lacked water attributes, earth-element attacks could only be resisted.

It was undeniable that having a comprehensive healer made monster hunting significantly easier.

Previously, although the others could fight, they relied on potions for healing, and low health would inevitably hinder their movements.

Moreover, they lacked the various buffs to empower themselves, making their battles incredibly arduous.

Even Xingxing battling White Tiger and Yi Ye Zhixia fighting Azure Dragon, despite their immense buff and item advantages, found their encounters perilous—for without a dedicated healer, their lives were constantly at risk.

Empowered by Xue Hu’s myriad blessings, Hank bravely hurled orbs and occasionally landed a punch on the Azure Dragon · Modified.

If the Azure Dragon · Modified struck Hank with a normal attack, Xue Hu would apply a continuous healing-over-time buff to him.

Should it unleash a powerful ultimate skill, such as its “Breath” attack, Xue Hu would instantly cast “Invincibility” on Hank or boost his defensive capabilities with buffs like “Strength.”

Even if Hank’s health inadvertently dropped significantly, Xue Hu’s potent heal would swiftly restore his HP to a safe level.

However, they hadn’t prepared an abundance of water-element orbs, and their inherent damage wasn’t particularly high.

Consequently, just as they brought the Azure Dragon · Modified down to half health, the supply of orbs ran short!

Hank was thus forced to rely on his fists and kicks to deal damage.

Fortunately, with Xue Hu’s ‘Valor’ buff augmenting him, the damage Hank inflicted at this point was far from negligible.

Upon reaching one-third of its health, the Azure Dragon · Modified abruptly ceased its assault, its corpulent body writhing incessantly.

Just as Hank and Xue Hu braced themselves for another grand maneuver from the Azure Dragon · Modified, its body elongated and thinned, its wings shrinking before vanishing entirely!

Gradually, the Azure Dragon · Modified reverted to its original Azure Dragon form, and its health bar visibly extended, returning to half capacity!

Yet, this transformation appeared to be a blessing in disguise.

While the Azure Dragon · Modified had possessed lower health and defense than the original Azure Dragon, their super-effective water-element orbs, specifically for the Modified form, were now depleted.

However, a substantial quantity of metal-element orbs remained, as they had prepared an almost full inventory of them precisely for battling the original Azure Dragon.

Now, even though the Azure Dragon had regained half its health, the metal-element orbs could inflict greater damage.

Compared to the previous situation, they could now defeat it even faster!

Without any suspense, the Azure Dragon, still retaining its post-clone state and lacking offensive capabilities, inevitably crumbled before the two shameless individuals who continuously healed and exploited its weaknesses!

“It’s done! I finally did it!”

Watching the Azure Dragon fall before him once more, Hank stood rooted to the spot, utterly incredulous.

He simply couldn’t believe this was real!

Now, no one could contend with him for the Azure Dragon; it was unequivocally his.

So overcome with excitement, he momentarily forgot to search the Azure Dragon’s ‘corpse,’ instead turning to Xue Hu and repeatedly muttering, “Th-thank you, thank you, thank you, Xue Hu!”

“Don’t mention it. Hurry and capture the Azure Dragon! Don’t wait for its ‘corpse’ to despawn!”

Xue Hu smiled, gazing at Hank, who was as excited as a child.

She pointed towards the Azure Dragon’s ‘corpse’ and urged, “Let’s bring this farce to an end!”
